Thanks! It was difficult for that reason and many more...I had a few different maps around Alexandria for months, trying to make it work...but once I got into the Savior War things started to stay "this location is in between these two" etc etc, and things kinda-had-to-lay-out as shown.

Yeah they really dragged it out for to long. For me it was the worst part of the show. Negan is fun to watch but I hate how many times they set up an obvious easy way to take him out in the show and over and over again Rick just starts running his mouth instead of popping him and being done with it
Only in the show it is that long

This is a million view video i swear. An amazing treat to end the year, I’ll be watching this a few times. one thing that would’ve been great to add would be a little timeline at the bottom of the vid to show us how much time has passed over all the events. Just more visual aids basically. Overall 10/10 love this video. Maybe next one for fear or maybe a UA-cam short on how daryl got to France even though I’m pretty sure you’ve shown us maps before on it

@ yes it daryl Dixon but also i was hoping for a fear map video in this style! I feel like that would be really interesting! They moved around to quite a few interesting areas. And also had environmental factors like nuclear zones.
The video helps give context to their locations, when watching it’s just always some random woods in the south and sort of ends up feeling bland. But seeing all the locations and distances traveled helps paint a more full picture of what happens between the scenes we see. Thank you for this

Lots of people have asked for Fear maps - but....
I'm ok with mapping anything through S3 - but it would not only be hard for me to map Fear because I did not enjoy S4-8....but also it was soooo discombobulated about locations and such....it would be difficult to make sense in many spots.
I will continue to ponder it.
@ Yeah… that’s why I’m suggesting just the transition of Morgan, et.al. Not necessarily the entire series.
I thought about doing a map on Nick from Fear, and I wouldn't have too much in S4 to go through since he was at the Stadium most of it.
@ yeah. I know there was Los Angeles, Baja, Mexico (somewhere), and I wanna say Colorado? Then on their way to Texas when they got to the stadium and Nick was killed on the road (not sure where that was exactly).
But for Morgan, I think he just made his way to Texas and then the entire group made their way to Georgia, because they came across where Morgan was keeping his son. Somehow… Dwight made his way to everyone. Not sure where the mountains were during season 4-5 though. The Smokies maybe?
@@MsAubrey Yeah Morgan went all over Texas by the time the nukes dropped. Then they went by water to GA. From there it's not too far back to Atlanta. (but a good ways up to Sanctuary) - The mountains from Fear should be the Davis Mountains in West Texas.

I really never thought Gabriel’s church would be that far away from terminus
I had put it much closer in my first attempt at the map...but that was one of the updated parts
- they clearly show it marked on the map that had "This new world is gonna need Rick Grimes"

I thought the kingdom was near crystal city va right near DC. I'm pretty sure in one of the outside portions of the kingdom you could see buildings that reflected that
One hundred fans would draw one hundred different maps I guess.
That is a problem I had making this map....if I go by one episode for example....the map changes....and then changes again because of a later episode. It could be a background, a building, something a character says, etc etc. As I state at the start - this map is approximate.
I did place everything closer to DC, around the city, moved things for over 3 months and rewatched and rewatched. Since Hilltop was always BETWEEN The Kingdom and Alexandria, and we got an actual screenshot of a map pinpointing Hilltop.....I had to place things where they landed to make sense to the Savior War and beyond.

How did carl and rick after the prison travel 20+ miles wh 26:01 ile rick was dying.
I had no clue they also travelled that far to get noahs home town, neither how far terrimius. Also felt the time spent between the prison and alexandria was less than a month but based on the distances it must have been more than that.
I alos thought the crm was much farer away along with the common wealth. The distance is basically the same as the prison and woodbury

it's Ohio in the show and comic - a few references in the main series but also one In Daryl Dixon spinoff where he says Ohio. - although some clues say it is in Toledo, but other clues suggest where I put it.

How do you know these locations are accurate?
As I state at the start - all locations are approximate. The series does not let us exactly where everything is, and changes sometimes per plot and season. We know of a few places because we see a map in the show itself - like Hilltop and Gabriel's Church. Then, during all the traveling during the Savior War, things HAD to be places as they seemed to be in the show.......Hilltop was always in between Alexandria and Sanctuary, etc etc.
But I've commented before, a hundred fans would probably draw a hundred different maps.
Total opposite to a series like Game of Thrones which had very detailed maps all along.
@sorry I missed the start cause I skipped right to the savior arc cause that’s my favorite. However I think the kingdom is located in Arlington. And yeah from everything I’ve seen the locations Change a lot. But concretely Alexandria can’t be located in Alexandria Virginia because it’s too dense to be there. It’s much more likely a planned community outside of that area plus kingdom is at least 25 miles away from Alexandria, so if Alexandria is in actual Alexandria it’s impossible. The skyline for Arlington matches the kingdoms skyline so that has to be accurate. And hilltop has to be 21ish miles away from Alexandria because that is stated in season 6 episode 16 that that is the distance to hilltop. So hilltop cannot be in Culpepper because it’s not the appropriate distance from Alexandria and there is a conflicting map of the location of hilltop shown in season 11 that shows it as being in West Virginia which makes no sense. I’ve worked on my own map, and found it very difficult to map out these locations properly, but at the very least kingdom has to be In Arlington and Alexandria has to be along the Potomac. So does Oceanside, set in colonial beach Virginia along the Potomac.
And if you go by that one statement (S6 E16), it messes up other things in other episodes that are said, so what is right? What is true?
- and that is what I mean - you can't lock down the entire map, ever, because the show never cared. There was a scene where Negan had a map on a table and pointed to Hilltop - in Culpepper. SO I took when we got confirmation of a few locations like that - and HAD to place the other communities where I did for the story I was narrating along the way to make sense.
Believe me, I did place Kingdom in/near Arlington - and it would not work out as you start mapping out the movements of the characters.
I wish it did work, I wish it did make sense - but it never will.

Thanks. I was curious how Rick's story would end up, but the show had gotten that bad I couldn't watch it any more. This video is a nice middleground.
His ending is better than the one he got in the comics where he turns into a communist revolutionary fighting a proxy British Empire and then gets murdered.
