  • This is how I create vertical double half hitch knots using one continuous working yarn. This prevents having to measure and cut multiple strands of yarn to create larger macrame pieces.
    This also massively reduces the amount of ends to sow in! This is a great beginner tutorial, especially for working with pixel art macrame. Once you master the method, it is an easy & quick (comparatively) technique.

    I have sped a lot of sections up x2 as you can see the amount of time I spend ensuring all the knots are neatly on top of each other. The first line or two of a piece are the ones that need the most care and attention - like laying the groundwork. From here, it should get easier and quicker to continue.
    I’m not sure it’s a ‘hack’ but it does stray from the traditional (more time intensive) macrame technique. Let me know if you’ve tried this down in the comments.
