In this video we test out the capabilities of my k20a2 civic type R engine swapped Honda jazz against cars in its class. We race against several ep3's alongside Boris the micra. We drag race the Jazz type R against a standard Honda jazz first, and gradually race the jazz against faster and faster cars, one of which is my dream JDM civic ep3 type r with the k20a engine. This game was destroyed by corporate greed and the usual MTX stuff. Was an OK game to dick around in, now it's just a mess.
Generally speaking if a UA-camr is advertising a game/drink/food of some kind it's pretty much trash. No offense to Jack, sponsers = money, and money = more jazz

it's the shifting. you're losing a tenth of a second on every shift, which is compunded at the finish line
Yeh true! Getting the type r dials will deffo help the timing.
@@JackMcNeillCarswith all due respect at this “ level” experienced drivers and builders drive far more by ear and feel than gauges (that’s how you really learn a car) glancing at a gauge or catching a shift light in your peripheral etc only makes any difference at far higher and faster levels than this when things are progressing so quickly that your reactions are struggling to keep up without visual stimulus. Hats off to you young man for building such a great vision of what you had in your mind and honestly the rest will come in time, ( only when you hit time after time consistency to within 100th of a second will you know the driving is right, so only then is it really time time to up the power again or try to tweak etc) you’ve a hell of a future and journey ahead of you👍
@@gimble447 unfortunately for him it's a lack of natural ability, he will never be able to improve to the level of an elite driver. I was never much good at football and no amount of training would of changed that because unlike driving and riding motorcycles football was not natural to me. Its good that the young lad has got his channel, making money and having fun but he should definitely stay away from anything that is properly quick because he will hurt himself.

@damianmatthee9745 what are you waffling on about? You can teach someone how to operate a vehicle but being able to operate one is a huge difference from being able to actually drive. There's levels to this.
Don't worry, with time you'll get used to shifting gears smoothly, and beat that ep3 no problem

Honda missed a trick not making a Jazz Type R. They would have sold about ten to elderly customers and it would be a modern classic by now. Fun little car to drive with the normal engine, cheap and as practical as a small van if needed. With 200hp it could be the perfect car for British roads. Congrats on a very nicely done build.

Next you need to get a Kpro or k100 ecu to get it remapped I think that will make a msssive difference

@@Enigmaception it will allow the car to be tuned, which will mean the rev limit can be upped yes.
@@Enigmaception I think most dohc vtec k20's are safe up to 8600rpm and are good for 210-220whp with exhuast headers and intake w tune (:
Me personally, I’d recommend taking it to a track. I think that’s where it would shine.
Somethings wrong with it. Whats the point in swapping to a Jazz/Fit if its slower than a UK Type R and much slower than the jdm Type R which is still only 15hp more

No matter the results, your jazz sounds so epic!
and if i can offer a suggestion. CTR pulled away because of likely lower drag co-efficient, smaller frontal area, less slabby, so it makes complete sense that it will pull further and further away the higher the speeds, even if it is down on a little power, up on weight.
I noticed your interior was stripped too.
That white ep3 wasn't exactly standard with the mugen bits under the bonnet but was great to see some drive bys from the jazz.
It’s almost standard, spoon manifold and decat, Mugen airfilter and twin loop back box 😉 @jdm_mugen_ep
Get cams, and throttle bodies and another map 👍👍👍
14.5 stock ep3 and same mods as the cosmic 250bhp is good for flat 14’s.
Along with the shift times are the reaction times! Below 0.100 is considered ok and below 0.090 is where it gets good. 1.1 second reaction and 0.600 is time for tea breaks.
Very exciting and cool video though. Well done for all the hard work! This is the first video I’ve seen of yours so well done for the Jazz too! If you have done a full conversion and running gear I would have thought the Jazz with being slightly lighter to be faster also. Maybe aero on top of driving…
We need mid 14’s or 14.6 at most from the Jazz with a stock K20.
Was the air con on during the races? That’s 10% down on power just there.
Top tip… more of a hack!!! Go on the last amber!!!! That’s how sub 0.1 reactions are done! If it’s a full tree, leave on last amber and if it’s a pro tree leave on all the ambers. 😅

