Pokemon - 'Advanced' Catching 'Em All (Generation III)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2017
- You guys asked for it, so here it is. Trying to catch as many of the 386 Pokemon in Generation III is a bit of a nightmare, I wouldn't recommend trying it.
Also here's Part 1 • Pokemon - How to Catch... - Ігри
My cousin and I tried catching all of them from Gen 3 and below to complete the Hoenn National Dex; I played Sapphire, Firered, and Leafgreen, while he covered Ruby, Emerald, Colosseum, and XD (I didn't have a Gamecube). It was a pain, but we did it.
...so then he had the bright idea of trying to complete the Hoen National Dex again, but with as many shiny pokemon as possible. I also had many copies of Sapphire (my parents kept thinking I would lose them, when they were actually stashed away so nobody would ruin them) and my cousin had noticed that every Spinda had different spot patterns. So he said that while he did a Shinydex, he wanted me to catch *EVERY* possible spot patterned Spinda. I only agreed at the time because I had no idea how many there were.
I called it the Spindapocolypse.
this.
this is dedication.
you're a true god
PeanutTechno TechnoBlues lmao it even says on the pokedex that every spinda is different
PeanutTechno TechnoBlues now tell him to catch a shiny version for every single possible pattern for spinda
From Completing the pokedex, the national dex, the shinydex to straight up catching spindas. Damn that's some good childhood m8.
I got a midroll ad when he said, "where o where are they" and the first words it said were, "In your house"
Lol that reminds me of when I was playing pokemon go at home a couple days ago: there are team go rocket balloons now to allow people to battle them away from pokestops, but they still have the same cheesy dialogue *about pokestops* so one of them drifts up to me and when I go to battle him he says something like "where do you think you're going, this pokestop belongs to team go rocket now!" And I'm just like "uhhhh this is my house 😂"
Ha!
I love how you get progressively more mad throughout each video
First reply my friend.
@@Brajxdv damn
This was the only Pokemon generation I actually "caught em' all" in. I played through Sapphire, Both gamecube games, Leafgreen, and Emerald as an 8-10 year old child to accomplish this.
YES! Now, let's demand gen 4!
Let's a Kickitoldskool in time my son :P
Like those remakes
Let's a Kickitoldskool he should also do the mystery dungeon games!
lol super hard life
Let's a Kickitoldskool next 2 years gen 5
There's actually one more thing you forgot: In FireRed and LeafGreen, you can't trade with a Hoenn game or Coloseum/XD until you beat the whole game and do the Sevii Island Ruby and Sapphire post game quest. So to get the other fossil and starter, you would need FireRed (or another copy of LeafGreen) to play up to the 5th gym and for the reset at the end since you could trade it to LeafGreen
I mean the game already tells you that when you try to trade with ruby, sapphire, or emerald without the ruby and sapphire so no need
Except XD gives the kanto starters, and I am pretty sure one of colo/XD has at least one of the fossils.
@@psymar What version of XD and Colosseum are you playing? Neither of them give the Kanto starters in any stage nor the fossils. You can get a Johto starter in XD by doing the Mt. Battle challenge and getting one with their respective elemental hyper beam, repeat that to get the other two, but that's Johto... which is a non issue cause Colo. The original commenter's statement still stands, you need a copy of Fire Red/ 2nd copy of Leaf Green to trade over the other starters and fossils unless you intend to beat the game 3 times fully on one cartridge, which wasn't how it was laid out in the video.
Colosseum actually allows you to trade pre national dex
This makes me suspect if he has actually done the thing. Because there is no way to do it the way he described (at 21:00 part). In order to get all kanto starters you need 2 copies of either firered or leafgreen if you dont want to play to the end
Thank god WiFi exist in Pokémon games now.
Thank God link cable doesn't exist anymore.
