- Hi friends! This video is all about my fountain pen collection! I talk about the pros and cons of the pens I have and do a mini review for all of them. I am still fairly new to fountain pens as a hobby, even though my first pen is about 10 years old! So I hope you enjoy my thoughts as a relative beginner. Links to all of the pens are listed below!

Where did you get the pen case?
I use twsbi EF nibs and have no problems with sheening or shimmer inks. The Twsbis are especially good for shimmer as they can readily be completely cleaned after using them. TWSI custom service is very good. They had cracking issues early on but have addressed them and for years now the pens have had few cracking issues. Almost all reviews note their excellent construction and durability. I have heard TWSBI will replace cracked sections or barrels at minimal cost or free except for postage when people do have cracking issues.
Wow that’s awesome! Whenever I’ve asked pen manufacturers including TWSBI they’ve recommended at least a M nib so that’s so interesting you’ve had no problems! I have had so many issues with cracking personally so hopefully others don’t experience the same thing 😊
I have two three TWSBI ECO’s and they are all great pens. I take them everywhere and I have never had a problem with my pens. I have a rickshaw pen case that I keep my pens in for any travel even day to day. My TWSBI’s are workhorse pens. They always work no matter how long I have had them capped. I love them!!! I love that I can take them completely apart to clean them and then put them back together again. I have many other pens in my collection including Kaweco sports, LAMY, Pilot, and a Platinum Century 3776 these are also all great pens.

I recently got 2 TWSBI pens. The Eco Glow Green and the Eco-T Royal Jade.
You could actually use a Diamond Mini nib replacement for the Eco if you wanted to change the nib since they are the same nibs. So that you don't have to buy a whole new pen if you prefer that.
Oooh how do you like the Eco Glow Green? I saw the Glow purple one and I was so tempted!

I love my Kawaco sport. I use silicone on the threads and use an eyedropper to fill the whole body with ink so it holds a really good quantity of ink. But the drawback is it will be messier to refill

FYI, You can technically swap the nibs on the vac 700. it’s just a separate unit, and it won’t be the pretty Iris finish because they don’t sell those individually. I’ve also put shimmers in F and EF, though I do prefer shimmers in M or B nibs. I like shimmer in a TWSBI F nib sometimes. It’s a little more subtle. 🤩

Did you try, by any chance, some Robert Oster shimmer inks? If so how it behave ?
I do really love the TWSBI Eco a lot. I have 8 of them and have been trying to collect all the transparent colors. All of mine have broad nibs, but they all have custom ground italic nibs on them, so I tend to have them filled with different colors and use them for calligraphy projects. I've been using them for the past five years. They sure aren't perfect, but at least for me and the way I use them, they've held up really well. I also have the Kaweco Sport Iridescent and I have five other Kaweco Sports. I don't mind the lower ink capacity because I am using finer nibs with them and I'm usually good for a while. I have pretty small hands, so I have never actually posted the caps of my Kaweco sports. For pens I bring around a lot more though, I do like the Lamy Safari, Nexx, and ABC. I feel that they are a lot more fuss free than a lot of other pens I've used, and a few of the ones I have also have custom nib grinds on them. The Safaris come in a lot of fun colors, and I also have two Vistas that I use for testing inks

Only fountain pen I dislike is the lamy safari I duno why but it’s not a pen I like at all.
I just purchased a TWSBI Eco EF in black and I’m planning on pairing it with the bamboo charcoal Pilot Iroshiziku ink! It will be my first fountain pen…I would love to see a video for beginner fountain pen-ers😊🫶wonderful video!!

I collect twsbi only , thank you for sharing your beautiful collection. To not stain your 580 I recommend you syringe it to keep the white from staining. I also have the Kaweco brass sport my only Kaweco.,
That’s a great idea! I’m getting some syringes soon so I’ll have to keep that in mind when filling my 580. 😊
You could replace the VAC700r nib... Just not with an Iris nib unit.
Honestly my current issue with vac and piston pens is too much capacity 😅
So true!! Thank you for letting me know :) And I agree, sometimes I want to get through the ink quicker, so I will fill it up halfway or even less! It's nice to have the extra room if you're using an ink you really love though 😄
I have a diamond mini in the white and it did get desperately stained with a pink ink! Just keep in mind not to use alcohol. I was able to lighten it a bit with some soap and water but to me it just shows love and character now haha.

