Nice video. Got my Owon last year. I love it. Having a built in VOM and a scope in one package makes for a great portable trouble shooting tool. Like Carl Malden says, "Don't leave home without it !"
Barry
They are pretty handy, thanks for watching Barry
Excelent work! Thanks a lot.
Glad you liked it!
Happy Holidays and Happy New year 🎄 🎉 Thanks 👍 for sharing your knowledge with us
From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
Happy Holidays to you Nick!
i have that same exact model, super .. many thanks
So far, I’m pretty happy with it 👍
Thank you👍👍
You're welcome, thanks for watching 👍
Neat little device for sure. Could come in quite handy.
Yeah, I like it. Thanks for watching Brent!
More toys for the wishlist! 👍
It’s that always the case
"Probe Compensation Device" aka, the tiny screwdriver. Good video, liked the inset close up, easy for my old man eyeballs.
I am digging that ZV-1
@@TheSmokinApe Yeah, I'm glad I moved mine out to the overhead cam position. I still might get another one for the bench shots area, just so i have the same A/V
setup everywhere.
good content
Thanks!
Hello! I have a stupid question. Is this a good device for checking pure sine wave on inverters? Thank you for your video and time.
Yes, absolutely
Great video, I want one of these, I have no room for a desktop model, and my USB one is too big of a PITA to drag out each time and hook up, that and the software for it stinks.
The small form factor is a plus, these come with software too but I haven't tried it yet.
Great video! I just got one too. I have a question for you. When mine starts up, da ownload bar scrolls a couple of times before it gets to the scope screen. I have not seen other 2102 scopes do that on UA-cam videos. It's like it's looking for a file or something. It only takes a few seconds, so no big deal just curious to know if there's something wrong with mine or if it's a new firmware deal I have firmware version 2.0.4 Thanks
I checked my today for all three modes, it just starts no bar.
@@TheSmokinApe thanks! My FW is 2.0.4. Curious what yours might be.
Wow, 100 mhz bandwidth, in your hand!
Cool right?
Is it possible to use the signal generator and oscilloscope at the same time? Or do I have to have another signal generator to use owon as an oscilloscope?
Yes, you can use them at the same time.
Class was in session ..... Nice Ape! 73 - KF6IF
Haha, thanks Phil!
can the DMM be used while waiting for a trigger on the oscilloscope?
I don't think so...
OWON HDS2102S vs Tektronix THS720A
Which of these two devices would make sense to buy?
I think it might depend on what you want to do, I looked at both plus the Uni-T and landed on the Owon.
What was the model number for that wave form kit.
Here you go amz.run/5jZU
I've been temped to order one of these. I'm drawn to the OWON HDS2202S model, which is supposedly a 200Mhz version.
But what bugs me with all versions, is while these are supposedly dual trace, they come only with 1 probe. The rest of stuff included are just basic wires.
That's a deal breaker for me.
Two probes would be nice. And dang, I didn’t know they had a 200Mhz out!
@@TheSmokinApe Yeah, I saw the 200Mhz version, but I wondered if it's really different/updated hardware or if it's just special "firmware" to pretend that it can go that high. You know, perhaps some averaging and filters and the like.
But if it does work, I mean, even up to say 150Mhz, reliably, that would be amazing.
From another video it looks like the front end architecture is upgraded on the hds2202. Yeah I get the annoyance of not coming with 2 probes, but it’s not that much extra to add one. I suspect some folks will use these for automotive applications and are likely to be using one channel for an amp clamp, pressure transducer, or back probes.
@@JeffinTD Since my post, I ended up buying a FNIRSI 1013D.
I did have to carefully search to assure that I got an original product and not a knockoff.
It turns out to work nicely.
I did a bunch of tests, comparing it to my main scope and I'm quite satisfied.
But for anyone looking for any of these scopes, do the extra work to assure you get an original device and not a knock-off.
Good to know. That one is all over my feed but reviews have been mixed. Maybe knockoffs are why. DreamSourceLab ds4t1012 is interesting. No dmm but it does spectrum analysis. For my purposes (and skill level) I’d likely never use that. Memory depth and the ability to look at a long section of waveform will likely be more useful for me.
Had one of those in high school. Played a lot of Pac-Man and Tetris to pass the time lols jk
I wish I could get pac man working on this one
