  • Hiking Boynton Canyon to the Best Views I've seen in Sedona
All of my trips to Sedona, and I just recently 'discovered' Boynton Canyon. It's absolutely amazing. Yes, it has the newest Instagram hot spot - The Secret Sedona Subway Cave - but that's just the tip of the iceberg. On our latest trip, we explored an unofficial trail that I couldn't name even if I wanted to. I've scoured the internet and don't see it anywhere. This is where it pays to have friends who know secrets. Unfortunately, because of that, I can't tell you exactly how to get here. So please don't ask. For the very determined and inquisitive, it is possible to figure this out, so best of luck to you. If you do find the trail, it is worth it.

Jerry and Tina, I always see, and love your posts!! I used to live in Southeastern Arizona for 13 years and absolutely loved the topography and the ability to pick your climate by altitude--no matter the season! Really appreciate your humor & especially Tina's responses!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the excellent work! There are those of us out here, who vicariously, very much appreciate your efforts in taking us into the backcountry of Arizona and Southern Utah, where we will never be able to hike again given our age and physical limitations. Thanks again so much both of you!!!!!!

Oh, Jerry. I just returned home to Western NC after spending 3 months in AZ for work. While I was there, I took inspiration from your videos to get out and explore what AZ had to offer. I took so many pointers from you and I was NEVER disappointed. While I was there, I fell in love with so many places in AZ, Page, Flagstaff, Monument Valley, North and South Rim, Sedona, particularly Boynton Canyon. I set out to find the secret/not-so-secret Kachina Tree, I found it! :D Nearby, we also discovered a beautiful mesa top with one hell of a majestic view similar to the one you guys found. My fiance and I had to use some way-finding skills, rock climbing skills, and basically make our own sketchy path through the cliffs, cacti and bushes, but it was worth it to have the place to ourselves and see such amazing view. We definitely had one of those moments where you just know you're in the right place, at the right time, and all is right with the world. I paid Boynton Canyon one last visit to see the Kachina Woman, the vortex, and the Subway Cave before returning home, knowing that I didn't get to see or do everything I wanted to. Thank you so much for posting this video. It felt like I was right back there, getting to explore with you guys.

This looks to be a loop I did last year -- I went down Boynton, branched off to see the Subway Cave, then wanted to get over to Long Canyon to see moves caves/ruins and just went off trial and climbed up a somewhat sketchy crack and then bushwhacked, up to the saddle on your rock you were on, then descended down to long canyon, hit up the caves/ruins off of Long, then back to Birthing Cave and back to car

    • @JerryArizona

Sounds similar except we turned and went up the ridgeline between Boynton and Long. Then back down into Boynton. Probably could've dropped into Long, but that wasn't the route we had planned.
