I always go back to Dave in the bar. He was from Philadelphia. He said he knew that survivors were In Nebraska, and survivors were taken by the military to secret designated islands (Padre). They really could made it a cool call back of Rick remembering that conversation since it was the first human he killed AND ending in UP in Philadelphia which Dave lied and said Philly was a mess and collapsed faster then other places( that was obvious a lie) they could even worked it as one of Beales spies sent out early on looking for As and Bs similar to Jadis or being undercover like Huck.
I don’t know Philly could have looked like it was collapsing. If you see the National Guard and Army shooting at eachother and the dead coming in as a third party you think it is over.

I wanna know about the Military of France and what their containment plans were during the outbreak, with the Daryl Dixon spinoff show. We saw some of the outbreak in flashbacks not much info about the french military or EU militaries at all.
Yes I was hoping to get that too and something about French scientist also that wee hinted at end of Beyond. It doesn’t look like we are going to get that this season & they are leaving France so I guess that will be it. Disappointing…..
Thanks for info. I didn’t watch Fear so that was good to know. There is so much they could do & I wish they would use what they have better. I love Daryl show but it looks like we are not going to get anything with French Scientists which I was hoping for going into this series. I guess they don’t want put in effort but if it was my choice that is what I would do. Especially leaving that post scene at end of Beyong & tying it to Jenner. Talking about their military involvement that someone mentioned below could be cool too. I still say that is spin off we need. High officials or military in hiding would be a really good story or origin story about outbreak.

As much as I am a massive fan of the Walking Dead it portrays the military really unrealistically. There’s no way walking zombies would defeat them and even in the event that civilisation would collapse there would be a lot more military that would survive like in the last of us (where the military, government and police become fedra).
I still find that whole plot about that submarine idiotic. Everything about it from the crew having the awareness of a potato, disobeying direct orders from command just to launch them later down the line after the world is already dead too the NUCLEAR powered sub not having a melt down and still working perfectly years later after washing up on shore… the ballistic missiles being launched by 1 former weapons officer who originally was the one who DID NOT want to launch the nukes… Like of all the things the writers do to ruin the military, that is one of the top things that pisses me off
Now I am not sure but the ballistic missiles would launch from a grounded sub. From what I know the sub ejects the Missile and when it clears the the sub then the engine ignites. I know someone that served on a similar sub so I will ask him.

Can a submarine fire on land? Can a sub launch its missiles if the sub is grounded on land out of the water? Generally speaking, the launch systems carry the ballistic missile to the surface and then the primary engine fires. That would not work ashore.
that is a good question - but I checked - "submarines can technically surface and fire missiles from the surface if needed, but this would make them vulnerable to detection and attack. Submerged launches are preferred for strategic and tactical reasons."

Missile Tubes need to be flooded before launch if I remember correctly.
