The "Be Ok" part really spoke to me. I always feel like my friends are doing cooler stuff, have more fun, live life to the fullest and for some reason, I just don't understand this part of my life yet. But then I realize that we all feel this way. Everyone is on their own path and journey. Thanks for the reminder Joey!

Lord, I felt that on a personal level. I always see the stuff a friend of mine kept posting on whatsapp status and got so bitter and pissed that I deleted her number, it fucked me up so bad. Besides, we basically never write to each other in recent months or maybe even years so nothing of value was lost.
Anyway, I agree on the part of getting up earlier because summer mornings hit different, it's sooo good.

Just passing through to letting y'all know how much this guy has helped me. I started watching his channel back in 2020, looking to improve my life as I realized I wasn't doing too much with it, wasn't even feelling good with myself or actually being healthy at least.
I don't remember what was the 1st video I watched but I'm very grateful that I found the channel, I made a lot of changes, implemented some basic habits and started asking to myself if I was doing things right: It all changed, now I'm 5 or even 10 times better than 3 years ago in basically every aspect.
    Thank you.

The last tip was so relieving to hear. I literally felt like a weight just lifted from my shoulders. It's so hard not to compare yourself to others and feel like you aren't good enough but it doesn't help anything and they aren't doing as good as you think they are.

So wild that you posted this today because I was having a very similar thought this morning!! I decided to wake up an hour early so I could go for a walk with my dog before work. As I was walking, I noticed that an early morning walk had an entirely different feel than my afternoon or evening walks. I had no idea what made it feel more special, but you hit the nail on the head with talking about the magic of summer mornings! It really does feel so magical ☺️

Dude, I love your channel. I came across your,,”Your Life Was Already Decided”
video a few months ago. It gave me all the motivation I needed to reflect on my actions and put a plan in motion. I decided to specifically focus on my health and fitness and managed to lose 70lbs so far, with that video as the catalyst. This one is a nice reminder to “live life” too.

  • @whoareyou1034

"Be present, stop reminiscing on the past".
The moment I began living this principle I had less nostalgia and have been enjoying what I am doing more. Even mondaine things seem more adventurous and worth it. Appreciate the past, learn from it but don't try to live it.
Remember the best days are ahead of you.
Also, about FOMO, I be came a lot happier when I stop caring what everyone else was doing. Don't get me wrong, if a friend shares an experience with me I am happy for them and I will enjoy talking to them about it. However, I don't use social media to see what other people are doing and compare to what I am not.
Don't compare your life to others. See what needs to be done, try to do what you want to do and try to enjoy the mundane things of life.

Probably all of that… but I had a whisper of intuition saying: it’s way deeper, it’s the intention and the heart you put in them and your very own « presence ».

I'm going to be honest, as much as I love the summer vibes and how much other people seem to come alive, I sometimes wonder if I get seasonal depression that affects me in summer rather than winter. I live in a desert. It's hot. It's dry. Everything feels slow and heavy and the heat makes me drowsy and I need more sleep to feel rested. This year I've been trying to remind myself that I live in a the states that's known for outdoors recreation and that I should take advantage of that, and videos like this help me to keep my spirits up and get excited about living life. Thank you!

I got your videos in my recommendations a lot of times but I never really clicked until 2 weeks ago. You say things that I've heard before or things that I've known but dude you explain them in way that convinces me. I think I only watched 2-3 videos of yours and somehow it made me change my habits. And I've watched so many "motivational" videos in my life, every time I watched one of them of course I was telling myself "yeah I need to do that", "that's it I'm starting asap" yada yada. I only said things, I never changed anything. 3 videos of yours made me change everything in 2 days. I'm ejoying your videos so much, I'm always recommending your channel to other people cuz really what you do is crazy. Everyone including me has a good feeling about this year, especially this summer, I'm looking forward to do things and enjoy my time alone. 1. Wake up earlier to enjoy the magical aura of summer mornings and be part of the world waking up.
    2. Spend as much time outside as possible to avoid feeling isolated and potentially meet like-minded people.
    3. Optimize your environment to refresh and recharge you, making it easier to go out and enjoy the summer.
    4. Be present in the moment rather than trying to recreate past memories; focus on creating new favorable memories.
    5. Challenge yourself to do activities that are good for you, even if they might be uncomfortable at first, as they often lead to the best memories.
    6. Avoid comparing yourself to others on social media and don't fall into the trap of FOMO (fear of missing out).

I started this summer with the idea that I would go exercise, get myself in shape. Honestly, failed. For maybe a week or two it was working out, but then it got assigned a negative connotation in my mind when other people I have a clear disdain for wanted to always do it with me. So with that, and two vacations jammed into my summer, I basically just quit trying to get back into shape. I barely go outside every day if at all, and I've never really been the kind who wants to go hang out at someone else's house for hours or at all. In fact, I haven't been to someone else's house in years. I'm not chasing those golden years when I did, but I'm dreading every day I get closer to the peak of my life in college.
Honestly, a bit of a reason for some of these things is blaming myself/others (which does it count as?) for my lack of independence, but I'm hoping as soon as I have a license and can drive myself to the gym and better socialize with others, that I'll be able to fix myself.
Just kind of a rant. Thanks.

i would like to add something that helped me a lot with this problem, and that is to try and enjoy every season of the year (not only summer) as much as possible. it took me years to be able to enjoy winter after new years because i found it too depressive, but the last couple of years i found a way to appreciate it. now i can enjoy summer much easier because i don't anxiously await the beginning of it, and more importantly, i don't fear the end of it.

