Sounds great! I don't actually think holding the pedal to the floor works to cut fuel until 04/05+ models when they switched to drive by wire. I've tried in cable drive cars and they've fired right up, of course. There is no fuel pump specific fuse and the relay is either in the passenger side kick panel by the door or up under the driver side of the dash. Fairly easy to unplug, but still a hassle. I generally just unplug the crank sensor because you can usually reach the connector right under the alternator. Kills fuel and spark. You've ended up with a pretty wild machine here!
Thanks Aaron! Yeah it was definitely still getting fuel, could smell it pretty good, I probably cranked longer than I needed to but I had changed the oil during the time that it was sitting as well so I wanted to make sure. I’m real happy with how it sounds and runs, I was nervous the MAF was going to act up because it has a shielded wire in that harness and I built my own shielded wire on my extension harness… guess that worked LOL! (I have heard of other people having problems with extending mass airflow harnesses) I just can’t wait to drive it now.
LOL! I did briefly consider doing something almost as ridiculous… I was thinking when I got all done I should pull all the Subaru drivetrain out and swap in an Audi drivetrain!🤣
I am impressed at your determination.
Thanks and great to hear from you!
Saaame!
Whoa, It fired right up, that is awesome. Your exhaust seems to be quiet, your diy muffler worked. That front end looks great.
Thanks! Yeah I’m pretty happy with how everything is turning out.
