I honestly hope we get something similar to Keyblade transformations in KH4. KH3 made Keyblades feel so significant and varied, between being able to level them up to keep them useful throughout the game, and giving each one unique transformations and skills.
At the very least they should keep the level up for the weapons. I usually collect every weapon available in a game and having even the older ones viable in the endgame is a great feeling.
Definitely, I love the concept of no Keyblade becoming obsolete
This is part of the reason why KH3 is my favourite. I so much prefer Formcahnges to Drive forms. So much more fun. Especially when combined with keyblade switching, you can do some crazy stuff.
i think we will get it in a way that we don't combo but use it as an attack like lingering will, like pressing triangle for a special attack with it transformed, get a good hits with the whip, or shoot a bazooka, but not in free flow combat
It would be cool if one Keyblade Transformation FINALLY grants Sora Keyblade Armor, most likely one being Ultima
favorite keyblade transformations: ultima weapon, oathkeeper, oblivion, classic tone, wheel of fate, ever after
generic
I Love double arrow guns.🥺
Sad that we didn't get a scythe transformation
My favorite (excluding Double Form and Ultimate Form since they're goated for obvious reasons) would have to be the various Wheel of Fate transformations. The spear movement is just so great animation-wise and for crowd control. But special shout-out will always be had for Hero's Shield for changing the game in critical mode 😰 and Nano Gear for Limit Cut bosses stun protection (specifically Saix, Xemnas' laser dome, and Xion) ☠️.
"how much fun sora has"
editor: and i took that personally.
😂😂😂
I do like hero shield, guardian form is SO damn useful to have for all it's defense abilities.
The Hunny Spout and Classic Tone also use Guardian Form.
@@terraventusaqua123 I thought hunny spout and classic tone used agile and assualt forms respectively, since dual arrowguns and the hammer/drill weapon archetypes use those forms respectively?
@@Arcana_zero_studios The Shooting Star uses the Element Form (blue clothes) which prioritizes abilities that assist in Magic use. The Favorite Deputy uses Strike Form (red clothes) which prioritizes abilities that assist with physical attacks.
Just because the keyblade’s transformations are pallet swaps doesn’t mean SORA’S Formchanges follow suit. (Pun intended)
its their alternative to reflect from kh2
Funny thing did you know that Yo-yo's were actually used for hunting weapons once apon a time?
Yes, but they were a lot sturdier than the modern toy.
@@HenshinFanatic didn't say they weren't honestly I don't remember what they were made from
That's probably a myth
@@baitposter actually no its historical fact tribes used yo-yos and other string weapons for hunting
@@DraconicDarkness
Which [plural] tribes?
Where did anyone use a yo-yo over a bow, sling, spear, javelin, or boomerang?
Honestly, my playthrough load out became Wheel of Fate, Shooting Star and Ever After, and I got very comfortable with that combo
Dude, Sky! That transition at 2:56 was so dope :)))
I havent finished KH 3 yet, But my personal favourite is the Shooting Star, I just felt really badass when I was dual wielding crossbows and having t hat giant Bazooka. I never really Noticed how slow it was, I just loved how mobile I felt during it and that I shot bullets when dodging. Idk maybe I was a bit biased, but recently the Yo yo has gotten really into my zone too, cause the giant clam animation is just so funny.
I’m new to this series, just finished KH3 CM run and loved it so much. Currently on my journey on starting the series chronologically. WML!!!
One thing to note about the "pallet swap" transformations is that though they function the same in terms of attack combos, they have different forms attached to them. Example: When Sora activates Hero's Origin's Formchange, he switches to Guardian Form (yellow clothes), a defensive transformation, and gains access to the ability Barrier which grants him an omnidirectional Guard when you're pressing Square. Grand Chef's transformation does not have access to Barrier because its Formchange causes Sora to switch into Blitz Form (green clothes), a movement-oriented transformation and get access to extra Air Slide and Aerial Dodge ability nodes as well as Glide if you don't already have it equipped.
Thought y'all should know.
Quite unfortunate he didn’t talk about them in this list, the actual Drives already get overlooked so much for the weapon given.
Man I love using transformations in KH3 but I wish they had just saved Aqua at the beginning of the game so she could’ve taught us how to do it (and shotlocks). I’ve just got a problem with how the series and other games like it will randomly give you abilities with no explanation.
Outside of the super powerful ones like Ultima oathkeeper and oblivion, my favorite story keyblade is ever after and I think it deserves more love.
