The 42 is definitely the way to go. I looked at both and the 42 is massively more bang for you buck( 500m, date compilation, HEV, expandable bracelet) also there seems to be a lot of complaints about the quality of 39mm
I have the 42 regular black and I absolutely love it. I liked the idea of 39 but some things I disliked were: the exclusion of the arena like chapter ring and most importantly they upped the bling factor to annoying level. I am not a fan of blingy watches, my Breitling Superocean 42 is the highest I can go in terms of blingy, but with those additions it looked like homage or weird remix of BB58. It was not a Pelagos. I have about 6.8 to 7 inch wrist and I have no issues wearing it.
Another great review Harrison! I actually sold an Omega Seamaster for the blue Pelagos as it's MUCH better for diving! (less dressy, more of a tool watch - but better bezel, better bracelet, better clasp, better design He valve, better water resistance, better hands for legability) - - one thing to note though, the He valve isn't used at all whilst diving (no Helium in water!) but used IF going into a recompression chamber (dry chamber) for either saturation diving OR if a recreational diver has had an incident and is in for recompression therapy - again, only required IF the gas mix in the chamber required is a heavy trimix (helium) at "depth" (high pressure = depth) and on the "ascent" (reduction of pressure, simulating bringing the diver back to the surface!) - hope that helps with the basics! best regards....Nick
As tiny wrist person I had to be a Pelagos 39 owner, but I'm happy about it since I really dig the slim case compared to the thicker Pelagos and the little bit of bling the sunburst ceramic bezel brings with it as opposed the fully matt bezel on the bigger Pelagos. Needless to say that the Tudor Pelagos 39 is also what's on my wrist today...Great video!
Blue 42m is the best in my opinion. If I was going to buy a black dial it would be another 42m or maybe the original two line with the eta movement. The 39 is for a smaller wrist and just doesn’t have the features that make it truly a tool watch. However if you like the style & want a daily watch for under a shirt sleeve then hey why not. I’m thinking maybe a green dial for 2023 in 39mm. That’s my prediction. Great show.👍👏👏👏
Tudor GMT black dial on my wrist. I switched the steel band for a Rubber B black with red band with a Tudor deployment clasp. Lowered the weight of the watch overall and improved the feel on wrist. Also looks fantastic.
Tried this watch on yesterday at the AD was initially concerned visually how thick it looked plus knowing it being over 14mm . But trying it on back to back with the Black bay pro found it to actually sit really well on the wrist.. better than the pro did. Actually a nice watch!
Heck yes - the 42 is better than the 39 ... only thing they could do to improve the 42 would be to make the 42 into a 41, remove the date, and slim it down just a tad
Got to appreciate the Tudor Pegalos. It's a proper dive, no-nonsense tool watch. I love titanium watches, for example, my GS shun bun, just beautiful and light weight for everyday use. But in the end, I would go for the 39mm just because my wrist is skinny, and the 42mm is just too chunky for me 😅🤣 Keep up the great videos 👍
Actually wearing a Pelagos LHD as I write this. Like with other Tudor bracelets, I've had to hack the bracelet slightly. Adding a small button to wedge the springs open has made the fit absolutely perfect. Half link option would be nice. Like Uncle Seiko for Black Bay line.
Thanks for the video! The pelagos is definitely on my radar going forward. I’m rocking my speedy pro sapphire sandwich on a nick mankey OD green strap. It’s absolute perfection imo
I´d prefer the Pelagos 39mm to the 42mm. I could check it at my AD and I ordered one. Now I´m waiting for a call...⏳ Today I´m wearing my Maurice Lacroix Aikon 39mm with the blue dial
On my wrist today: Casio Oceanus 15th Anniversary Manta OCW-s5000c-1AJF. Solar powered, super thin titanium, safe to wear in major theft heavy cities.. and by far more consistently accurate than any of my Omegas, Tudors, Rolexs or Breitlings.
I got the 42mm Pelagos, not as a tool watch, but more as a everyday watch. I'm a clumsy oaf at the best of times, I can trip over my own feet, so the additional durability of titanium over steel is a positive for me! I wrecked a Hotaka Peaks GS by hitting it off a wall in January, so I'm being pragmatic 🤣
It seems that you do not understand the difference of something being strong versus hard. You seem to think they are synonyms. Steel is hard and strong, but titanium is just strong. It is prone to scratches, but it will take a stronger force to pull it apart. Glass and diamond is hard, but it they are not strong. Those will break when pushed to their limit, but it is not easy to scratch them.