Hi. I have the Totodile you wanted, i just need a Lvl 100 Arceus. K thx (seriously, some trades are just nuts)
@@PrimeGamator Yeah the system is just too simplified. You can't even check their stats! Or you can't even request a shiny for a shiny... it needs to be really improved. I always use social medias to trade specifically :')
@Yayoi Vixen But sadly now the only way to trade in gen 3, 4 and 5 is through local connection since the Wi-Fi services have been discontinued. I have no idea how i'm going to get the pokemon i'm missing in my Platinum game
@@PrimeGamator emulation
and what's the reward for completing the Pokedex?
A pat on the shoulder from the professor.
Kinda anti-climatic. Would've been nice to receive a random shiny! :)
Actually in gen 3 birch doesn't even acknowledge you did it lol so not even a congratulations
He should actually slap you and say don't waste your life grinding games

Boy I wish.
Who's Jamal and why do we want to catch Jamal?
He robbed a bank
The real question is... why wouldn’t we? What do you have against Jamal, anyway? Jamal needs catching too,
Jamal’s story.
Jamal was a simple man who lived with his wife and two kids. But one day, he was caught cheating on his wife, Pokemon gold, with Pokemon silver. Pokemon gold left him and Pokemon Silver wasn’t happy that he already had a wife and left him. Jamal was alone. He wanted to restart his life and changed his name to Bill and was known as a Pokemon fanatic. One day, he was accidentally fused with a nidorino. This resulted in him being caught by a 10 year-old.
THE END.
Pokemon Crystal Episode 5: Sunny defeats Whitney's Miltank.
One time, Sunny was going to Goldenrod City, and was hoping to get her badge at Goldenrod City. She was dedicated in collecting all of the badges and such, as well as catching Pokemon. So she decided to train up her Cyndaquil to evolve into Typhlosion and beat Whitney. She made Whitney cry, but a trainer calmed her down. She gave me the Badge afterwards and gave me a TM too.
Some baboon that stole my bike
One thing to mention about Ho-oh and Lugia. They're considered event Pokemon in Gen 3, so TECHNICALLY you don't need them to complete the National Dex.
There's also another "strategy" to catching them all in gen 3. Remember how you said if you do Emerald + Ruby, you miss Lunatone and if you do Emerald + Sapphire, you miss Zangoose? Both Zangoose and Lunatone are available in XD. So you can also do:
2 playthroughs of Emerald + 1 Quick Reset for the last starter (you can get both Latias and Latios in Emerald, but only one per playthrough)
1 Playthrough of LeafGreen + 2 quick starter resets. (ONLY FOR THE SLOWPOKE LINE. The ONLY line in Gen 3 that's exclusive to one game.)
1 Playthrough of Colosseum.
1 Playthrough of XD.
Even then, Gen 3 is still IMO the most convoluted generation to complete the National Dex in.
but if you're resetting both emerald and LeafGreen then you'll need a third game to put all the pokemon on.
On the topic of XD, all of the Hoenn Pokémon normally unavailable in Emerald are catchable in the GCN games.
Roselia (Shadow) and Surskit (Poké Spot) are available in XD, and Meditite is available in both.
Though if you only use Emerald and the GCN games, you're still missing all Kanto starters, the two Hoenn starter lines you didn't pick, the Cleffa line, both Nidoran lines, the Slowpoke line, the Gastly line, the Onix line, the Krabby line, the Smoochum line, the Porygon line, all Kanto fossils, Mewtwo, (not counting Mew because lol Mythical; though there was that one event in Emerald), Unown, one of either Huntail or Gorebyss (you have to choose), and one of the Latis.
With the exception of Huntail/Gorebyss and the Latis, all of these can be obtained in Firered and Leafgreen, and you need both because of the fossils (unless you're fine doing a lot of resetting). You'll also have to reset one of them for the remaining Kanto starter, and I recommend you do it with FR, since you need LG to get Slowpoke. For the Hoenn holes, all you need is the opposite version of the Lati you chose in Emerald (Ruby if you chose Latias, Sapphire if you chose Latios), though unless you have both Ruby and Sapphire, you'll have to reset for the other Hoenn starter (make sure you trade away everything first).
