First off, it's not a Maybach, it's a Taxicab with a 2 litre 4 cylinder economy engine. Second, a torque wrench is necessary to insure that things such as the connecting rods or main caps don't come loose. I give that engine about 200 miles before it's totaled by something coming loose and that is only if it driven at 30 mph or LESS. BTW, it's also not 50 years old, it's late 80-'s or later.
I give the engine 0 miles before something comes loose... He spray painted the interior of the engine including the lifters and springs, not to mention there are no gaskets installed... This is a staged "find" and just for click bait.
I had a S650 Maybach super sports car just like this, paid about 2k for it back in the early 2000's, it was the 190E special taxi version. If this is 50 years old, I've just had my 130th birthday...

Very interesting video, fellas. I really enjoy restoration projects. However, in the future, make sure that when you stage your finds, there's no "green" grass under a car that's been sitting for years.
Why do they do this "finding a project" thing in the wild? Why not just start at the shop? Also, not 50 years old :-) I am drawn to restoration videos too, but they need to keep it real.
I laughed out loud watching this Benny Hill video. I learned that with a pair of tongs, a brush broom and a few blows of the hammer, you can get the Barbie doll's car with the usual high quality of Asian industry and an acute concern for ecology and recycling. Thank you for helping to save the world, your contribution is invaluable. 🤣🤣🤣
I never thought I'd see so much wrong done to a single car in my lifetime, and I've seen some pretty bad things. Congratulations, I couldn't do worse. And about that engine, I don't think you can make an engine run without any piston ring and with all that paint inside, so you probably got another one and put in there. But if by any means you made that engine run and move the car, I'm buying an old Mercedes tomorrow because that's probably the only thing we'll be able to drive after the machines take over.

It's so much easier to fit the pistons without rings, they just slide right in, lol.

Aaaaaalter, was für eine top-professionelle 1a+-Windows-off-Restauration eines 50 Jahre !!! alten Mercedes W124 E230 4-Zyl. Maybach S650 R(atte), Bj. 84-97.
God damn lol. My local scrapyard would be ashamed to have this. The literal definition of bondo buggy was demonstrated in this video
Great and very refined way of removing the windshield 😢😢
Not a S-Class or Maybach, just a Mercedes benz E-Class type W124, produced from 1984 to 1997, guess with 3 litres engine. Nice interior btw, .....
Obviously the asian people have no clue of eu cars!
Watching for the comedic aspect. Nice rust removal and love the use of the belt sander just for starters!
yea and perfectly just covering rust with plaster and filler will never have issues, gonna use that trick on my cars in the future :D
Took a $50 car and turned it into a $20 car
Who knew? When you paint a hose/wire/casting/alternator/oil filter...... it makes them brand new!
Interior looks mint condition 😂😂😂
This must be Stuggart. All the factory techniques on show 😁
Looks like a magic hammer!!! It does everything!!!!
50 years old, huh? I must be older than what my birth certificate says...
Is a late 80''/early 90''...not 50 at all
I agree…and I don’t think it’s Maybach either

A curious way to remove the front windshield, I have been in the restoration business for years and today I learned how to "forcefully" remove a piece that I usually do in a less aggressive way.... As we say in Spain: Each teacher uses his book at his convenience.
I had the same thoughts as you.Breaking all the glass on the windscreen when it is obvious it comes out in one piece. The whole job was terrible, there would have been oil all over the place, and then a dead engine.if he was able to start the car, which I very much doubt. James😊
Smooth paint, Nice colour 😂😂
For a Trip to the junkyard it will probably be enough.!
😂😂😂😂
Prefiero ir en bici !!!
I'm interested in knowing how the union between the hot oil and the paint is doing, also the painted pulleys vs the belt.
Exactly. Can you IMAGINE the inside of that poor engine after a few days? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@jakubkrcma 53:07 no rings and pistons facing different directions.
@@bills6093 Yep, professional work. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought they want directly spray the tires together with the rims too lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Good job! You did amazing job with the tools you had, rebars and hammers, chisels and a toothbrush! And the color is probably what you could afford. It is much better to restore it than let it rust in the middle of nowhere. Safe driving!
Could be wrong but I think you may have uploaded this one already🤗🤗🙂. What happens to it at the end? How does it look?
He just covered up the rust with bondo. The rust will come through in no time.
I was just thinking the same thing ? Was that magical rust curing body filler ?
This Mercedes deserves more love than this.. Give it more time and research dude
I love how the car was found with the window down yet the interior is untouched by the weather.
great plastering skills. all you really need is a wooden spoiler
From now on, i will always paint my crankshaft! 😅
and a valve springs :)
at the end the real car owner will claim it back as stolen one
you know when you usually paint a engine it is wise to FRICKIN MASK IT OFF also the oil pan bolts just pissesme the frick off
At the end it does basically look brand new though - anyone could be fooled by the super slick finish in factory pink.
Set on fire 🔥 👌 earthly fire the interior wast burnt in my picture ...
