Thanks for the sharing of your excellent art with us...u r educating many of the people across the globe I am very thankful to learn this art will definitely try this at home
Thank you very much. I needed to know how to do letters and how to carry on if i ran out of cords ! Not all of the patterns mention the measurements !! 🙀Your video addressed both the issues. God bless you. One request : how do I measure the length of the vertical cords? Sorry if I'm.asking a dumb Q. 😔
Hi! I'm so glad this video was helpful. To measure the vertical cord you will take into consideration how long the letter is. In this video the letter as 4 inches tall. So I would use a 16 inch peice of cord because folded in half that's 8 inches. Once it's tied on the dowel it will end up giving you a few extra inches below the letter. This can vary depending on the type of cord you are using but hopefully this gives you an idea of how long you would want yours to be. Hopefully this makes sense.
Hi Brenda, I'm actually in the middle of this series so I have only done through H. I have decided to speed the series up so I'll have more letters out each week. I'm hoping to get the full alphabet posted very soon. Thanks for your interest it definitely helps motivate me to get it all posted asap.
@@BeCraftyWithMegan OH...ok, sorry l don't want to rush you so l'll be watching your postrings l've subscribed to your channel and wll get notifications too.....you are doing good my dear....Thanks so much, Brenda
The letter is 4 inched long. Depending on how long you want the extra cord hanging down the length can vary. 4 inches plus the extra amount hanging below the letter.
With the 3mm cord I use, each letter uses between 200-240 inches for color one and 130-150 inches in color two. If for some reason you run out of rope you can always tie on more. The letters are 4 inched long so the 5 none working cords need to be 4 inches plus the amount of extra you would like.
DrinkWineBeCrafty 10 months ago It's 3mm cord. I bought it at my local Joann. With that size cord my letters are about 3.5" wide and 4" tall - with 3mm each letter uses between 200-240 inches for color one and 130-150 inches in color two
@@BeCraftyWithMegan Perhaps you could put in the 'show more' at the top the measurements of cord etc - I used the measurements above and ran out 2 or 3 times - not good for a tutorial... ;-)
I'm sorry you had those issues. With the 3mm cord I used for that tutorial those are accurate measurements. It can vary depending on the size and type of cord used. I just used a different cotton 3mm cord on a letter A and I just measured that. I used 180 inches for color one and 150 inches color two. Hope that helps for anybody using different types of cord. It can vary but you can always add on more cord if for some reason you run out. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
Hey Erica, with the 3mm cord I use each letter uses between 200-240 inches for color one and 130-150 inches in color two. If some reason you run out of rope you can always tie on more.

Wow! I love it
How long are the 5 cord
The letter is 4 inched long. Depending on how long you want the extra cord hanging down the length can vary. 4 inches plus the extra amount hanging below the letter.
But how much cord is needed in all
With the 3mm cord I use, each letter uses between 200-240 inches for color one and 130-150 inches in color two. If for some reason you run out of rope you can always tie on more. The letters are 4 inched long so the 5 none working cords need to be 4 inches plus the amount of extra you would like.
How long are the handing cords that are wrapped on your rod? And how long does this piece end up being?

The cords on the rod were about 18". It all depends on how long you want the fringe to be. Thanks Kathryn for sharing the other info. 😊

Hey :) I'm planning to make an abc wall hanging for my future nursery room. Do all letters have the same size?
Hey! Yes, they are all the same size.
Haiii I am from Indonesia...i just subscribed your channles today...thank you very much for tutorial letter....but will you make tutorial for lowercase letter? ..I am waiting for it....
Question. Would it be difficult to increase the size of the letters?
It shouldn't be difficult. I guess it depends on how big you're interested in making it.
You can also try using larger cord to increase the size
hi thanks for this video i like your videos i was wondering if you have done a horizontal a to z videos if so could you show me a link if not cold you one like this video thanks
I haven't done a horizontal series. I've never done a letter that way. I'll have to give that technique a try.