Reject melee
Embrace ~Magic~
*proceeds to make a dozen clones, and just rain hell fire
Just as a note, they aren't *truly* just palette swaps in KH3, since the alternate keyblades not only have different abilities tied to them, but put Sora in a different *form* than eachother.
Take that first pair, for example:
Double Arrowguns/Magic Launcher put Sora into Element Form, which boosts his magic and long-range capabilities, while Hunny Blasters/Hunny Launcher put him into Guardian Form, which boosts his defensive capabilities.
It's very hard to pick anything other than Oathkeeper&Oblivion, but I have a severe soft spot for Twin Yo-yos because it's such a fun idea. The PotC spear is also pretty sweet to play with.
The Magic Staff from Rapunzel has to be my favourite though. Agile Mage is just my all time favourite playstyle no matter what the game.
I loved the hero shield so much that I just ran with it through the entire game. But now out of all the keyblade transformations, oblivion and wheel of fate is the greatest forms for me. They're just too cool.
Getting both Oathkeeper and Oblivion took me over a week to obtain. Double is easily my all time favorite as well.
I mained the Hunny Spout for my entire gameplay.
I’ve always been a fan of using the “silly” keyblades to take on the serious bad guys.
Also yellow is my favorite color.
It also gives Sora access to Barrier since it’s a defensive keyblade.
My favorite transformations in no order were Ultimate Form, Dark/Light Form and Double OBV/OKP, Boom Hammer and Clock Drill, Highwind and Storm Flag, all of the Second Forms, and finally, Agile Claws and Twin Yo-Yos
Best transformation is Dark Form for me. Oblivion was my favorite keyblade from KH1 and I always liked villains over heroes (most of the time). To see it come back and be able to wreck things up is amazing.
Also, I was wondering, do you have any Kingdom Hearts Hot Takes (something only you and 1-2% of the fans like?)
man I know its been a while but it's just so nice seeing you back and making content again :)
I remember seeing the kh3 designs at an event in London! Seeing the keybalde transformations art was mind blowing back then.
The hype was real and I’m pretty sure they showed off some stuff at that event that never made it onto the game, example it showed Sora in the chest room.
Sure it was an in development showcase but I kinda thought it was going to be in the game at the time.
I loved the transformation it's so hard to choose which one is my favorite. I loved the transformations and they remind me of the Final Fantasy series classes.
Sky, transformations might be coming back. I always think that the chain we saw is actually the transformation for the kingdom key maybe. It makes so much sense due to kingdom key not technically having one in 3. I kinda hope that's the case
I love the transformations and what they give😊
i think lore wise sora will have learned how to use keyblade transformation more eficiently in kh4, so he can use them on the fly to do all sorts of crazy things with the kingdom key, much like lingering will, so they actually are an integral part of gameplay all the time and can be accessed out of combat.
I personally hated the tangled worlds giant heartless boss near Rapunzel’s tower I thought it took way too long to fight when playing kingdom hearts my favorite part of the series is the tight combat and that boss was extremely tedious to fight because of how far it would move from you every time you do a certain amount of damage
The shooting star had double flight so one could better position themselves
The rocket launcher also gave Sora a dashing ability. So I think the hey was just to okay keep away, while pelting the enemy with concussive explosions.
I think my favs are Wheel Of Fate and Ultima. But I also like that some of the transformation change the playing style a lot.
This was just posted. Nice!!!!! I love KH content. You just gained a subscriber
Maybe the Ratatouille Keyblade turns into a frying pan because Sora already went to Tangled’s world and saw how useful a frying pan is in combat. So he was like ‘It’s on brand for the type of Keyblade this is and they are surprisingly useful in combat…I’m doing it!’
My favorites are the Oathkeeper and Oblivion at the top, Ultima Weapon right below, and lastly the absolute most emotional one, Starlight. Everything else is kind of mixed for me. Some of them I absolutely hate while others are cool, but those are my top three. Though...can we just talk for one hot minute about the Ultima Cannon transformation Lingering Will used?! That is the coolest! I sincerely hope Terra will continue to be part of the story to redeem himself from how... gullible he was in BBS, and that he will pull out this transformation when he has to throw hands.
Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, this was truly a very interesting and fun mechanic/feature, I really hope we get to see at least something like this again at some point,
Though, if not Keyblade Forms, i do hope we still get Keyblade Transformations in a different way,
which I do wonder, what kind of mechanic/feature do you think we’ll see in KH4?