And there you have it!
@@Bluenaz you can just do the reset at the start.
You know something? I'm thinking of making a video adhering to this claim that you can complete 382 with just Emerald, LeafGreen, XD, and Colosseum. Of course, I just want to make sure I'm not doing too much ripping off from either JRose or Johnstone.
I'll be torturing myself in the process, but still. Plus I still need a copy of XD.
Yup that's exactly what I did too. You don't need Fire Red at all.
could also use pokemon channel instead of the preorder disk for jirachi, would have been super funny.
Doesnt that only work in Europe and Australia?
Logan Hanssler i dont think its that hard to get a european version.
Tom aren’t they region locked tho
@Kaze Emanuar I love your hacks man
That only works if you’re from Europe or Australia.

WRRRRRRYYYY
That's the appeal of Pokemon. Even though much of this sounds like madness I would have happly worked my way through it back in the day.
ok
You shouldn't be forced to play through so many different games just to get them all for one playthrough, I like the trade idea because it was all about socializing with the other players but all those other restrictions are just bs
As a kid I could never figure out how to get every pokemon... probably because I couldn't trade! I only had one gba! Like every kids back then. So in other words it was pretty much impossible...
@@islandboy9381 Technically the whole point of Pokemon games having different versions WAS to encourage trading (so 1 person wouldn't need to do all these things). The only Pokemons that REQUIRE a lot of time to acquire are Ho-Oh and Lugia and that's only because Gen 1 & 2 could not transfer over with 3.
i did
Am I the only one that thought XD and Colosseum were really fun to play :D
No. XD is my favorite Pokemon game. I plan on speedrunning the game to completing the Orre Colosseum. Not an official category, and I can't do a 12 hour run in one sitting lol, so I plan on doing a segmented run.
Currently planning a route at the moment. A 12 hour run that catches Salamence, Snorlax, and Zapdos to use alongside Espeon.
That's not even counting resets for optimal natures, EV training, level grinding to 60, etc.
There's a good reason why the run will be segmented.
I LOVED colosseum, it was the first 'pokemon game' I ever played through! It wasn't until years later that I actually was able to play one of the main series games (emerald) and only through an emulator...
My favorite pokemon games, as a kid I never expected pokemon to have an "adult" story like that
I played Colosseum and it was kinda fun. But the battle animations take so long it gets really boring after a while
Excellent music. Miror B! Memorable locations. Interesting hero. Plus snagging other characters specific Pokemon was both frustrating and satisfying.
You forgot to mention that the Japanese version of the Colosseum bonus disc gives a Celebi instead of a Jirachi. So you can catch 384 pokemon without glitching or cheating, however if you are ok with glitching, you can also use a glitch called "Glitzer popping" to get one.
No way to trade between Japanese and English games until Gen 4.
Jrose11 link cable?
Jrose11 Actually it was Gen 3
You're able to cross region trade in gen 3.
+Jrose11 There's no way that's true, or else the Masuda method would never work right? Maybe i'm thinking wrong but that doesn't make sense to me.
You know what we're all gonna ask for now *GEN 4* !!!!!!
I just completed my emerald dex earlier this year. I’m only missing Jirachi because the bonus discs are selling for way more than $20 now lol
Yeah. Covid really screwed up the market
Bro just use the glitches
hacked Wii my guy and burn the disc, then trade over
Just for correction's sake or for anyone for some reason trying to do this themselves:
In Pokemon Colosseum and XD there's a Key Item called the "Cologne Case" that you can use to infinitely purchase items called "scents". You can use these scents outside of battle to reduce your Pokemon's shadow meter, technically making battling completely unnecessary in Pokemon Colosseum after you receive the item in Agate Village as long as you have the funds (as he mentioned this isn't a problem in XD due to the Shadow Purification Chamber). This drastically reduces the tedium of the purify process in Colosseum, although you still have to do Mt. Battle, which honestly I thought was pretty fun especially because you aren't locked to your Colosseum Pokes and can use traded ones from any GBA game.
