Except the Turians didn't ask for the Salarians...they asked for the Krogan. So you pretty much doom the Earth/Turian alliance as well. The only reason it isn't is plot armor. "Or weren't you paying attention? His power base was built around control of access to fertile females. That evaporated the moment you cured the genophage, and once they no longer have a big bad enemy to fight to keep their attention, the other krogan are going to realize this. Since Wrex's ideas were hardly popular, most of them will probably abandon him overnight. Even though some may choose to remain loyal, the real force behind his unification and reformation effort is gone -- it no longer has teeth. And his relatively peaceful krogan will most likely be quickly wiped out by another more aggressive "traditional" clan." Except that Clan Urdnot is by far the largest of the Krogan clans, and Wrex has no problem using force to keep the peace. Plus as Wreav puts it in his playthroughs, as the Krogan chief that cured the genophage, his word will be law. The same holds true for Wrex.
This is something for congo kong: Kong's First Point: You're not "destroying" them Countering Point #1: Actually, the Genophage was deployed as a WEAPON during the Krogan Rebellions by the Turians (The Salarians made the idea). What it would do is negatively impact the breeding process of the Krogan, and made Krogan children rare. In fact, many Krogan babies die in the Stillborn state. If that ain't a weapon to DESTROY, then nukes also can't destroy. Kong's Second Point: It's not because of some politician Countering Point #2: Councilors are Mass Effect's politicians. If it wasn't because of "some politician", then what's the point in nominating Udina or Anderson? It's stupid! Kong's Third Point: Curing the Genophage would be disastrous Countering Point #3: Actually, you need the Krogan. The Turians asked for the Krogan, and they will be getting them. If the Turians requested the Salarians, then MAYBE we'd have to try the Genophage sabotage. Kong's Fourth Point: Most importantly, getting Salarian aid Countering Point #4: You get Salarian aid no matter what, so this is pointless. Kong's Fifth Point: Mordin had falled to sympathy Countering Point #5: Actually, if Wreav and Maelon's data are dead, then you can make sure he's alive
@Jake M. well to be fair, the Krogans would not be a dying race if they were not so violent by nature, if they did not get hired as a mercenary and if they stopped fighting each other. The problem of the Krogans is that they have never been able to control their impulses, both violent and sexual. If they had stopped their demographics, there would never have been a Rebellion. the point here is that Shepard needs all the fleets he can find against the Reapers because no one knows what it will take to stop them. The Salarians have vast fleets and the best scientists in the galaxy. Moreover, as said above, the Krogans are violent, even Wrex, he controls better than the others but he does not say no to a bloodbath. it's up to the player to see if he should take the risk to save the Krogans or if saving the galaxy is worth a genocid ...
Wow this took a LOT of work and was very well edited and documented. Kudos! This is going to save me sooo much time because I really wanted to see several of these scenes. Thanks a ton.
I think there may be one missing. It's been a while since I played, so I'll have to double check...but in pretty sure I remember seeing a scenario where the Illusive Man shoots both Anderson and Shepard, and you lose and have to reload from there.
I watched through the damn thing, and now it's now 3 in the morning anymore, now it's 4. Thanks for compiling such an interesting video. :D These are some great death scenes here.
Interesting, i admit that i still cry seeing Mordin die while he sings, overall this video is very sad, you spared me of the effort of doing a lot of playthroughs to see all of the scenes, thanks
I'm so glad you made Anderson's death the last one. Anderson was like a father to my Sheperd. Though Bioware messed up the ending in so ways, they did this right :') This is a man that deserved his rest. I would of been fine if the game just ended with this scene, and did something like a short commentary of everything that happened after the Crucible fired :)
This video is one of the things that makes ME3 so great regardless of peoples inability to look passed the endings, which I thought were fine. Shows how many variables they put into the game so that you really can have a different experience each time you play
ME3 completely ruined ME2 characters, decisions and consequences and made ME2 obsolete because it didnt use almost any of the things that happened there and if it did, only as cameos.
I just finished the Mass Effect series today. I did it without having to kill or watch the deaths of anybody I didn't need to. I even picked the synthesis ending and I still felt depressed as hell. I can't imagine how I would feel if I just let everyone die. Anyways, awesome video, great work.
So many deaths in ME3, I love it. You feel bad even for side characters or for those you've never seen before (like Charr, the Krogan poet, and Joker's sister who was killed by the huntress at the hospital).
I shot Mordin on this playthrough for variety, and it's hard to live with the guilt. It's hard to have a Citadel party when you know you're the Shepard who shot Mordin Solus. Be careful, kids.
gibberconfirm Oh, crap. Now I KNOW I won't be able to shoot Mordin. Hell, Citadel destroyed any chance of me having a varied playthrough ever again. :P
Very nice compilation. The only things that come to mind that you could possibly add are relationship variations on some of the deaths. I know Thane and Miranda have them. Not sure about Tali or Ashley/Kaiden.
