Previous comments about not drying out (for weeks or months at a time) is right on! It’s been my experience as well. Mine, both Eco and the Swipe, are nice and wet, juicy writers! Terrific quality just like Brian says in this video.

My Eco is still the most enjoyable pen I own. Not only is it stunning in translucent blue, it writes like a dream! Medium nib is smooth and wet, exactly how I like it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these to just about anyone.

Can approve.. I have Eco and Diamond.. Huge ink capacity, very smooth writing, excellent workmanship, lot of accessories, never dry off as my Parker urban (when I do not use it a day).. Even I started use it for ink drawings, and my TWSBI like it as well😉 I just do not know what that letters mean.. Thank you for video!

My TWSBI Diamond 580 Smoke Rose is my absolute favorite! (I get so many compliments and curious looks at work when I take it.) As a fountain pen beginner, this is the one that did it for me, that sold me on using a fountain pen daily for journaling. It's so easy to use, smooth to write with and holds so much ink. Plus, the ink flow is always consistent. Now that I'm Team TWSBI, the mini, Iris 580, and glow green eco have happily been added editions within my collection.
Love your videos and always look forward to the pen podcast, Brian!

Funny you say the Classic doesn't stand out. I saw the Precision on UA-cam, and got interested (I hadn't heard of TWSBI). My Twsbi Swipe was one of the smoothest writing pens I’ve ever had. Unfortunately I lost it while traveling a few months ago. I will end up getting another Twsbi soon. About the Twsbi pocket clip: yes it’s very stout but if you pull it away from the pen and slide it in your pocket, it’s not going anywhere. It works very well and if you’re like me and bring your pens to work you don’t have to worry about snapping this off the pen like I’ve done with my Muji and Ohto Tasche.

The Twisbi Mini was my first fountain pen, and still my favorite. I was inspired to choose it after a conversation in which a couple of friends brought out their pens for a quick demo. The Mini was the only Twisbi there, and it was also the only one that wrote as soon as the cap was off. Everything else needed a bit of priming or tweaking. I now have two Minis, the green glow Eco, and one of the nearly indestructible Go models, and they all write immediately, every time. I have a few other brands, including some that are more expensive, and nothing is as good as the Twisbis.

I have a few of each, and though I love the new Iris 580 is most eye catching, the Eco feels best in my hand and even when sitting uncapped at my desk, it refills quickly. Next to my Pilot 823, it is my most favorite. I even prefer it to my former grail pen, Pelikan 800. 8a blue fanatic so the eco in blue and now the cerulean never left behind.

I have an Eco T clear and two Swipes, peach and avocado. They're all fine nib. Of all my pens (12?) the Eco T is the smoothest writing. I call my TWSBI 580 my Energizer Pen because it always works and just keeps going and writes well. Once had several pens in my backpack and it got dropped. of the 4 pens, a couple much more expensive than the TWSBI 580. The other 3 had to have the cap and section cleaned out because of ink leakage. The 580 didn't leak at all. Very impressive. I now have 4 different TWSBI's all from Goulet Pens.

I love my Vac 700R. It is just a joy to write with. I also get a lot of writing done per fill, since the ink capacity is huge, and I'm using a fine nib. Seeing the ink slosh about in the barrel gives it an even cooler factor. I know that vintage pens, such as some Sheaffers and Parkers were vacuum fillers, but I haven't been lucky enough to find a vintage vacuum filler in good condition at a reasonable price. The TWSBI Vac 700R satisfied my need for a vacuum filler in my collection, and it's become a favorite pen that I use daily, along with my Lamy 2000. The Vac 700R is just such a terrific value, and I highly recommend it.

If I could go back in time to May 2020 when I suddenly decided to start a fountain pen collection, I would forego most of my purchases (Pilot Metro, Platinum Plaisir and Preppy, and others) and just get TWSBI Eco EF nibs in all the cool colors I missed out on. I would skip the TWSBI Go because the grip shape doesn’t work for me and the Diamond mini cause the lip on that grip doesn’t work for me either. It took me far too long to get into the Eco, but now I want about six of them. The Vac mini is so tempting but it looks like the grip section has that same shape at the top and I probably won’t like it. Loved this video, hope you’ll done for Pilot next.

    • @jamesaritchie1
      @jamesaritchie1 Рік тому

The FPR flex nibs are, I think, the best out there. I have the Ultra flex on a pen already. Far, far better than Noodler's, and you can also buy matching feeds for almost nothing. I've considered trying one on a TWSBI, but I didn't know if it would fit, and I hate taking it off the pen it's on now. Cheap as the FPR nibs are, I may as well just order another one. Or two or three, if the first one works out. A TWSBI with a good flex nib sounds wonderful.

This was a great video, Brian. Thanks for explaining the different TWSBI pens. I have a few ECOs, a Swipe and the Rainbow 700R vac. I don’t mind a large pen as I have arthritis and I also prefer capping my pens. I was not aware that some TWSBIs should not be capped. I also like that as you go up in models the nibs are easier to swap out.

I love TWSBI, the 580s and 700Rs are awesome, they are a staple in my pen rotation.

I love the Minis because I like a smaller pen although I also enjoy the Eco with its various colors, especially the glow in the dark ones. As you explained, TWSBI is great value for the price, another feature I love.

I loved how much the Twibi eco wrote so much, I got a second one so that I could have two immediate ink colors without fuss.

I love my TWSBI pens! I prefer the ECO-T for fit in hand, but that's based solely on how I hold my pens. I will say, I hate when my coworkers pick one up and start twisting parts to figure out how to open them. Ink ends up everywhere and on uniforms. That being said, of all my fountain pens only TWSBI has maintained smooth writing performance while deployed, across a variety of barometric pressures, and hemispheres. Other pens and inks tend to be disrupted by those factors.

I was lucky enough to get the Prussian Blue 580 ALR as my introduction to the hobby and I love it so much. I have other pens I use for specific things, but I’m happily using the 580 ALR as my daily driver. It’s absolutely gorgeous looking pen that catches people’s eye, but not so expensive I’m worried to take it with me.

I love Goulet videos. I started watching when I got back into fountain pens some years ago. I’m trying to find that sweet feeling again, but after the Goulet Noodler incident things just feel so fake to me now. Love TWSBI and I sincerely miss enjoying these videos. Hoping to get that feeling back one day. Sooner than later 🤞🏻

I have an embarrassing amount of TWSBI pens. I’ve been collecting them for the last few years since I found them and I’ve gotten every color released for at least the last 5 years. I love the ECOs and the 580s. OMG I just bought the new glow purple and the IRIS vac pen. I need to be stopped! 😂

i just began getting into Fountains pens a few months ago.
i have a Mont Blanc, a Xezo, 2 Pilots (including the 823), a Noodler's Ink Ahab, a TWSBI Diamond 580, & a FPR Himalaya. by far, my fav is the TWSBI.
I'm hoping to buy the TWSBI Mini Rose Gold when they're back in stock.
    thanks Brian!

I love TWSBI pens, but I don't think they're as good in any way as any Montblanc or the 823. Those two pens are as good as they get for under a thousand dollars, and are made far better than any TWSBI. The nibs are better, too.

@@jamesaritchie1 thanks for the response. I’ve had nonstop inkflow issues with the 823. I’m going to try ink from Pilot next.