If I remember correctly you can only trade FR/LG with the others after you've completed the side-quests with the ruby and the sapphire in the post-elite4-content so the tactic to reset LG multiple times to play only halfway through without FR shouldn't work.
This is correct, you have to help Celio develop a way to trade with the Hoenn region by collecting stuff around the Sevii Islands.
Fuck i forgot about that.
I mean, trading the stuff to a game that has the ability unlocked is possible, its not like you can't trade at all whatsoever, so just get the stuff from Fire Red onto Leaf Green when it has the quest done.
This was more about the part where he wanted to save on Firered and Emerald ( 21:50 ) to get them all and only play halfway through Leafgreen for fossils/starters, which doesn't enable him trading with Ruby/sapphire/Colosseum/XD.
Ok, yeah then there's a problem, you can't even trade with Colo and XD at that point, I see what you mean now, thanks for clarifying.
For Fire Red and Leaf Green it makes sense that there are a lot of version-exclusive Pokemon because it was also the first Pokemon game to include a peripheral. It came with the wireless trade adapter, that could simply be plugged into 2 GBAs and you could trade/battle.
Theoretically, it could be done with JUST Emerald, LeafGreen, Colo, and XD. May be a bit slower depending. But yeah, it is possible.
Irixio Zalaniar What about the ones you can’t get in Emerald? Surskit, Masquerain, Roselia, Meditite, Medicham, and one of the Latis?
Ignore that comment I posted. BigKlingy proved it's possible.
Of course, Leafgreen is used instead of Firered only because of Slowpoke, am I right?
Make emerald as the main hub game,FireRed,LeafGreen, one of Ruby/Sapphire,Colosseum & XD can be used as supplementaries
I just finished my dex in leaf green, luckily I had some friends who had the opposite versions, but I had done this on and off for years, major props to you for doing this all by yourself. I used: leaf green, sapphire, emerald, xd gale of darkness and colosseum. Friends had ruby, emerald too, fire red. Took me years, but I finally did it

200-8 =194? Wut
Lol it started at 202 bro? Did you not watch?
Anthony Hutchins Deoxys and Jirachi brought the total down from 202 to 200, THEN the starter Pokemon and Fossils were subtracted (200-8), so yes, André is right to question it.
That makes the actual total 178. :P
Fun fact it’s 178 in sapphire but 177 in ruby. There’s only one moon stone in the entire game for ruby but for sapphire you can get more because lunatone (version exclusive) has a 5% chance of having one. There are two Pokémon that you need a moon stone for, namely delcatty and wigglytuff. You can get one or the other in ruby but not both.
He started at 202
The list of Pokemon and the difficulty catching them gets more ridiculous as the video progresses. I love it
You can get Celebi in a legitimate way nowadays by trading it over from the Japanese Colosseum Bonus Disc to a Japanese copy of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald once you beat the Elite Four and purify all shadow Pokémon in the Japanese version of Colosseum. Also, I'd say play through Emerald instead of one of the main games, since Lunatone can be obtained in XD and Zangoose in Colosseum, and Emerald is just a better game overall and would allow for the event islands. This means that the best and quickest way to catch every Pokémon would be:
1. Ruby or Sapphire - Either English or Japanese. Preferably Japanese, so that the Pokémon can be dumped on to an English Emerald. Reset the game after trading everything (via Pokémon Box R&S) to get the last starter and trade that over.
2. Emerald - Opposite language of Ruby, preferably English. Pick the opposite Eon legendary of whichever other main-series game was chosen, so that you can get both Eon legendaries. The National Dex is also required to receive most Pokémon in trades.
