    Loved this video! I was considering if a TN would be of good use for me, but I think maybe the knot at the back of it could be annoying for me. I think it may be stupid to ask someone that uses it regularly but... Do you find it annoying at times? I think it may cause me to not use the setup at all so I think purchasing it without knowing if it would bother me is not a good idea 😅

    • @notablyemily
      @notablyemily 2 дні тому

      I was the exact same way before I got mine and I do not notice it at all! So much so that I had to think for a minute on what you meant by the knot cause it’s such a non issue! I 1000% would not use it if the knot was an issue, it’s also helpful if you have a couple of inserts and it sort of smooths it out if you know what I mean 😊

    In regards to morning pages, I think it says in the book that you should get up half an hour early to do them. Six A5 pages does not take me half an hour, it takes at least one, maybe one and a half because I write very small. So I've adjusted to three A5, because that takes 30-40 minutes, which still has that effect of brain drain/idea generation that they're "supposed" to have. Definitely agree on changing it to fit your life and needs!

    • @notablyemily

    Your Morning Pages are YOURS, so change the rules to fit YOUR life. I do 3 pages (not spreads) in miscellaneous journals that are about A5 size, and I don't spend any more than 20-30 minutes each day because...life! I still get a lot of benefit from the practice.

    • @notablyemily
      @notablyemily 12 днів тому

      I really like it! I take it with me everywhere as part of my TN setup. I find it's really smooth and inky, the black gel ink is very black and it dries fast. The pen also feels solid and has a nice weight to it and I love that I have a few that are personalised :) One of the downsides is that it doesn't have a clip; with the body being hexagonal it doesn't roll but you're not able to clip it to anything. The finish is pretty sturdy but if it gets scratched hard enough it can take a dent out of the paint/finish but I haven't had that happen more than twice. I definitely recommend it, it comes in lots of cute colours and the ink cartridges are replaceable too! You can get the ink in blue or black I believe. :) I have the Drehgriffel Nr 1 in the Gel Ink version , it is a ball point!

    Great post Emily and shows how much you can be appaulded, 👋👋 and brilliant comments from your subscribers, this has been so me and now empowering to get this fabulous hobby under control, I have even now started un subscribing from others who I have followed for years to whom have now started to focus more on their buying and love for their hauls, sadly more than their actually planning. I get it that you need to find your flow from the so many planners and accessories that are out there, but some youtube infulencers are still over many years down the line are still strugglying to get organised, but could open up a stationery shop with all their supplies they have, which actually must be so overwhelming for them, gladly I am free from this. I couldnt believe some of the videos watched where these "planners" nearly had a melt down with the hobonichi website, so sad to see people get to this highened energy, where so many other awful things are happening in this world, and sadly gives a big shout out to where their own mental health is. Its a notebook at the end of the day to plan, journal, make memories and enjoy. Empower your self with the no buy, use what you have its great fun and really encourages and nurtures your Creativity, Happy Planning and Journallying everyone 😊

      Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I definitely agree, I think everyone is on their own journey like you said but it makes me sad when it seems like buying the stationery is the focus instead of using it! The no buy has really helped put things in perspective for me and help alleviate the stress of accumulating more and more instead of getting joy out of using it. Glad to have you here as another planner and journal user who wants to focus on using their supplies! 😊💖

    Thanks for this! It's nice to see a non-planner setup for the TN passport 🙂. When you mentioned wanting to use boxes to store full inserts, I instantly thought of the Paperblanks memento boxes. The designs are really pretty and, bonus, they're a Canadian company!

    I use a Writech Gel Pen needle nose tip, which as a lefty, is amazing. I also store my inserts in one of those decorative boxes you can get at any craft store. I miss my passport tn. 😢 after I finish my pocket Moleskine, I’m going back!

      @@notablyemily I like filling inserts more than filling a 100+ page book that gets super thick. I add a LOT of extras, so notebooks get chunky, and inserts remain manageable.

    A couple easy options for getting ink off hands when soap and warm water doesn't do the trick are: hand sanitizer, shampoo, micellar water. There's loads of other ways that I've never tried like milk, tea, and lemon juice. Cooking or baby oil can work too if you go straight from lathering up with oil to then using soap or washing up liquid without rinsing in between. Worth a try and a lot better than plastic gloves for anyone who's got one of these to hand when the situation arises :)

    • @notablyemily

      These are all amazing suggestions thank you so much! I’ll have to try those! I found that nail polish remover helped (found that out by accident while doing my nails) but I’d prefer something like hand sanitizer or shampoo 😅