I hope that more defensive transformations show up in the series. It would just feel fun for me specifically.
fun fact, Yo-yos was a war weapon once in the War of Magilan :)
Something that makes me like kh3 sora the most are probably the formchanges. They are really fun as well as providing a unique set of abilities through lockshots, exclusive abilities and gameplay style changed you can switch between, making hard boss fights even more fun for me as i try to find the most optimal set of keyblades and when to use which one's ability meanwhile fighting with the already hard boss
5:11 The animation for that one is so *_cool_*
Like the vid before I even saw one second been waitin in this one 👌🏽
Dawn 'til Dusk was a 7/11 promo in Japan, hence the name and colors
The frying pan was definitely my favorite. Worked so hard to get it by perfecting all the bistro recipes and the finisher is great.
Dawn til Dusk was originally a 7/11 Bonus in Japan and they made it an Amazon keyblade everywhere else
For starlight it was giveaway during kingdom hearts mobile game if you beat all led games high score they will give you the code and use starlight keyblade right form the start of the game
I always wish we had gotten something like kingdom key+ that would be an endgame kingdom key with its own keyblade transformation.
Great video!! 👍
My top 3 are
1. Double Form
2. Ultimate Form
3. Rage Form
My play style in any game is all about aggression and mobility. Since I'm at my best when I can go full kill with my speed and power, those 3 forms are king.
I will give credit to Wheel of Fate's Highwind and Storm Flag because they come close to that level of aggression and turn Sora into a bit of a Dragoon.
Would have to say my favorite Keyblade was Wheel of Fate, the Pirates of Caribbean key
The lance was just nice quick and fun
And the flag was stylish while keeping the overall same fluidity
What?! Shooting star was my go to. Its actually very op and i beat the new org all at once with the magic the cannon uses.
WAIT NANO GEAR HAS STUN PROTECTION? IF ONLY I KNEW I JUST BRUTE FORCED MY WAY THROUGH ALL THE DATA BATLES AND I WAS PLAYING CRITICAL MODE AS WELL
6:33
“And here comes the giant fist!!”
For me its similar but personally love blizzard blades, nano arms, and double form the most also ultima statistically is like the 4th or 5th strongest keyblade in the game if you do the damage calculations cause of cufflinks and elemental boost abilities. Crystal Snow is the actual strongest keyblade in the game and the only one where you could get over 100% extra elemental damage boosts with 2 blizzard cufflinks or a blizzard cufflink and 2 celestriads and the keyblade having blizzard boost as an ability and not only that but the keyblade transformations all do blizzard physical damage so you get super buffed with blizzard boosts stacked and of course sora learns combo and air combo boost and add in how blitz form gives the lowest revenge values of all times to enemies and bosses making crystal snow absurdly powerful. The elemental keyblades in 3 are busted which is super refreshing to see compared to how they usually stack up in the series. Its gonna be hard for KH4 to surpass the gameplay and experience KH3 offered but they can do it and one great thing thats seemingly being brought back is reaction commands which were introduced in 2 hopefully the reaction commands hit hard though unlike how they were in 2fm. More hoping to see flowmotion in KH4 return than keyblade transformations and hopefully some new additions and ideas being revisited like maybe bringing back grand striker and grand slam abilities from days and critical boost back.
My favourites Keyblade transformation is the crystal snow as ngl it has helped me through a lot
My favorite keyblade from KH3 is the Honey Spout. The keyblade itself looks great and I love the transformation.
The other two I used the most during my KH3 run was the Toy Story keyblade and Frozen keyblade. I love the toy story keyblade transformation and how it looks. I don't like the frozen keyblade look, but I like the ice kating for the transformation.
my most used keyblade in KH3 was the hunny spout i literally cheesed every boss fight with the hunny blasters the 3 ketblades i had equipped endgame was the hunny spout, favorite deputy and ultimate weapon, favorite deputy was only there for the lucky chance ability
I need to replay KH3 again. It’s my favorite game and I haven’t touched it in like a year even though I think about it all the time.
My favorite keyblade transformations are:ultima and favorite deputy. I used those a lot when doing critical mode.
Man, if only Sephiroth were in KH3, I would've loved to kick his ass with a
F L A G P O L E
my favorite keyblade form is the yoyo from the monster inc keyblade
fell in love with them as soon as i saw them in a trailer
I don't have Classic Tone or the cooking one bc I'm not a masochist, but I'm on my way to unlocking Ultima Weapon and Oblivion.