The 39 looked and felt so cheap to me in hand. The dial and bezel insert looked straight off an AliExpress dive watch, and the bracelet had more play than the average Tissot, along with sharp, unfinished edges on the links. Definitely not the 39mm submariner replacement everyone hoped for, even though that case looks really good. The bezel action was also quite poor compared to the BB58.
I prefer the 39 just sits on my wrist better however I prefer a date function on my watches so I’m waiting for a 39 date version. On my wrist today is a seiko, would love that prx!
The black 42 is one of the best looking tool watches out there I reckon. Sadly, Tudor have yet to address the bezel lume popping out. So it's a hard NO for purchase.
Always enjoy your fun videos. Currently wearing my IWC pilots chrono 41 F1 team Mercedes AMG Petronas (they really need a shorter name for this!). Keep up the great work!
I had the opportunity to try the 39mm lately in a Tudor boutique, and proportions felt odd to me, the hands were too small and something was missing, plus the fact that it felt too small on my 18.5cm wrist. I bought a BB Chrono reverse panda this day, the next one will most probably be the 42 blue Pelagos if I can't put my hand on an Air-King 05 first.
this tudor pelagos blue 42mm , was my first nice watch , a few years ago. since, I have been lucky to have acquired a few ROLEX pieces. the pelagos is my daily watch. the blue, bracelet, hands, - and tremendous LUM . I like the date , maybe a cyclops would be great, but ... . for me this piece is nicer than the 39 FXD. nice breakdown CH ~. JDS/CT
I came thisclose to buying the Pelagos 42. I just could not un-see the entire paragraph of text on the dial. I knew it would bug the heck out of me. Hence, I wound up purchasing the white dial Seamaster Pro 300M Diver, aka the GOAT. 😊 (It’s the watch I’m wearing right now!)
It already says Chronometer, why bother with "officially certified" and Rotor Self-Winding FFS! I agree but I picked up an FXD (at least it's only 4 lines, 2 too many IMHO) but in wearing for about a year I really don't notice it anymore... well until I read this post LOL. This is what I love about my Panerai's. All that said, I'm thinking of flipping my FXD because I miss having a bracelet and going for the blue 42. I'm drawn to the Titanium/Blue combo of my FXD, Breitling Aerospace, & Helson Shark Diver 38 ti.
I'm not normally a Tudor fan, but I quite like the 42mm Pelagos. Not sure about the essay on the dial though. Today's watch is the Tag Heuer Aquaracer GMT.
Good Review. What I don’t understand is why people do not focus on the Lug to Lug measurement. This is more important than the case diameter. The lug to lug determines whether the watch will fit your wrist on not. I know I need a lug to lug of 50mm or less to fit my wrist. That can be a 40mm watch or a 45mm watch. Can you give a lug to lug measurement. Thanks
Yes especially the LHD, i tried the 39 on when i bought my LHD as i heard many say the regualr pelagos is too big that isnt the case , for anyone with nornal sized arms . it fits under a sleeve amd doesnt over hamg my 7" wrist with a few mm to spare either side. The 39 is tiny .
I like the blue tudor and I like also „big“ watches. At the moment I wear the Fortis Marinemaster 44 in orange. I also made now that drop on Instagram, because I would like the PRX 😉
Half tempted by the Pelegos, but bought my new Omega Seamaster Diver 300m White face two days ago in CH when I was in Edinburgh which will be on my wrist for a while
On my wrist today is the Pelagos 39. But… in my watch box, is the FXD, and the black Pelagos 42. I love the 39, however… there’s something about the brutal tool watch feeling of the 42 that for me gives it that edge. I would absolutely love to see an in-depth VS video!
The quick adjustable clasp and dive extension in a way, was not very user friendly, as need to remove the watch from the wrist before can adjust, unlike some other adjustment, u can adjust without removing the watch from your wrist.
Hopefully they have fixed the Lume problem on the 39mm. I own the 42mm and multiple pieces of Lume have fallen out out of the bezel. Already sent it back to Rolex then more fell out 2 months after getting it back with light wear and no serious knocks. Solid review though!
My blue 42 mm pelagos purchased in May 2022 had to go back to Rolex as a piece of the lume fell out the bezel. Took about 4 weeks to come back so far so good. The watch is worn in rotation and keeps excellent time.
The 42 is definitely the way to go. I looked at both and the 42 is massively more bang for you buck( 500m, date compilation, HEV, expandable bracelet) also there seems to be a lot of complaints about the quality of 39mm
On my wrist today… Tudor Pelagos 42 black version. Cheers.
Perfect daily watch. Does it all and oh so legible 👌
On my wrist today omega sea master 300 with black dial 😬
Pelagos 42 black all day! Nothing beats the OG 💯
Exactly! 👌👍
I have the 42 regular black and I absolutely love it. I bought this last year and love it. The blue dial on the duller titanium just pops so well
I absolutely prefer the 42. Gorgeous timepiece! ❤