3. Leaf Green - You can't actually trade over any of the legendary dogs from XD or Colosseum, so you need to get them all in Leaf Green or Fire Red, meaning 3 playthroughs, each with a different starter. Either one can be played, with Leaf Green a minimum of once. Also, the National Pokédex is required to trade into the Hoenn games. This means that Three Island will have to be reached in each game to unlock the upgrade.
4. Japanese Colosseum with all shadow Pokémon purified and English Pokémon XD
Thankfully, international trading was made possible in Gen 3, so it is possible to get Celebi onto an English game. This leaves out only the event Pokémon of Mew and Deoxys. These would require cheats to obtain, but if the events are triggered and their items spawned in but the Pokémon are caught legitimately, they could even be traded up to later generations and, eventually, the GTS.
Last notes:
- You'll need one GCN memory card for each Gamecube game, since a memory card cannot hold saves from different regions.
- It is not required at all to have save data from Colosseum to trade over a Jirachi.
- Once Japanese Colosseum is completed, it can trade up to 48 additional Jirachis to separate Japanese Pokémon saves.
- Thankfully, at least for now, Japanese copies of Pokémon games are pretty cheap.
- A way to play both English and Japanese Gamecube games is required, since they're region-locked. The easiest ways are either using an Action Replay disc on a real GCN, or using a soft-modded Wii. I'd recommend the Wii method, as then Pokémon Box R&S can be loaded off of USB, saving tons of money.
"Lunatone can be obtained in XD and Zangoose in Colosseum"
Actually, they're both in XD. Roselia is also a Shadow Pokémon in XD, and Surskit can occasionally be found in the wild in XD.
You _can_ get to Birth Island and Faraway Island in Emerald without a cheating device, through Arbitrary Code Execution via the Pomeg Berry Glitch, although there's 3 considerations that:
1. You might still consider it cheating, since it's not intended at all, especially that it's glitch abuse even further than, say, Generation 1's well-known "Mew Glitch", or Generation 4's Tweaking Glitch.
2. The Old Sea Map item for Mew in Emerald was only ever released in Japan, so it's not a legitimate Pokemon on any other language versions of the game.
3. The Aurora Ticket item for Deoxys was only distributed before Emerald was released in all regions except for Europe, where a few countries (Norway, Italy, and the UK) had distributions after Emerald was released (which, to my knowledge, would distribute to any language copy of the game, atleast the five languages the game was localized for across Europe), which made it very unlikely to get a legitimate Aurora Ticket on Emerald.
You can get a copy of a genuine event distribution rom and distribute the Aurora Ticket / Aura Mew to your GBA. Thankfully people were generous enough to rip the files off the official event cartridges and upload it so everybody can experience the events. All you need is a flash cartridge that you can copy the events onto, then load them up just like they would in 2005. This is quite literally as legitimate as it gets.
I'm gonna do it. I'm halfway through the Ruby Regional Dex, wish me luck.
Good luck. :)

Such in depth explanation Pokemon gameplay. Marvelous and tremendous good content to watch for! Tank you so much.
This is why I loved when online trades were introduced in later games :')
Can't wait for Gen 4 to see how tedious those games are when collecting every Pokemon.
Also, I would really like to see a video on some of the moves and abilities that need buffs and nerfs in future Pokemon games since some are very powerful like Scald and Speed Boost while others aren't that powerful like Dragon Rage and Illuminate.
The minimum amount of hardware you would need is 2 DS systems and one of them has to either be an original DS or DS Lite for the GBA slot so you can transfer mons from gen 3 into gen 4.
Well, you can get most by now transferring all the ones you got in this video.
You are actually omnipresent

Technically you can get a Jirachi without cheating, as you could obtain one through a special event if you had the gamecube game 'Pokemon channel' which gave you a legitimate one as a reward for getting through the story.
2 years ago today... time flies.