My top 5 Formchanges (so far):
1. Oathkeeper: [Double Form OKP]
(Makes me feel like I'm burying the light)
2. Midnight Blue (PS4 exclusive): [Second Form M]
(Using Ars Arcanum gives me KH2 nostalgia+Keyblade can generate Blizzaza Commands at random)
3. Wheel of Fate: [Highwind]
(Using a spear to slice AND stab is the coolest thing ever+does more DMG than Storm Flag)
4. Wheel of Fate: {Storm Flag}
(Reminds me of old Lightsaber duels+Finish Command)
5. Crystal Snow: {Blizzard Blades}
(I love both ice skating and rollerblading so fighting with that is cool)
Honorable mention:
Nano Gear: [Nano Arms]
(Visuals are second coolest of all my Keyblades, and I LOVE the idea of combining attacks from all the other Forms, but It lacks any real gap closer, Finish Command is mediocre, and it doesn't do much DMG overall.
Also, the attack taken from Favorite Deputy's Drill Punch form has Flowmotion VFX, but it doesn't actually start Flowmotion.)
one of the reasons i like crystal snow is because it gives you glide very early when transformed
Just happened to open UA-cam and this was just posted, first and only time i'll get that lucky
Honey Spout is my favorite, I'm sad it's at the bottom... but at least it's a spot above the Star Seeker lol
I've not started my own playthrough yet but the keyblades that speak to me the most are Crystal Snow and Wheel Of Fate
Bruh what the happy gear and crystal snow key blades had to be the most vicious key blades available mid game. Legit felt like a beast with those two
Bruv ever after has single handedly overshadowed my love for caster gameplay. I need more adventure adtion games that give me this level of power and fluidity. On top of that the yoyo from happy gear goes so hard.
My favorite keyblade transformation belongs to Wheel of Fate, my favorite keyblade, My Favorite Disney world in KH3, and the keyblade turns into a harpoon in a form called highwind that allows Sora to perform combos similar to my favorite classic Final fantasy Job: the Dragoon, then it can transform into the storm flag! Hoist the colors me hearties! And it's such a unique weapon then throw on the kraken style finisher and you have such a cool keyblade!
I've gotta go with the Favorite Deputy. Favorite world in KH3, favorite Keyblade in KH3, favorite all time movie, it's just perfect! Runner up(s) would have to be Hunny Spout and the Ultima Weapon lol
Nice video not sure if your interested. There are a bunch of character mods with their own unique forms with mechanics. Not all of them are covered yet but would like your take.
For me I loved kingdom key. The pirate one, and nanogear
I enjoy your videos, bro
Chef key blade transformation. Love the frying pan shield
I do hope Keyblade transformations and upgrading comes back. It helped keep them fresh and not just tossed away constantly.
But i do hope they make the base weapons more distinct (?)
Like my issue with form changes, the Olympus Shield and Frying Pan in particular, they still share the same base gameplay of 'mash X'
Once you get the transformation is when you get the actual perks and differences
Like i would just like to see how the base weapons could work if given the perks, or partial perks, and the transformations gave you the more buffed up variants (ex: Reflect, Reflectra, Reflectga or Ora, Orara, Oraga, etc)
The Wheel of Fate is one of my many favorites that makes sora play as a Dragoon
My favorite deputy took me to the end of the game. The hammer was just so satisfying ;-;
🤔my favorites transform i used was ultima keyblade, high tide, and starlight key, but when remind came out I switch out the high tide and starlight and used oblivion and oath keeper instead, cant beat the dual wielding
Hero’s shield is my least favorite. I can never seem to time it right and the chariot finisher sucks cause it makes you move around the area your in with no control
crystal snow is my fav i used it for every data fight it does extra damage vs saix when hes in rage mode.
0:14
Ooh, I love that mod
Its kinda sad that many of the keyblades are either reskins of existing transformations, only single stage transformations, or a combination of both.
The pirates and big hero are the most unique of the keyblades not counting the transformations from ultima and the dlc
My favorite is storm flag but you must not know how to use shooting star keyblade transformation because it helped me in critical mode especially in the beginning
The Oathkeeper/Oblivion dual wield was fun and nasty
Ultima broken
I do incredibly like the Monster's Inc dual Yo-yo form
I can keep going cause I like all of them
But my favorite goes to Frozen's, such a make up for the world and I'm a sucker for claw related weapons
My top 5:
1. Ultima Final Form
2. Oathkeeper/Ovlivion Double Form
3. Ever After Mirage Staff
4. Shooting Star Crossbows
5. Crystal Snow Blizzard Claws
My favorite keyblade transformation gotta be either Wheel of Fate and Happy Gear before remind came out. Wheel of Fate mainly because Sora wield a polearm since I absolutely love people who wield that type of weapon and then the animation for the transformation is everything I like teleportation and flashy attack. Then Happy Gear I just love the fact that Sora wield yo yo to attack since normally yo yo are toys not weapon and then it involved into claws which I personally enjoy.