I'm not a diver, and I'm in love with the 39 because it's so light and disappears when I don't need it.
Hi Harrison. Am wearing the Tudor Black Bay Steel today. The light green PRX is certainly unique.
Tried this watch on yesterday at the AD was initially concerned visually how thick it looked plus knowing it being over 14mm . But trying it on back to back with the Black bay pro found it to actually sit really well on the wrist.. better than the pro did. Actually a nice watch!

Fully agree

Keep up the great videos 👍
Wearing a Timex Expedition that my nephew gifted me this Christmas!
As an owner of a 42mm watch I'd say yes, though for smaller wrists the 39 is a good mix between the Pelagos and the Black bay
I dropped my Pelagos in molikini crater. It went to the bottom and a diver retrieved it. It still looks new.
Wrist check: Pelegos FXD…. mmmmm so amasome!!
Seiko spb147 black & Gilt on wrist today - great vid. The FXD option is cool also
I am wearing my tissot seastar 1000 powermatic 80
Thanks for the video! The pelagos is definitely on my radar going forward. I’m rocking my speedy pro sapphire sandwich on a nick mankey OD green strap. It’s absolute perfection imo
I said it for years : there is only ONE real Pelagos and that is the 42 original with the black dial! 👌
Wearing my GADA watch. Longines Conquest 39mm. Thanks for the channel!
I’m wearing a seiko turtle, I absolutely love it
I love my 42mm Tudor pelego! I bought it last year
Great video! Still leaning towards the pelagos39 when it comes in blue.. on the wrist today is my recently purchased seiko5 gmt in orange dial #ssk05
I happen to be wearing this 42mm beast, trusty beater watch!
I´d prefer the Pelagos 39mm to the 42mm. I could check it at my AD and I ordered one. Now I´m waiting for a call...⏳
Today I´m wearing my Maurice Lacroix Aikon 39mm with the blue dial
On my wrist today: Casio Oceanus 15th Anniversary Manta OCW-s5000c-1AJF. Solar powered, super thin titanium, safe to wear in major theft heavy cities.. and by far more consistently accurate than any of my Omegas, Tudors, Rolexs or Breitlings.

I prefer the 42mm Pelagos as well. On the wrist today is my Glacier Willard
THAT blue is absolutely insane 👌🏻🔥👌🏻🔥👌🏻🔥

It DOES seem he doesn't know his Vickers from his Dickers :P I personally love scratches on a tool/diver
Pelagos 42 black - perfection! Followed on insta also, fancy that Tissot!
I wore my blue omega seamaster 300 today. I’d like to get a pelagos eventually though.
On my wrist today is a work from home watch, Timex Weekender Chrono.
Hydroconquest in 43mm green. Amazing thing for the money.
I prefer the 39 just sits on my wrist better however I prefer a date function on my watches so I’m waiting for a 39 date version.
On my wrist today is a seiko, would love that prx!
I own the black 42mm Pelagos and the Pelagos FXD so you can guess my choice😀
The black 42 is one of the best looking tool watches out there I reckon. Sadly, Tudor have yet to address the bezel lume popping out. So it's a hard NO for purchase.
Today, I'm wearing my Montblanc 1858 GMT. Great video!
Today im wearing my Cartier XL Tank! I want the PRX. It will be a great add to my collection!
Cheers
Having the MR01 Salmon on which I recently acquired, wonderful watch to kickstart the semester :)