    • @bornajambrosic9680
      @bornajambrosic9680 Рік тому

@@stabletocity3976 i'm really not sure, but if i had to pinpoint some exact cause, i would say that it's because i gradually stopped seeing myself as a victim of life or that the world owes me something (if that makes any sense). i think that made me more disciplined and focused than i was before and drastically reduced fomo that i was experiencing for years. but just the absence of sun can be really depressing on a physiological level no matter how emotionally stable a person may be. i don't know, there is so much to be said and so many factors involved, i guess each one of us has a unique combination of causes and solutions so each one of us has to discover it for themselves, which takes years. so just don't give up searching and learning and we all might get there!

I’ve been trying to always get outside every single day when I have a day off. I’d like to have a conversation with some random stranger but I find it difficult as I have a hard time trying to pick a topic to discuss. It’s easier to have conversations with people I know because I’m already familiar with them. I do need to work on FOMO as so many of my friends’ pictures are so cool that I do feel a little down. However, I’ve been working on it and one always needs to remember that what you see on the Internet is not always accurate to reality.

  • @mustbecome
    @mustbecome Рік тому

I think you touch on something here that is FANTASTIC for us all to remember in general if we want a better life:
FOMO is not real. But here's something better:
So many people have heard about FOMO, but have you ever heard of JOMO? The joy of missing out.
It's a concept that was presented to me by a psychologist and transformed my perspective FOREVER.
I now look at present situations and really relish the moment that I have been intentional in my decisions to not partake in some things. Lean into the present moment and savour every second of what you have decided to do with your time. rather that ponder what could've have been if you made a different decision.
Begin to find joy in taking intentionality over your present, and a calm will come over you like no other.

It's my first summer that I have real friends and live in the city of my dreams. However, I have a concussion and am not allowed to do much. I've made my own rythm. Every night I'll sit on my roof and look over the citylights while reading. I'll wake up at 11AM, do a really mild version of my workout, eat something healthy, hangout with friends or learn for my driving licence and then I'll go to the roof again. It feels amazing. A week ago I was still doom scrolling my vacation away cause there was nothing to do so I made summer goals. I'll workout almost every morning as best as I can without making my concussion worse, I'll learn to cook with my dietary restrictions, I'll get my theory exam for my driving licence and I'll quit smoking. I'm working on these goals everyday and feel amazing

    After watching this video:
I've been hanging out with my friends a lot these past 5 years. One of my friends taught me driving, and the others came along, not to learn, but because we had a car now. We explored places we had only seen on Google Maps. Swam in water bodies no one thought existed, got stuck in a whirlpool, trekked late at night while being high. After all that fun, I think I've found it more valuable to stay at home, since meaning hasn't been found on the peaks of the mountains or in the depths of the lakes. I find it in the grind to earn money by solving problems of people. I still hang out a little, swim once or twice a week, play & watch cricket together. I'm told by many adults with two to three kids to live my life like each day is a picnic, but I think they regret the past not because they didn't water fight each day, but because they can't do it now. It's money, it always has been. If you can earn money as fast as possible, you'll be free to water fight late into your 90s. Earn money now, solve people's problems, monetize your knowledge and structure your life. This pressure, this pain of failing over and over again, like your ancestors felt when they lost a prey, will be the best way to spend summer.

This works if you've got a decently temperate summer. Where I live summertime means sky-high temperatures of 35 or more degrees Celsius (95 fahrenheit). Most people just try to survive it, let alone enjoy it))

In my area, I only really go out during the winter. Every other season is too hot and humid.

There's one thing I actually hate about summer and yes, it's SCORCHING WEATHER. And as active and sporty as I am - I hate being sticky with sweat shortly after going outside. If it were at the seaside or at vacation - that's totally fine. But even there I try to spend most part of the day in as much shade and coolness as possible. And when it comes to being in the city, the only good time for me is early morning hours and late evening hours. And that's ALL.
So for me, there's simply no such thing as "having the best summer of my life" 😒

This summer I've been waking up early, running, and doing extreme cardio in the piercing heat/sun for an hour and then working out in the gym for another, then I go for a swim in the afternoon. It hurts like hell but I've also never felt better in my life 😅

Been outside more today as in the recent days where I had some excuse. Let's see how long that holds up! 😅

Definitely agree with getting up earlier and enjoying the weather, an amazing way to start the day, especially with exercise and then breakfast as a reward ☀️☕😊

I was diagnosed with early breast cancer in August. The worry & masectomy took over my entire summer. Now in October I've finally been given the all clear & I find this. My advice for a good summer:
    1) Don't have a masectomy.
    2) Don't have breast cancer
    3) Don't develop cancer.
If you are going to get sick, time it better than I did. Get sick in the winter. Fake soft boobs are so uncomfortable in the heat, post surgery. In the winter though, they would be nice & warming.
Otherwise go out & have fun in the sun.

It's winter here right now and I'm absolutely longing for summer so that I can go out to the beach and vibe in the sunshine. It's pretty good weather here overall, quite warm for winter, but it's just not the same. But I'm putting together a list of things I want to do in summer and I can't wait!

I had to sit inside 9-4 Monday to Friday for an internship. It made me feel like the Summer sucked and this video made me realize why. I could barely go outside, I woke up early for me but dreaded it, and when I got home I was exhausted and ended up staying on my phone most of the time. I really wonder how people have those jobs all year long because it felt horrible to spend most of my summer inside in an office