Then after remind I enjoyed oathkeeper and oblivion because they the goat.
Mine are Ultima, the oathkeeper, oblivion, and gun magic arrow in both versions.
My fav Keyblade is classic tone. How they make some move black and white.
second form and double form/light and dark form is in the rotation for me all the time
ever after is my favourite and it goes hard. i unironically used 3 magic increasing rings. and only used ever after and beat the game only dying i think 3 times 2 of which were saved because of coin.
(discluding ultima and oathkeeper/oblivion)
Favorite was the basic one you get with the kingdom key and I used it throughout the entire game
To this day, that light blast from that magic staff was my carry, i upgraded that thing so fast it wasnt even funny and i spammed the hell out of it
In my opinion I wish they used the Caribbean keyblade as a cutlass or rapier sword themed keyblade, well cuz they use cutlasses
I like infinity badge better since it references both woody and buzz instead of favourite deputy being all woody
As you said I think KH4 will have its own thing regarding transformations as we've already seen in the trailer, but I think that revealed even more, my theory is that those things Sora summons (the hook, drill, chain etc.) Are not powers from the Kingdom Key but frlm the X blade, as they look similar to the golden construxts Xehanort creates during your fights with him
Xehanort officially bequeathed it to Sora and it was never destroyed, I think KH4 growth will be about Sora learning to make the power of the X blade his own not only in combat but also with traversal skills like hooking onto far away objects, maybe mastering the full abilities of this, the true primordial keyblade, will be the key (pun intended) that will allow Sora to leave Quadratum and maybe even open the black box and save everyone from UX
Problem with your theory is the X-blade requires/ed 7 lights and 13 darknesses to forge and well Sora saved Kairi which means there is not enough lights and darknesses combined anymore so he lost it shortly after most likely cause if he still had it he would have likely used it against Yozora as well. Kinda glad how the X-blade works though cause if it could be kept that would be way too op canonically at least and also KH got sealed again as well.
@@dave9515 ....it is already forged my guy, it doesn't need to CONSUME hearts in order to be forged, just have them clash, the blade Xehanort used is now in Sora's possession, there's no need to forge another one
If I had to guess… kh4 will have keyblade form changes, but to a lesser extent.
Im guessing… that they’ll get watered down to movement abilities and special skills.
Kinda like that system from ff9. Or the drives growth abilities from kh2.
If there’s one thing I noticed, is that on kingdom hearts, shiny objects from previous game’s return, but get watered down, to make room for the new shiny objects.
So maybe… form Changes return but the keyblades have growth abilities, that allow Sora to tap into specific skills without needing to keep the keychain equipped.
So the version of Sora we see, is probably one with multiple growth abilities acquired. 🤔
Just a thought.
100% I always have the Kingdom Key slotted. Even if its not as good. I like the combo chain. It's very nostalgic 😅
I can't say I have a favorite transformation since I have not played the latest kingdom hearts game but I do have a favorite fighting style.
Ever since kingdom heart 1 in terms of melee I loved being able to block and quick dash attacks.
Don't get me started on Terra's Dark Dash. I would spam that as much as I could.
As for favorite spells I got 5 and there upgraded version. Barrier, Blizzard, Thunder, Cure and Gravity.
In a fight am not that good with bosses but I love taking out as many small guys as fast as possible before attacking the bigger enemies.
So if anyone has a recommendation to which transformation would work best for me I'd like to know in case I pick up the game.
Short version: Quick flashing multi-kill is the game for me.
My favorite goes to wheel of fate - happy gear - crystal snow - ever after and nano gear
Hands down my favorites max level kingdom key second form, honey 🍯 spout honey guns, and the pirates wheel of fate flag pole
You gonna rank the kh2 drive forms too?
Magic roulette is also on the switch one I used it for my entire plythrough
I wish I could trigger the transformations with something similar to KH2 Turbo Gauge instead of having to build up meter with attacks.
I tend to be pretty critical of KH3's game design in general, but Formchanges are something that I genuinely love and really hope to return and be iterated upon as the series continues.
I love the nano gear keyblade
Is it possible that you’ll rank the team attacks?