That is some AMAZING work you did to catch them all and figure out how to. (Well all possible.) Personally I wasn't able to catch them all (event exclusives included) Until X/Y with the help of some friends. Then it wasn't until ORAS that I was able to get a full LIVE dex of every pokemon and their evolution's. So glad it is somewhat easier now (or was if one caught the 20th anniversary events.)
I look forward to the rest of the videos in this series, and for that you have earned a sub. :)
Hey Jrose, some things I want the audience and you to know about. I am someone who has actually gotten 382 with a combination of Emerald, Leaf Green and the Gamecube games. Some aspects you missed make this easier, and harder.
First the good news. For Colosseum, there is a now infamous trick that allows you to throw a poke ball without consuming the item, including Master Ball's. This allows you to buy one of the best quality ball availiable and spam it despite the high price point and spam the Master Ball when you get it for the rest of the game. Secondly, the easiest way to purify pokemon in Colosseum is to fill your entire party with shadow pokemon and abuse a glitchy piece of terrain in Agate Village to continuously run while you leave the game unattended. You just unplug the controller, then plug it back in while the stick is tilted forwards. Then when the stick returns to neutral, your character will continously run downwards because it thought the forward position was neutral. You will generate steps and the shadow meter will decrease as you accumulate steps. Unfortunately a message that the pokemon is ready for purification will interupt your continuous running that you need to confirm, but you can mostly leave the game unattended while you watch TV or something. Also I want to note that all of RSE/FRLG exclusives are available when you have both the Gamecube games, to the point where I only needed LG and Emerald.
Now the bad news, trading restrictions. You see in FR/LG, at the beginning of the game, you can actually only trade with other FR/LG cartridges, and only Kanto dex mons. You need to beat the Elite Four and do some post-game content to get Celio's network up and running in order to trade with RSE and the Gamecube games, and you need the National Dex by getting 50 Kanto Dex mons in the post game in order to be able to trade for non-Kanto dex mons. So you actually need to beat FR/LG and then some 3 full times in order to trade across all your starters to other games. Emerald has a similar restriction, beat the game in order to trade with FR/LG and the Gamecube games. R/S will allow you to trade with Emerald right away though.
So to recap. To get 382 with the least games you:
100% Colosseum once for Ho-oh.
Almost 100% and beat Gale of Darkness for Lugia+exclusive Shadows.
Beat FR/LG three times for starters/fossils etc but by third play-through you just need the starter.
Beat Emerald three times for starters, Lati twins, and Huntail/Gorebyss (They need a mutually exclusive held item). Alternatively, beat any combination of Emerald and R/S once for the Lati Twin/Clamperl evo, then quick reset R/S for the last starter.
Finally, there is the nuclear option. The Nuclear Option is Glitzer Popping. A permutation of the Pomeg Glitch that allows you to hatch literally any pokemon you want from an egg. You can technically use that to fill any hole in your dex that you want, including mythicals. But that glitch takes good understanding of the game's mechanics to perform and quite a bit of time investment to get what you want out of it, so it's usually not worth doing if you can easily find an alternative to catch it.
ISlayPrettyLies clever af
Only one correction to make: you need at least 60 (not 50) Pokémon in Leafgreen to access the rest of the Sevii Islands.
I've been doing it myself; and I've made some discoveries.
You can do this using only Emerald, LeafGreen, GoD and Colosseum. Or have a second copy of Ruby/Sapphire if Emerald is your HUB.
Leafgreen will need to be replayed twice for starters and the extra fossil, but as it turns out all the FireRed version exclusives can be caught in Emerald and Gale of Darkness.
All the R/S exclusives not in emerald are also in Gale of Darkness.
You only need to play Ruby or Sapphire to get the Lati twin and the starters, but since you can trade to Colosseum/XD without having to BEAT R/S, you only need to replay them once and quickly reset for the final starter.
do you actually need colosseum technically? (since ho-oh/lugia count as mythicals in gen 3) Of course you'd need to complete the hoenn pokedex on emerald a few times to get the johto starters. and also beat leafgreen a bunch of times for the legendary beasts (and to unlock trade with the hoenn games via post game side quest).
