6:45 this moment was so powerful to me. Sunny finally opens his eyes and looks straight at the body after all that 6 minutes of calming down and persisting to gather the courage to do it. I like how determined he looks.
And mind you that is the first time in years he has that small white glow in his eyes again, just like everyone else. No more the eyes of a shut-in that only sees what suits him best.

5:33 - Sunny takes 143 damage. 1-4-3 used to be shorthand for I love you, representing the number of letters in each word. But it hurts Sunny to know that, despite her love, she’s dead now. It hurts, and it takes everything he has to persist and overcome.
A light bulb turning on symbolizes having an idea or maybe a memory. So a light bulb turning off may mean forgetting an idea, or maybe forgetting it on purpose and repressing it. Sunny destroyed the black light bulb means he's choosing to remember Mari's death and to confront it. In black space there was no light bulb, because one of the strangers in the beginning of black space say Omori took it, and when you learn the truth you get a light bulb and use it to see the photo of Sunny killing Mari. The details and symbolism in this game are amazing And also something I noticed the moves Sunny learns to deal with the fears, like calm down and focus, all change. Sunny breathes and focuses first and when he persists his eyes open a bit and when he's finally ready to overcome he fully opens his eyes because he's ready to overcome and confront his trauma
Something I haven't seen anyone mention. During the cutscene with Basil at the beginning, when it zooms out, you can see the silhouette of the lightbulb with Basil inside of it.
Poor sunny honestly Some people may say that its his fault but actually, it's really no one's fault, it was an accident. Everyone has accidents, some are problematic, some aren't. It happens, at least once in a life time, but eventually you'll have to move on from it, no matter how much it hurts, there's always light at the end of the tunnel
i mean technically it is his fault. He could’ve called 911 or told his friends about what happened but instead with the help of basil tries to stage it as a suicide. Although sunny wasn’t probably thinking straight if ya know, he killed his sister.
The fact that something just stands in front of you motionless in it’s normal form was maybe the scariest part for me tbh besides the big reveal of what something really is
Exactly. Every part of it is so heart-stoppingly horrific. The way it tips you off to what it is with the text and then confirms your fears that it's Sunny's worst nightmare, the way you have to hold out for so long, it's just such a good way of emulating the sheer terror Sunny felt there and how unbearable it is to have to look at the corpse of someone you care about.
Some other thing to notice here, is that inside the lightbulb after the fight is now white (or transparent), contrast to black inside of the white space's light bulb.
Actually, in all the battles when he's asleep or hallucinating, his eyes are closed in his neutral sprite, only in fights in the real world is when his eyes are open (Oh and also in the Recyclepath for some reason).
You feel like your life is in danger. Your lungs tighten up. Your heart beats out of your chest. Your fingers won't stop trembling. You hear your breathing begin to steady. You hear your heart begin to steady. You gather all your courage. and learn to OVERCOME.
This is probably my favorite sequence in the game. The way the music is just continued noise that gets higher and lower over time but never ceases. It always manages to get my breathing to stagger and it reminds me of how something appears in the game as well. Something never really does anything when he encounters it. It just stands in one place completely static until it vanishes when we get close to it. You don’t know why but the mere presence of it is enough to make you terrified. It’s what makes the reveal of its true form so powerful, because it makes so much sense yet it’s so sudden. From the very start of the battle sunny is confident and not afraid. He has all of the skills he needs to deal with his 3 fears. And as the player you also find comfort in knowing that you’ve done all of this before. And so the game immediately throws you into a situation you’ve never seen before and it creates an “oh fuck” moment from both sunny and the player. You can hardly see it but you still can tell what it is. You don’t want to believe it. And when you see the truth it physically hurts. It just makes it all the more powerful that it ends up being dealt with with the same formula as the other fears.
