    Very nice build. Every time I see an old bike with horizontal dropouts, I think to myself, Oh what I'd to to this frame? I'm a fixed gear nut, but all single speeds have a place in my heart.

    I bought one of those discarded bikes and built one just like that one,my brother gave me another one and did the same built to it,then I bought a brand new frame on ebay and built that one from 0,I learned watching content like yours,so thank you very much for all your time and work.(I've been commuting to work since 2023) 🙋👍🙏

    Incredible... love the handle bars. Just put a set on a Scott MTB with an old school stem . I use to race BMX back in the 80s. And your absolutely right about that it puts a smile on your face when I look at it. Press on in the good work sir 👍

    What a cool project. Definitely making me want to do this to one of my old 90s MTBs. Looks awesome.

    I am currently working on my 1999 GT Tequesta, but my bike will have gears to deal with the hills in the city where I live.
    As I am on a fairly tight budget I won't be able to do it one go, but spread it out over time, but still make the bike rideable until it's finished. It already brings a smile to my face. I may share my project on UA-cam once it's finished.

    This is very similar to what I've been doing to a frame--turning it into a BMX machine. Can be viewed on current videos. And you're so right--lots of fun to cruise and just ride around town on.

    Sweet ride. I did exactly the same with a Reynolds 531 mountain bike. I like the way you tucked away the brake lines. You can do miles on that. I've done regular 25mile runs. Single speed means no bother, just ride.

    I'm always still amazed that 20" BMX bikes didn't evolve onto larger BMX bikes along the way as people grew up. I guess MTB's dominated and they just got left behind. Nice build!

    I get it's some mix of quill and threadless adapter, still better to add spacers on the steerer to brace the stem better I'd have thought.

    • @DePuesshop
      @DePuesshop  9 місяців тому +1

      Good advice. I think it would look better as well. Ultimately, I should find a quill BMX stem, but I was limited in my parts bin.

    Just change the fork and front wheel (maybe the rims too) and it would already be a proper 26“ beginner bmx…
    The Frame was made for mtb and was also used for downhill back in the days when I remember right, so it should take some hits…
    At least way better build as the stumpjumper…😅

    Love this concept. Making it happen shortly (or starting the process at least when I go out to my bike shed).
    *Question* - around 9:10 you're greasing the headset with that little sonoivabitcher (I believe to be the latin term) - Are those things intended for greasing chainsaws? Legit question not saying iS ThAt a CHaiNSaw. I have a few of those from my Grandfather & I've never been clear on if they're *intended for oiling bars* or its just a standardized oil applicator. They certainly work great!

    • @DePuesshop
      @DePuesshop  3 місяці тому

      That's a mini grease gun. It is perfect for getting grease into small places. You can get one on Amazon. There should be a link in the video description.
