I have for you a giant tip. You WANT to use space trains. There are so many items you would need to put on the bus, and space pipes/belts are weak. Your bus would at the end propably need to be extremally giant, so plan for using space trains and a space elevator. Space elevator would save you a ton of resources, and it connects power, and the solar in space is later insane. You can get over 40MW with a SINGLE solar panel. You also want to have all the space science in same spot, well not science itself but catalogues (I think)

Your space station spaghetti base is off to a stellar start. Looking forward to seeing it scale.
*watched to the end of the video. The mod creator locked bots and kovarex behind resources on other planets to railroad you into this exact gameplay loop. Welcome to the club lol. I like the commitment in your strategy of taking the excess stone to the extra step to priority green chips. There's also an alternate blue engines recipe which makes an excellent rare metals sink before you get to imersite. Several of these recipes are easy to dismiss early on and then forget they exist.

I'm still tied to the original original factorio strategy of not being able to delete things. If I can find mechanisms for using ALL resources without resorting to putting things in boxes then I'm gonna do it. Blue engines is a really good call, I didn't spot that when I built the factory so if I need it then it's gonna get a bit ugly. Hmm, we'll see.

@@theotherbigfoot don't apologize, it's a mindset that's going to pay dividends as these processes get more complex. This is where the game opens up. Everyone is throwing advice at you because we've all been there before. Mine is just take it a piece at a time.

I like your playstyle Bigfoot. I would not be able to do it that way myself, but that is what makes this game so great. There is no "correct" way of playing it. It gives me joy to watch you play and how you explain your way of thinking :)
I wondering if you know that you can set generic names on landing pads. You can have several landing pads with the same name, and a rocket with no planet destination, just a landing pad destination. That rocket will send rockets to all landing pads with the same name. E.g. if you have one rocket that sends Iron Plates to no planet (i.e. no planet selected), but to landing pad "IronPlates", and you have several landing pads with the same name. That rocket will send rockets to all landing pads with the name "IronPlates". No rocket will be sent if no landing pad can fit the content of the rocket. I.e. no overflow.
This way the complexity with rockets gets easier to manage, for those rockets that only have one item type.
As an example, I used to have one rocket for each planet send rocket parts, and one for fuel, per planet (i.e. 2 rocket per planet just for rocket parts and rocket fuel). I later refactored this to have just one rocket with rocket parts for all planets/orbits. Same for fuel. This reduced the complexity a lot.

I think until I get koverex and can stop worrying about power so much, big strategy decisions are difficult. There is a moment in all these factory builds where I feel like I can take my slippers off and get comfortable and I'm not there yet.
Rocket parts on a single cargo rocket that services all planets... that is compelling though. Truth be told, none of my rockets are automated yet. They are basically set up to be automated, I just need to connect the final circuit wire to complete it. I'm just too chicken at the moment.

@@theotherbigfoot Yes, the power need. I had that too on my current Py run. Got a more reliable power source a wile ago. Been scaling up and refactoring since then. I just got trains after 138h 48min. Py is brutal (got first belt splitter after 41h 26min), but fun. I am playing it sort of the same way you play your K2SE run. I.e. not looking up how others have played it before. I just play how I want to :)

While i admire you for not using construction bots on nauvis, having constuction bots or spidertrons in the future for the other planets really helps so you dont have to move yourself from one planet to the other atleast as much.

Give me koverex and it'll free up pretty much every decision making process that's going on in my head. I can't see past it at the moment.

Your idea of a spaghettified base is so different from mine 😂, genuinely love the content hope you keep on going through this series even with the hiccups

You can take that spaceship, you will need to repair it but you have the needed components in the ship itself in the chests.
At this point, the ship is usefull to go from the orbit of one planet to another and you can go down and return to orbit with space capsules (a lot cheaper than launching a cargo rocket to go), but if you move it to any planet you will not be able to move it to orbit again until way later.

Problem is that Its slower. Later? Yes. now? Not worth it. Rockets are instant

@@AnAbsolutelyRandomGuy agree, but I was only explaining the possibilities so that he can decide what to do himself. The spaceship is worth it for your first exit to space as it has more machines and resources for the beginig, including enogh vulcanite to research beacons if I remember correctly, but right now is only worth it if he wants to play with spaceships early on

I am not ready for anything spaceship related. I need to spend all my time working towards koverex. I am power deficient everywhere.

@@theotherbigfoot In space solar panels is, usually, the way to go. You have sun 100% of the time so you don't need accumulators and you have a bonus to solar efficiency.
Around 300 solar pannels should be enough for orbital base until the first packs of energy, mater, space and biologic, and you allways can use efficiency modules. It is free (except production of panels), easy to expand and continuous. Plus you have improved solar panels (which use the previous ones as material so they are not useless when upgrading) which produces base MW per panel.
