Funny story my brother lives out of state but got him hooked on your videos . He calls me when he finally realized ElPatio is the the restaurant by our Dads exit that you and Tina always stop for Mexican food!
Thanks again for your wonderful photography and your great cinematography! Always love your videos and always look forward! Been wondering where you've been. Now I know, repelling!
Thank you! I’ve had quite a few plans that fell through (weather or poor planning), some I cancelled and then the holidays. But we’re back at it again this coming weekend and plenty more on the calendar.
I see Eric! He even lent me a jacket 'cause he's such a gentleman. We had this calendared for Dec 14 - looks pretty rad. I think I'll have to go upside down Eric style!
Thanks as always for the realistic views and advice. My friend wants to do Browns peak for her birthday and I was psyching myself out on it. But if I could do Battleship than Browns is doable after watching your great video!
If you can do Battleship, you should be able to do Browns. Two of my favorite 'hikes'. Just make sure you wait until all the snow and ice is out of the chute.
Another beautiful video!! I was up at fossil creek last Sunday, jumped off the waterfall and went swimming....it was kickass!! Let me know about your Xmas party. 😉
I'm a fairly new subscriber to your UA-cam Channel. I love watching all your videos! Your face/body and personality makes you an exact look alike of character Steve Rhodes from Married with Children sitcom back in the late 1980s & 1990s. Does anyone ever say that you look like Steve Rhodes from that show? lol
The guy we went with has been making new canyoneering routes up there all over the place (including this one). Everyone in that canyon was going to the subway but everywhere we went he was pointing out other places to see. And that was just in one canyon. My gps has so many tracks I’ve done up there it looks like a spiderweb and I haven’t seen half of what there is to see.
Eric must have been a paratrooper or a marine in his previous life. Upside down dangling like a boss. It's also kind of cool to see how canyoneers layed in a path. In Moab on all offroad trails you can see rubber on the red rock. I guess people are doing major shoe grinding on those rappels. Sending warm vibes from not so sunny at the moment Florida.
I know enough about canyoneering to know that I'm not qualified to teach anyone anything about canyoneering. My advice is to seek out professionals that can safely teach you the basics to begin with, get into the canyoneering community from connections there and online. In AZ, the place to go is AZ Rock and Canyon. Tom and Jeremiah know their stuff and are great people. Learn from the people who know what they're doing and if you're concerned with the cost just ask 'how much is my life worth?'
Had some trips lately that didn’t make it as videos. Weather problems, poor planning and/or didn’t feel like filming. And the holidays have slowed my hiking a bit. But more stuff coming soon. This was a fun day though….
That was really cool and not to hard of repels either. How much miles was the hike in total? Oh and I'm going to moab this weekend, which road would you say takes the longest, white rim rd or chicken corners rd? So I know which to do first?
Not sure what the mileage was. Maybe 5~6? And less than 1000' elevation gain and loss. Not sure on those two roads. I've only done part of White Rim. Have fun in Moab. Love that area. Need to explore up there more.
@@JerryArizona that's awesome, I think you have the more realistic way of hiking in your content. My gf acts almost the exact way your wife does when we go on hikes , happy in the beginning and then few miles into it the hikes either she's quite or she's saying are we there yet 😆 I even tell her , your tribe ( Navajo) would be disappointed in your hiking, just to razzle her 😆 plus I'm Native Pueblo so I can say that stuff to her but she give it back all the time as probably even more than me at times. But ya 1st time actually going to stop in Moab instead of driving on thru , so hopefully it can be done in 3 days on those two rds.
It's not really a trail. It's a technical canyoneering route. They're usually listed on Ropewiki, but you have to have the gear and experience to get there. If you want to go to the subway cave and skip the technical portion, I made a video a while back on just that. I think the route there is listed on Alltrails.
Are there any canyons you'd recommend in Arizona in late December and January? We've got plenty of canyoning/canyoneering experience, we just don't know Arizona very well.
Join AZ Canyoneering and Sedona Canyoneering groups on FB. Grizzly, Ponderosa, Slingshot, Dead Man's Drop, Crack Addict, Hang 'em High, Mormon Monster....tons of dry canyons around Sedona. You can go on Smiling Cricket and download the Superamazingcanyoneeringmap on Google Earth and a TON will pop up. Come back in the summer and hit the I's in West Fork or some of the slots in West Clear Creek. Some of those are on par with the canyons in Zion, imo.
No housing. Then again, as I'm typing this, I realize that I've broken a LOT of GoPros. But the newer ones really don't need a case to be waterproof, so I don't use one. I tried the lens protectors, but the ones I got cracked easily. I got a hairline crack the first day I used it (no idea how since I didn't drop or scratch the GoPro on anything) and it ruined all my footage, so I just use them as-is.
@@chickenbeak1500moutians Yeah. I've been through so many GoPro's, I can't even count anymore. Last weekend was heartbreaking though; finished filming a hike and a canyon, set the GoPro on the side of my truckbed while I put away my gear....then I drove off. The GoPro is replaceable. The footage, not so much.
That's crazy. Never heard of that channel and had no idea they used the footage. Very interesting video. And kinda sad. Ironically, I just won the online Wave lottery for the first time after trying for maybe 5 years. Sad to know that all those entry fees just went to some 3rd party, and not to the local BLM.
Nothing satisfies like a Jerry Arizona video. 🔥❤👍

That's funny. We're in there way too often.....
Dude - that was great! I loved the humor mixed all over the place. Great stuff!!
Well, That Certainly Was Exciting!!!
It's always exciting when Eric plans the route.
So fun! Thanks for sharing. I'm freezing here and this gives me hope. I think I will pack up for a road trip to Arizona soon.
Love the music In this one Jerry and of course I love the food !!
Love it when a cold start to a hike ends in t-shirts. You might need to do a video on all your Mexican Food places.
Canyoneering. The only sport where you can get heat stroke and hypothermia in a single trip.....

I always describe EM as the 'nicest person on the planet.' Haven't worked up the nerve to go upside down myself yet.

YES DUDE. You captured Sedona perfectly. I wanna get back there again one day.
Another great video Jerry 👌🏼
Rappelling is so much fun! I haven't done any for quite a few years now. Good to see you & Tina out & about enjoying it !!
It’s a blast. Tina actually got me into it. Glad she’s back out there doing it again.

Stunning work my friend, shots are nicely composed and executed! Simply enjoyable video! 🥾🥾

Thanks and I had to look that up. I think you meant Brad Pitt. I look like Brad Pitt......
Great video. I love repelling.... although I haven't really done it yet
Another great one Jerry! Rappelling is kicking it up a notch with the hiking.
Great video Jerry!
Awesome-never realized how much there is to do in Sedona.

Bonyton Canyon. LOL. 😁

Did Tina’s phone survive. Looked like she crushed it
It did and watching the video I have no idea how.
