I got this guy in today and combined him with Starsaber, he is HUGE combined as Victory Saber yet the Simba suffers from a couple of poor desgin choices, mainly in regards to how the combined mode feet attach, if only they had used the connectors provided instead of the holes on the back. Victory Saber within my collection has become one of the tallest bots I know of, he talker than my TFC Devestator, for now, he using the wall to help him stand due to the joints issues thou I've now ordered a upgrade kit to enable me to upgrade his joints, that will be fun to do

what an incredible piece of art, absolutely fantastic.
I got to handle this during last week's toyshow since Eric from Madhaus was nice enough to let us handle it with care.
It's a great figure on it's own, even if you don't own Star Saber it's a fantastic addition to any collection with it's size, detail, quality and three solid modes.
Hey Ben. Thanks to you I picked up both star saber and victory Leo. they are awsume man. I love how cool Leo looks in lion mode. I also looked up some of the Transformers victory episodes. man can't get over how cool anime is compared to us toons.

I'm still hoping for an official Masterpiece Victory Leo that combines with MP Starsaber. MP Starsaber turned out to be a lot better than expected and an official MP Victory Leo could be quite impressive if made well.
The size in both modes when combined might even be the same as shown here with the third party one, that would be impressive.
I personally don't really care for Star Saber or Victory Leo, but I have to say, KFC looks to have done a great job in making a figure that matches style and look, and colours quite accurately to the MP Star Saber, well enough to make me care about that figure!

I rotated the large lower arm piece 180 so the large hump is at the back now, and he can hold the cannon ok. I still have the original hands as well.
Outstanding! KFC did what Takara did not. I love it when third parties fill in the gaps left open from official releases and I love it better when those offerings are of the same quality as official releases.
Sadly I missed out on this Masterpiece Star Saber. If I did have him I would definitely get SIMBA. I was able to back the HasLab Victory Saber but the quality of this KFC SIMBA and Masterpiece Star Sabre can't be denied. Thanks for sharing.

Oh thank you Ben. First time I saw this figure I was like "shut up and take my money" throwing my wallet at a facebook post of Simba. But this is KFC which has had a history, in which made me slam on the brakes. I did skip around your video (mostly all transformations, tired of every reviewers spoilers). This is a big buy for me and off to contact my seller. Thanks again.

We need new forearms. There is a lot of kibble behind the ankle. I do believe the back ankle pieces fliped up in the cartoon.
Since Energon Wing Saber is basically a homage to Star Saber does that mean that Cybertron Leo Breaker is basically Victory Leo? Probably not because Cybertron Wing Saber looks nothing like Star Saber and the Cybertron series was never intended to be a sequel to Energon.

RialVestro also Cybertron was intended as a sequel to energon but I believe may be not exact but something was mistaken and they made the series unintended independent
Jetfire48 There series was originally from Japan not the other way around. It was originally intended as a stand alone series. Hasbro made it a sequel when it wasn't suppose to be. So no Cybertron was not intended to be a sequel to Energon.
Don't you think it's weird that the main human cast from Armada had returning roles in Energon but the humans from the previous two series are never even mentioned in Cybertron? There is a still shot that I think was shown in one episode but in case you didn't know that shot was not in the original Japanese version of the series. Hasbro stuck that in the American dub just to tie it in as a sequel. Galaxy Force (The original Japanese title of Cybertron.) was never intended to be a sequel.

i understand this is a pre-production sample. but is the mold going to be improved in any way? im slightly disturbed by that flat orange panel on his arms looked unfinished, and the lion sculpt kinda look like a walrus with ears. plus a little more panel-lines would do no harm. great review btw. definitely helped me with my PO.

They don't have to be , you can twist the lower legs to avoid the side knees
That's a relief. You made it sound like having the knees pointing inwards was detrimental to the poseability, so I wasn't sure why you wouldn't just have them the regular way. Thanks for replying.

star saber can't hold that cannon upright, can he.
Have you had any issues on getting the top tab/latch to stay down when tabbing onto Star Saber's backpack? Mine doesn't want to stay put.

I'm 38. I really really want to buy. I have the G1 star saber and I've been religiously collecting before 16. I sold everything since.
Question. Should I even buy? I felt I shouldn't owned too much stuff. As I'm an adult. But they so give me back so many memories. I'm afraid they will go back to junkyard or sold again.
Never watched Victory, but this figure makes me want, no need Starsaber to go with it, I could see myself displaying as seperate bots actually, as Leo looks awesome by himself.

The whole boot.mode is hold just by one tiny peg? man thats scary, the beast legs could borrow some of the MMC Predacons transformation to peg in botmode, and well, this is a personal opinion, I don't like the fat cat head and spread front paws, still a good option if you can't wait for an oficial version.

Where are people deciding to put the Autobot symbol? I can't really find an image online from the cartoon where it's located and I don't totally trust the other artwork and previous toys for location.
The original Victory Leo had Autobot symbol in the middle of the waist, it splitted in two when he combined with Star Saber.

You got your info partly wrong, God Grini (Power Master Optimus with Apex armour) leads the Autobots in Masterforce, well from part of the way through but in the Victory series he mortally wounded in battle, thus gives up his life to create another lifeform which is Victory Leo

Lio Convoy aka Leo Prime is from BWII. Super God Ginrai aka Apex Powermaster Prime becomes Victory Leo.

Hey Ben big fan of yours.. Quick question.. did you do a review on Hades? i looked around but i didnt seem to find it.. did you mention what happened in any if your vids? i may have missed it.
I know it's probably G1 accurate and all, but the upside down lion head on jet mode looks kinda goofy. But, it looks like you can just turn the head around.
I wasn't looking to get another figure, certainly not one this size, but damn you've tempted me.

2023 here. Haslab did it better. Simba is such an unfun chore to combine with Star Saber.

star saber wasn't really slavish to the animation he still had all the detail from the toy it seems most detail not on it where just stickers on the toy
