As sundanese, I can't give you other recommendation than our tradition which called "Botram" (feast). A tradition happen after harvest season. Mostly it happened in rural areas in west java.
The menu is quite simple yet its simplicity made it special
The menu is
Nasi Liwet (sesoned/greasy rice)
Asin ( dried salted fish)
Tahu
Tempe
Sometimes with fried chickens or grilled chickens or grilles fish
Sambal terasi and sambal hijau
The most important thing is Lalaban (raw vegetables)
And wash it down with the warm tea.
I believe most of sundanese people will agree that botram is the great feast experience. Because it was served on big banana leaf and multiple of people will circle around it and had the feast
I believe one of your follower could recommend you the place that offer the authentic botram.
That would be an amazing experience
don't forget cah kangkung! botram on a banana leaf is not complete without cah kangkung 😄👍

Yupp bandung is city of delicious food in indonesia. Hope you can explore more & more food all over in indonesia which from sabang - merauke😂 i suggest you next go to Manado (north sulawesi) sir, & you can find a lot of spicy food in there bcs mostly food in manado has spicy taste like ayam rica rica, ayam/ikan woku,sambal dabu dabu, etc (sorry my english not good😄🙏)
