Dear Scott, Greetings, Salutations and Respect! Your ranking of Norwegian bands left me Überascht. I kept asking myself, "How much does this Scott guy know?", but it's easier to ask, "What doesn't he know?" Your hint at ranking Brazilian bands got me excited. Ramming speed! I sometimes listen to the Brazilian band Angra, though they have a metal streak I'm not crazy about. But they are also heavily prog, too! (Symphonic Metal?) They do one of the best covers of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights" in several videos, and are probably famous for it. I'm confused, what is the relationship you titled between "Popul Vuh" (Florian Fricke?) and Popul Ace? The "Popul Vuh" is the Mayan holy book, but "Popul Ace" doesn't really mean anything. Is there a difference between "Symphonic Metal" and "Progressive Metal"? I suppose "Symphonic Metal" is more Finnish/Dutch than Norwegian, but some S.M. bands are pretty heavily prog with just a metal underlayer. The most obvious band in this category is Nightwish. They're oozing prog, but their metal underlayer can't be denied. Subsequently, they are the best Symph Metal band, IMHO, and, I believe, the most popular. Boy, would I like to see a ranking of Symph Metal bands! Lastly, as if you don't have enough to do, I'd actually like to see a ranking of "Wuthering Heights" covers. (That's a prog tune, right?)