Wearing the Tudor BB Harrods today💚
I had the opportunity to try the 39mm lately in a Tudor boutique, and proportions felt odd to me, the hands were too small and something was missing, plus the fact that it felt too small on my 18.5cm wrist.
I bought a BB Chrono reverse panda this day, the next one will most probably be the 42 blue Pelagos if I can't put my hand on an Air-King 05 first.
I prefer larger watches so 42mm, currently wearing a bell&ross br3-92 white dial
Nice review I too prefer the 42 over the 39. Would it be possible to do your reviews without the accent?
Love the Pelagos , I’m currently wearing a CASIO VINTAGE A1000MA-7EF a easy and stylish daily
Thanks for clarifying that your name is Harrison 'as always'. I'm going to stop expecting it to be something different now.
And id go with the 42mm.
I’m sporting the Longines Hydroconquest 43 in black! Love it!
I’m a tall boi with 7.5” wrists, so I can’t wear smaller than 41mm. Prefer the larger model!
Wearing my Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba today.
this tudor pelagos blue 42mm , was my first nice watch , a few years ago. since, I have been lucky to have acquired a few ROLEX pieces. the pelagos is my daily watch. the blue, bracelet, hands, - and tremendous LUM . I like the date , maybe a cyclops would be great, but ... . for me this piece is nicer than the 39 FXD. nice breakdown CH ~. JDS/CT
I would pick Pelagos 39 but I’m waiting for new colors
I came thisclose to buying the Pelagos 42. I just could not un-see the entire paragraph of text on the dial. I knew it would bug the heck out of me. Hence, I wound up purchasing the white dial Seamaster Pro 300M Diver, aka the GOAT. 😊 (It’s the watch I’m wearing right now!)
Totally with you on this. Just looks awful to me 😂 I had an SMP300 and loved it. I think you made a wise choice but I may be biased lol
It already says Chronometer, why bother with "officially certified" and Rotor Self-Winding FFS! I agree but I picked up an FXD (at least it's only 4 lines, 2 too many IMHO) but in wearing for about a year I really don't notice it anymore... well until I read this post LOL. On my wrist today Longines Conquest 41 😁
The blue is more of a jean 👖 blue. Not sure how I feel about this tone as I don't where denim at all.
Wearing the Oris Aquis GMT.
Great watch
I’ve got the Pelagos LHD on and it’s the best Pelagos 😎
Fake patina is yuck.
No mines the best 😆
I'm not normally a Tudor fan, but I quite like the 42mm Pelagos. Not sure about the essay on the dial though.
Today's watch is the Tag Heuer Aquaracer GMT.
Great content! I’m, patiently, for a 39mm. On the wrist today..BB Pro 😊, but I’d happily swap it out for a PRX in Mint Green!
Super review thanks Harrison.
On the wrist ... a microbrand diver .. my new Forteller Cambrian full lume dial.
Good Review. What I don’t understand is why people do not focus on the Lug to Lug measurement. This is more important than the case diameter. Exactly if it had of been a 40 maybe but it’s just a bit to small for me as well I’m leaning towards the 42
I'm wearing today a Seiko Samurai Great White Shark 😁😁😁
The last samurai is a beast
Currently wearing my new Tudor BB58. Love it
Wearing my Seiko Presage GMT
I have the 39 and FXD and prefer that combo. Love the Pelagos line and those two are so different from each other. Also prefer the FXD blue much more.
Wearing a Junghans Max Bill today - Great review!
I want to get the old Pelagos 2 liner next year. For now I’m wearing my hydroconquest.
42mm is the way to go 💪🏼
I like the blue tudor and I like also „big“ watches. At the moment I wear the Fortis Marinemaster 44 in orange. I also made now that drop on Instagram, because I would like the PRX 😉
Seiko 5 GMT is on my wrist today! Been hovering my finger over the trigger for a prx for ages too, will it be my lucky day who knows 😅
Half tempted by the Pelegos, but bought my new Omega Seamaster Diver 300m White face two days ago in CH when I was in Edinburgh which will be on my wrist for a while
I have a Mido Ocean Star GMT Hodinkee Edition on my wrist

SNK361 Seiko 5, flex on a budget
I'm wearing a Hamilton Khaki field mechanical
Great review I am leaning towards buying the 42mm in black but where can you find it (Brand New) at GBP3750 ? Thanks
I’m wearing the Seiko Cocktail Time (Presage) automatic. White sunburst dial, silver hands.
Wearing the 39 today, chose it over the 42 and would rather have a Sinn U50T over the Pelagos 42

Steinhardt GMT, but thinking about purchasing this watch.
At least the bezel doesn’t fall off the 42mm one🤔 although the lume will fall off the bezel instead 😂
My experience is that grade 2 titanium scratches easier than stainless matte finish or not.
I've got my g shock square on today and I would prefer the 42mm blue dail 😁👌👍
Seiko Speedtimer SSC813 :) poor mans Daytona lol
Wrist check, I’m wearing the Black Bay Pro
