Sounds great! I’m a little confused. Is the resonator the only thing was deleted from the stock exhaust? I’m trying to do a similar job on my wife’s ST. I’d love to get a Borla Atak but my budget is tight due to my beer drinking and grilling everyday habits lol.
Great video! I did the same thing on my 2014 FE Sport. However, I added an X pipe which gave it a much throatier sound. I really like the difference without spending 1k on exhaust system
Sounds almost like my 2016.3rd cat and res delete. My pipes are straight out the back. You need to cut those down tips off and get tips. That will give it a nice tune on idle.
Definitely the way to go, I might try the shortest, straight through resonator like a magnaflow, and go from there, then remove the mufflers, and go with bigger od pipe for the tailpipes, to get the sound deeper, and then finish the exhaust off, with black tips. Probably cost 400-500 bucks, but thats way better than 1200 for the Borla, and 1600 for the Corsa. Just research what they use for pipe, and mufflers, amd copy it! Thanks guys, for another money saving mod! Thats why I subbed, the homemade BOV works great, and for some weird reason, I seem to be getting better mpg since then.
The MPG change is interesting. You’d think it would go down as more mods usually means more aggressive driving 😅 glad you’re enjoying the DIY mods. It’s fun to hear others taking the advice we give 😁
@@NeverStock right! I thought it would go down cause I romp on it sometimes to hear it blow off. Its probably a coincidence that the mpg went up, cause our weather got better, humidity went down, temps got cooler, but, not having that hot recirculating air probably helps a bit.
Just got under mine, I dont have the valve! Mine is dual in, dual out, they must have changed the design mid year, as mine is a March 2020 build, anyways, on the ST forums, found a video of a guy who had a dual in dual out Magnaflow welded in, removed the rear suitcases, had straight pipe put in with black tips. Exactly how I want mine to sound, so I just called a good muffler shop and left a message for a quote.
Really makes no sound difference. I did this until I bought my cat back. The main reason why this is smart is because you increase flow on the exhaust by about 35% in addition to that you lose about 40 pounds. Switching to high flow cats are about 65% increase in flow. I have a highly modified ST and I can tell a difference on the mid and top end
We both think it was absolutely worth it. The custom system sounds so good now. It’s not too loud but it makes people know the car is no joke. And it cost a fraction of what a kit would cost.
Thanks Rob go subbing! We appreciate the support it means a lot to us! Early on supporters like you keep us going! We actually did a video on how to do a DIY BOV for the ST! You should check it out if you haven’t already 😁
So Corsa dropped their exhaust system, and the price, $1600!!! Thats ridiculous!!! There isn't that much material or fab work to justify the price, im going to an exhaust shop and do a custom system
Yeah some of the mods for this explorer are ridiculous! It’s definitely hard to justify the cost. The reality is someone out there had to create it so why can’t we right? Thank you for supporting our channel (:
I deleted removed the mufflers and kept the resonator. One big factor in my decision was the weight savings. Those mufflers are HEAVY!!!
Wonder how easy it would be to modify the resonator valve to stay open all the time or if it would even be worth it

Yes sir that is it! Just removed the resonator! Simple job and cheap! I spent about $75 to get it done!
Great video! I did the same thing on my 2014 FE Sport. However, I added an X pipe which gave it a much throatier sound. I really like the difference without spending 1k on exhaust system
Thank you! We do have a full custom exhaust on it now! The video is on our channel!
Nice. I just put a catback flowmaster in my 22 ST sounds so bassy it’s rad.

Yep cooler temps coming! It means the racing is going to be so much better! Will just miss the late night sun

How bad is the drone now?🥴
Crazy, I can't find that valve on my 2021.
Did it throw a code after taking off the active exhaust?
Are you planning to do a lot of mods to the ST?? I would like to follow along if you are.
If there is a valve, is it wired to anything? I have not got under mine yet to look.
Did they change the exhaust design at some point? My resonator is 2 pipes in 2 out and doesn't have any valve on it.
🤔 I don’t believe the design has changed....what year is yours? 20 or 21?
Just deleted muffler and resonator on my Lincoln Continental (Same Engine as your Explorer ST)
Nice! How does it sound? Do you like it?

Sounds like an 83 Chevy Celebrity I used to have with a bad muffler.
Sounds great guys!
Thanks again! We are trying different setups, that way we can find exactly what we like and everybody else in the car community can here it too!
Ok now it sounds like my car lol. Good video guys! Maybe we could race someday!
Thanks man! I’m down! Where do you live?
Was custom worth the money over this?

@@NeverStock what was the total cost?
That’s a good question let me check with Evan! I don’t remember how much he paid. I’m almost positive it was less than $500
Hey, Evan here. I paid just over $600 for the whole system
Does it have a bov?

@@NeverStock So does it have a bov? I love that sound and want it on mine. Great videos!
Also, what is subed? New to this. Thanks!
Awesome channel man. New subscriber here. 👍🏻
Thanks brotha! Appreciate it!
So strange how Ford does things. My ‘20 has a dual in/out resonator with no valve at all.
Yall should take it to a muffler shop and get them to throw in an x pipe.
You see the newest video? Full custom exhaust just done
@@NeverStock I'll go peep that