I'm pretty sure if the engine can rev higher (8000-9000RPM), it makes more power which is why the Jazz Type R always lost to higher-revving cars.
An ep3 is a 'track car' (sort of) not a 'drag car'. You wanna see if youve built a comparable vehicle then you you need to do some laps.
Honda really need to bring the jazz out with a manual and their little 1.5 turbo engine

Throw a K24 bottom end to that nugget with the k20a2 head and oil pump. It will give more power than any single mod you mentioned and will actually be pretty cheap. Plus then you can throw bigger cams in it. And cold air intake instead of that hot air intake would be mint.
Well this vid makes me proud of my 15.3 run in my uk civic type r Standard engine & full interior,where was the extra 50bhp in the tuned ep3 🤷♂️

If you can, do something “powerful” too. You desperately need a 6 cylinder turbo build.
If you want to make the chassis better and you don’t want to put a role cage in welding all the panels joints and adding extra spot welds were you can’t. This has fallen out favour because of cost and time but adding this too strut bars and chassis bar is a effective was to make a economy car model quicker and more responsive

Hi, First of all BIG UP the white Jazz, nicely done, true you did not beat a Civic which isn't a bad thing either as I like Civic's also. Not a bad result, my daily is actually a 2016 Japanese Honda Jazz, badged as the Fit but basically the same car, love it and guess what it's white.
If you shift just before rev limit you can keep it flat with no consequences (other than a much faster shift) keep your arm smooth to minimise mistakes like dropping a gear!

You need some DMO gear shifts in that jazz.
Would have been a close race against my standard fn2 type R, i did a 15.3 at santa pod.
When you get a working rev counter, I recommend shifting just before the red line, I found it to be the fastest for all the vtec Hondas I've had. Also not sure if you did, but always lower front tyre pressure, if you have adjustable suspension, maybe make the rear stiffer, you don't want to squat down and take the weight off the front end. Should gain you a few tenths.
Jack you need a shift light or more practice at changing gear. Great little car lad 👍🏻

That first civic type R did the exact same time as my stock Clio 182 Cup, man I regret selling that car.

Absolutely love seeing my old JDM EP3 and the new owner has taken it to the Pod!! And it’s now on UA-cam! Awesome! A very well done to him! I had the whole genuine Mugen catalogue build of parts for that before I decided to sell it for my FK8 ( which I have done it again and got the whole genuine Mugen catalogue build for it 😂😂) which I intend on getting that down to Santa Pod when it’s finished. Keep up the awesome work on your amazing Jazz and looking forward to your next project as we have TDI golf that we use as a daily😂 @jackmcneill

This jazz came a long way, I'm sure if you had better tyres , suspension and know where to shift ,you would of definitely done better, still you accomplished a lot bro, really loved this series. Do a simple full bolt ons with a tune and run it back 😎
I think some better tires to get that lighter car launch benefit with some heat in them and shortening the shift latency will have this thing beating a stock EP3..maybe a set of cams too ;)
Honestly cutting 6 secs just from a drive train swap and a few aero cosmetics is impressive but hear me out imagine full engine build and turbo?

try to shift better, get that head ported, put basic tachometer with shift light, you're good to go :) wanna get spicy? turbo seems good mate!

I think your engine might be a bit tired, even when you were in 3rd gear the heavier EP3 with the same stock motor as yours, not the JDM one, was still pulling away. Perhaps time for a k24 block, some cams, retainers, and valve springs? Maybe even a set of hi-comp pistons

There’s not really much difference in weight between these two cars even though the jazz is smaller
There is something going on with drivers front suspension. It’s under too much load. Maybe get a strut brace and a new coilover