Did you try to clean it with nib cleaner or with some minute amount of ammonia (a few drops) in a cup of water?
Hello Emily, thank you for sharing your collection :) I too have a few TWSBI (Vac700R Iris stub, Vac700R medium and Diamond 580 White Rose Gold 2 in medium). I'm curious about your experience with shimmer inks in the TWSBI. Both of my medium nibs TWSBI are not exactly wet pens but so far shimmer inks have been a mitigated success with them. FWP Tumultuous Tides has been stellar but for the others I tried I had little shimmer shimmer or they would clog. Which shimmer inks have you tried in them (if there isn't too many to list ;) ) Robert Oster Rose Gold Antiqua is the perfect match for the Rose Gold 580 but alas I had clogging issue with it. Hi! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with pens clogging! I find that if I don’t use my pens for a while or I leave them out in the sun, the ink will dry up in the nib and clog it up. I’ve spent a lot of time running the nibs under water and testing them on scraps to get them to start again so you’re not alone! I’ve never had an issue so bad in my TWSBIs that I had to entirely clean out the pen to get it going again thankfully, but I just chalked it up to being the price I pay for shimmers haha. I’ve tried Colorverse shimmer inks (Brane, NGC 1850, Mystic Mountain, a Cygni) with pretty good success! FWP Green with Curiosity, Tumbling Time Blue, April Showers… I could go on! I think my 580 is the smoothest/best writer :) Surprised even your stub would give you issues!! Thank you for the recommendation for that ink, I’ll have to check it out! Have you thought about using the TWSBI GO or Swipe with Broad or Medium nibs? I think they're perfect for ink experimentations, portability and inexpensive.
That’s a great idea! I have a glass dip pen I have been meaning to use more often too but I’m always worried about the mess 🥲
I have been using a cheap fountain pen I got off amazon for the last 2 years and now I have bought a few different ones that are more expensive. They should be arriving next week and I can not wait to see what a bigger brand pen will be like. The Twisbi Diamond in rose gold is one of them and a Kaweco aluminum pen in purple. I CAN NOT WAIT to play with them and start playing with inks rather then always using the standard cartridges. I have heard nothing but good things about both of these pen.
Those are both really great pens!! I'm sure you'll totally love them! I would definitely suggest Ferris Wheel Press and Colorverse for inks if you're looking to expand your collection. Have fun with them!! :)
@@notablyemily Oh I have been eyeing Ferris Wheel Press for about a year now. Their bottles are STUNNING and look like bottled magic! I ordered 3 because even if it ink is terrible (which I highly doubt it is) I will still love the packaging and not even mind...lol

I love my TWSBI Vac Iris. I have it in Fine but it does write wetter than other fine nibs out there. Unfortunately, I'm no fan of Kaweco Sports. Another Fine nib that I enjoy is the Lamy 2000.
I have 3 TWSBI and none I would call wet yet everbody else appears to have wet TWSBI nibs go figure.... Must be my bad luck :P

Hello, please, can you help me ? I have Kaweco Sport and i would like to know if it can fit the TWSBI cartridge. Since my country (Slovakia) does not offer these TWSBI cartridges, i have to order them from near by country for more expensive delivery cost, so i want to be sure if they would fit in my Kaweco Sport so i do not pay big money for useless thing...:) thank you for advice!
Hi Jozef! Kaweco Sports fit any Short Standard International Cartridges! As long as it’s the short version it will fit and work. Hopefully that helps, enjoy your pen!
@@notablyemily But TWSBI cartridges are not really short international cartridges...they are little longer and wider...I hoped you have tryed or try it since you have both pens =D maybe if you have som TWSBI cartridges, would you please try to insert them in Kaweco Sport for me? =)