These videos are incredible. You rock!
Wow. I really appreciate the work this video took, well earned sub.
Another great video my dude.
I did it
I agree, I do not recommend it
Holy shit that was pain incarnate. Still technically have Deoxys left, but I need to wait to see what Arbitrary Code Executions come up to allow it
Icalasari Or some really specific RNG Manipulation lol.
Icalasari
You can get deoxys in pokemon leafgreen and firered.
No waifu no Laifu Its an event item -_-
xPotato Playerx so you need to get a copy with the item
Just use the pomeg glitch to either unlock the event or generate a deoxys egg. You would need an european emerald version though
Wow I stumbled on this video and the efforts is amazing! I love the channel definitely subscribing!
Yes!!! Your mention of Colosseum and XD got my like of the video! Well done being this thorough
You can get infinite Jirachi from the bonus disc lol
This is why I'd be content with only completing a regional Pokedex and not the National Dex.
Thank you for curing me of any trace of a desire to catch all the pokemon...
For the record, the three Pokemon listed as uncatchable should really get an asterisk. All 3 are catchable through use of a couple glitches. There are glitches to get you to Birth and Faraway Islands, as well as the incredibly OP "Glitzer popping" method which can get you many different Pokemon not obtainable through normal play. That said, I don't think these needed to be included in the video, but if anyone wanted to know where they can find those Pokemon, this is how.
Pokemon Box Would Help With Mass Trading
Look up how much copies of that go for. There's a good reason I didn't mention it.
Looks like it is a bit cheaper in Europe for the pal version. But I did look at USA prices and they are high. But it is still a option none the less but yes expensive.
they're like 25 dollars?
Thousands actually
its about 50 on ebay not that expensive
15:00 boy, dont talk to me about trade times. I helped someone with a CURRENT SIZED living dex. 600+ trades. Took 2 days of 5+ hours of trading. Was worth it though never seen someone so happy. They really wanted that shiny charm.
these videos seem like they take alot of work, got my sub man, lookin forward to more, good stuff.
Just found this after 4 years still as good as I remember
Jirachi is also gettable though Pokemon Channel. The PAL version, but it works with all versions of Ruby/Sapphire.
I did exactly this with two friends, we had ruby, sapphire and emerald and one of us had leafgreen..it took a week of binge-gaming and camping in my garden with many batteries :D
Oh and an action replay for the mythologics and ho-oh and lugia :D
You earned my sub with ease and I only sub to absolute class content creators. Well done and keep it up.
If you want to do this I would recommend starting the second game, trading the starter over right away, then restarting the second game to play it all the way through. Then you don’t have to lose all your progress :)
In the first Coliseum there is a spot in the town where you can hold down the stick and start walking in place, then unplug the controller, plug the controller back in and leave it and it will purify the shadow pokemon. I want to say Chuggaconroy showed it in his play through.
I remember completing the gen 3 pokedex. I ended up buying shiny gold which was an old pokemon gold/silver fan remake that people put onto cartridges. Used that to get the 2 Johto starters and got the 3rd from completing the Hoenn pokedex, then from completing Fire Red and Leaf Green as well I was able to complete the national dex. Wouldn't ever do it again on gen 3.
Jesus props to you for spending so much time and effort doing that
I remember doing all this in prep for Gen 4 release. Good three month journey as a kid. I smiled most of this vid thinking back to how absurdly dedicated i was to a living dex back then. Still have them to this day. Replaced a bunch when HGSS and ORAS came out though.
do gen 4 and 5!
Wrong number at 3:30, you do 200 minus 8 equals 194 even though it's really 192 (you forget Lileep), and it carries on for RS, but the rest seems fine
(Sorry if this is in annotations, I'm on mobile and don't see them)
Otherwise I loved this and learned a lot of new things, would love to see Gen IV and Gen V altho those require intergenerational trading if I'm not mistaken....
