- The Budget Honda Civic Build goes on its FIRST canyon drive POV style! We put the budget suspension to the test to keep up with cars MUCH FASTER than mine! Let’s DO THIS!
This is the hardest I have driven the Honda Civic in my ownership. Trying to keep up with a Lamborghini, GTR’s, Evo’s, Turbo Porsche’s, and a 2020 Supra was not easy for a stock Civic. These mountain roads were beat to hell with potholes, rocks, and sand EVERYWHERE. This was a big test for the TruHart $500 coilover suspension to see how well the Civic could perform in turns and bumps. Unfortunately the camera angle made it look much less exciting than it was, so you’ll have to trust me on that! Regardless, the budget suspension exceeded my expectations and made these roads a BLAST to drive!
The BIGGEST issue the Civic has was the rubbing problem in the turns. My fenders are not rolled and the wider wheel and tire setup suffered without more camber. Fortunately the tires and my fenders were ok, but I collected a good amount of rock chips to make up for it lol. Overall, I can’t wait to dial in the suspension on the Civic more and installed the camber kits to get better clearance in the corners. It’s not always about having the fastest straight line car, but something that can handle well in tight turns! Most of the mods so far have put me on the right path to a better handling and MORE FUN Honda Civic. Eventually, a motor swap will make another huge difference along with brakes. But in the meantime, the SOHC Vtec d16y8 is holding up great!

You have no idea how fun this car is. To be fair, I've only driven the auto sedan version of this civic. To my surprise, it was sooo fun to drive!

Stupid superstition
Unfortunately the GoPro wasn’t in the most ideal place :( Didn’t realize how much the mirror was in the shot until I started editing. The microphone on my camera was also turned around, so my audio wasn’t the best. Taking this one as a learning experience, but hopefully you still enjoy!
I know some people are concerned about the “social distancing,” so here’s a couple bits of info. Most of the people that were close together came in the same car. Some of them were most likely roommates or family. I personally kept 3-6 feet of distance at all times. I sanitized my hands every time I got in and out of my car. I wiped down everything I touched in-between stops and even gave out sanitizer to others. Our stops were also limited to less than 10 minutes. Overall, we still had significantly less contact than other settings. Not saying a drive is is the most ideal thing in this climate, but we’re all trying to enjoy something little safely.

I think that is a good placement for the GoPro. I would just take down the review mirror. I don’t know if having a review mirror is illegal or not in Idaho though.
I highly recommend downloading the GoPro app for your cell phone once you connect the GoPro it allows you to see exactly what the camera sees you can test it and hear the sound before you start recording it also allows you to edit the FPS lens width and all

@@_WyreTheWolf even just a K24 kept NA would be heaps of fun, there is only so much power you can send through the front wheels before the torque steer makes it unusable.

WyreTheWolf k series are good, they rev high and are lots of fun

@@spartacussmith7070 actually the 95 accord is somehow a gas saver. Its 17 gal tank. My friends and I went to 1320 performce in the bay, mind you we live in the central valley in cali. Full tank, took us 30 mins. drive, usually takes us about 45mins. - 1hr and only 1/5 a tank was used. So depending on which engine you use it's a gas saver.
@@chukob5 My ex AUTO does extremely well and I occasionally hit redline and often floor it (Texas drivers are retards...) and yes Hondas (especially older ones are geared higher. My auto sits at 3k just doing 70 Mph

It’s hard to tell from the video, but everyone is doing their part while still trying to enjoy life. Things you didn’t see in the video was me sanitizing my hands everytime I got in my car, or wiping down my bag of beef jerky once I got it etc. Just didn’t feel the need to film that

I know you’re doing this as a budget civic thing but you should definitely start building a motor for it Like H series or B series whatever you’re feelin for her but definitely would be something amazing to watch (from you not all those other channels hahaha)

I kinda like the way it is. Engine swap is cool but honestly, if it was another civic with b, h or k series engine i would think meh, just another civic with engine swap. The attraction is in the stock form.
@@ALLDAYANTHONY Honestly if money is an issue, and eventually want a turbo build and don't need to make a ton of power. Single jingle D series are still great. Rods,Pistons,Valve springs, adjustable cam gear, and a cheap ebay turbo goes a long way on those single jingles. You could make around 250 to 300hp.

I built my 17 Corolla like this. I live in pa where the roads are steep, curvy and bumpy. Didn’t touch the motor, just suspension. I can stay full throttle in turns when most need to let off.

Dayum man. First time on this channel and all I can say, is from the 22 minutes of this video is that the production quality is actually amazing. The rolling shots you take are amazing, really good stuff man. You deserve more credit.
I've always loved the Civic Coupe, especially since owning my Aquamarine coloured U.K. 1993 LSi coupe. Yeah she was initially slow (had the 1.5litre), but, had a Mugen chip, sports cat, back box, airbox delete/cold air intake install (which also helped with induction noise haha), fitted lightweight 17s, Electro Luminescent speedo/clocks upgrade, full tinted rear LED rear light replacement kit (gave a look like Nissan R32 rear light setup with double red LED rings each side), plus more little personalisation based tweaks etc. After this she was noticeably quicker than standard, but, as like you say, may not be the quickest (yeah some people do B swaps (even K swaps)), but, she was mine, I was happy with her, and.... was fun to drive... She looked good too... All the best fella... 😎😎

Dude 127 HP can go really far when its done in a Civic I remember my 1997 Civic SI Coup it was stock for about 1 year until i discovered Mods. Right after the first intake and 50 Shot of Nitrous alot of crap talkers stopped talking.
Bro idc what anyone says but the civic in general is a beast. I mean most civics have 100k plus miles on a 1.5 L engine and still run like a beast. Honda in general one of the best car companies

No one in the 48 practices social distancing lol. Nothing here has changed at all from the day this has started. Basically you can't go inside restaurants and go to gym's. Just had my dc5 rip through curvy mountain roads by west virginia and PA. There I was cruising them all at 55 an 60mph. An I look in a mirror all I see is the top of a mustang gt hood. So I dropped fifth gear an pulled on exits of corners. Hear him really banging on the car. So I dropped to 3rd at 50mph, an showed him what vtec is all about. An traction lol. I got 280whp an amazing traction to the track. He was upset with himself, his car, or me an mine to say the least lol