This is funny timing, I actually started undertaking this at the beginning of the month and I currently have Completed Emerald, Purified all Pokemon on Colosseum and am about a third through FireRed and burnout has already begun to set in.
Fun fact: Emerald/Gen 3 was the generation where the catch 'em all slogan was removed. THEY KNEW THE TASK WAS MADNESS
You know, the bit about the Gamecube titles made me realize that to avoid some resets in RBY: you -could- play Pokemon Stadium 1, beat the Elite 4 and Rival in the Gym Leader Castle and get rewarded one of the 3 starters/one of the 2 Hitmon/one of the 2 Fossils/an Eevee.
Its not easy, and a bit random...but it's an option ^_^
I miss my Jirachi from whichever event it was that I can't remember...
"I wannabe the very best---" HELL NO AFTER THIS!!
Dude, I love your channel, your content, and espicially the intro (idk why, cool piano). You should get way more support and subscribers than you have and I'd love to see more videos from you. Kakuna Rattata.
All this could be easier if you used a gamecube. So you could use *The Pokemon Box*
Summoner Arthur only works if you can get your hsnds on one.
Atomic Robo Tesla they arent that hard to find, are they?
Good job you just earned a sub
The dedication for this video
great video, im waiting for the gen 4, this idea is so unique.
Zangoose is caught on ruby not sapphire....
Edit: on 3:50 you have the ruby and Sapphire Pokemon mixed up
Edit: I just realized I'm an idiot I'm sorry
It's where you *can't* catch the Pokemon, the same format as the last video.
Jrose11 yeah I kind of blanked out and forgot he said that. I just looked at that and said to myself that's wrong
Jrose11
Counterintuitive, tbh.
In XD Gale of Darkness, there are SOME Pokémon you catch in the wild.
Dude Scykoh mentioned you on his latest video. It's great to see that one of my favorite Pokémon UA-camr mentions another of my favorites outta nowhere
Damn man all that work. Thanks. That's dope!! *subscribes*
I got the national dex completion 100% legit, my emerald now has 386 Pokemon, I have jirachi from the disc, I have ho-oh and lugia, deoxys from the legit event at Toys R Us, mew from the legit event, and my only gamesharked Pokemon is celebi, and I've had the game for 12 years now, so yeah, I can say for 100% certainty, this has to be the biggest grind of someone's life, but it's soooo worth it
Congrats dude! That's a treasure you hold onto for the rest of your life [or sell on ebay for a couple grand ;)]
Though, if the celebi's gamesharked, then it's not 100% legit is it 🙃
Ivan Tokheim celebi was never released in America, and is only avalible from a Japanese colosseum bonus disc on a Japanese GameCube
Tylor Robertson well you can do that. So its not legit.
Campbell Kason I'm not gonna spend 200+ dollars for a single Pokemon, it's a little too much, as much as I love the game, that would be a huge waste of resources
I mean, most long time fans have 801, with only Marshadow left. I guess it's a daunting tasking considering it all at once, but incrementally as they've come out hasn't been too bad.
EDIT: And yeah, back in the day I totally did the 300 poochyena/400 bidoof trades, even the 100 floor battle mountain :)
Lex Ryan trading over the Internet made collection a breeze. Especially with the GTS.
Fantastic video mate
dang your a legend for doing this
Welp no Wonder my emerald dex is missing alot of Pokemon. Back when I was a kid with over 500 game hours i got to 70%. For Pokemon Moon i only needed 100 hours to Have all dexes 100%. It is my first game where I managed to get a 100% Complete dex and iam 25 now
Did you do online trading?
@@sandorrclegane2307 yep and and i did Wonder Trade and alot of the GTS
I want some of that quality gen 4 video👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
After all that, and you'd still be missing Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys. That's seriously crazy.
this is absolutely amazing thank you so much oh my goodness