When I watched Grunt die for the first... I had no more tears for anybody else. Instead I killed every enemy with the ruthlessness of an end with no Krogan tankbred warrior at my side.
i think my favorite death, and by favorite i mean the one that affected me the most was Anderson's. it's got the whole "old soldiers never die, they just fade away" thing going for it. He was so close to seeing it through to the end and then he simply shuts his eyes. I cried, more then i cried for mordin, more then i cried for tali. and more then i cried for any of them. I actually had to stop the game just to cry. maybe because my father is an old soldier...
Well, I disagree... I think the Geth/Quarian conflict was handled very well. I really felt emotionally involved when Tali committed suicide in my first play-through. Hell, I remember sitting there in front of my TV completely shocked! Just to snap out of it when the paragon option came flashing on the screen. That lift shot of Shepard's hand was just perfect! Same when I first saw legions death on UA-cam. When a game does something like that it's a +1 for me! And btw, don't blame Bioware for such things like the ending. Blame EA, they gave the developers far too little time to finish the game properly.
Jildert Hof They made the character deaths sad and depressing, but they still fucked up the story. In ME2 they explain how it's the fault of both parties, and they both have to work at peace. In ME3, they made the Geth underpowered, in addition to making the conflict one-sided, showing the Quarians as crazy oppressive murderers, while the Geth are the innocent children who killed BILLIONS.
+TheReconRampage Geth didnt shoot anyone until quarians shoot those who tried to protect the geth. While the geth didnt want any conflict with their creators.Cant blame geth for exiling quarians. So yeah in geth perspective they are crazy oppressive murderers whic they dont want to kill.
It was like a throw of disgust. Shepard disgusted at the choice he was forced to make. Killing a friend, to give his home planet the best chance for survival. Strange how one simple action can have such a huge meaning behind it.
It definitely was a sad moment. The only superior other than Adm. Hackett, to always have Shepard's back in the entire trilogy dying right next to Shepard. Lasting as long as he could against the Reapers. I loved his line about (paraphrasing) "feeling like years since he actually sat down".
They get Legion if you choose to give him up to cerberus for credits in ME2 after the derilict reaper mission. They get Jack if you don't do the Grissom Academy mission within a certain time frame.
Watching when Legion gets killed even when he dies by uploading the code, made me cringe even more than when Mordin dies. Legion was always my favorite.
And that's when Shepard wakes up and discovers in was all a dream in his mind after he touched the artifact, and it was a possible way of how the things would've ended if he didn't cared shit about it.
I'm pretty sure if I watched a full of hour Mass Effect characters dying my life would enter a downward spiral of depression from which I would never recover.
I think it says a lot about the game designers (in a good way) when someone can make an hour long compilation of tear bringing deaths just from one instalment in a series.
Miranda's alternate death (where she is shot) had me scratchin my head. I mean after she separated Oriana from Daddy Dearest, she just kind of stood there and let the guy shoot her. And I guess everyone's shields just (space) magically disappear during cutscenes, this goes for Wrex too.
You actually missed one, atleast so I've heard, I personally don't want to go back to number one for this one lol. Anyway it's when Shepard and Anderson are on the Citadel Anderson gives Shepard a talk about how he'd make a great dad. You have to have never romanced someone in any of the three games for it though.
Even if the 'dream' hypothesis is correct, it doesn't change the fact that the endings were practically the same and offered absolutely no closure. In fact, the endings only raised more questions.
Murdering Legion brings to mind The Boss' death from Metal Gear Solid 3, especially since it makes you, the player, pull the trigger on Legion. That was just horribly cruel.
So that deleted scene with Shepard telling his squad to leave would've made the ending make sense where...you know, it looked like they fucking bailed on him!
it was all a dream, well before he went into the portal he gets hit by the laser right? when he gets hit by the laser it isn't actually him waking up he is dreaming that sequence. In the citadel admiral represents the consiousness of shepard destroying the reapers and the illusive man is the symjbol to giving into the reapers
I'm impressed. How long did this take you all together? Also: You missed one death; although, he might not be important enough to include. I am, of course, referring to Balak.
When I do a 100% renegade playthrough of any of the Mass effects, I get to the end and hate myself. We carry those we have lost with a heavy burden, but we carry ourselves for those that survive with an even heavier burden, knowing we should have taken their place. Goodbye Mordin.
I still can't believe Ash really said those words in 18:15 and Kaidan is not even angry at Shepard in that scene, he just said, he was doing his duty, glad I came back to ME1 and nuked Ashley's ass for a change.
Ah Google tells me having 4000+ ems allows Shepherd to live as long as Anderson is saved from illusive man (as in the last cutscene). Sorry about the wrong info.
Oh, come off it. Padok Wiks was a great character in his own right. "Somewhere, deep in the fabric of reality, that choice will be remembered for eternity."
Couple hours of combining all the footage. What took the most time was doing playthroughs of ME3. Did a shit-load of speed playthroughs, tweaking variables of the save game each time to get all the different deaths. Yeh so far I am missing Balak and Dr Gavin Archer's suicide. Wondering if I should reupload lol... OCD!
I never let that happen to Jack, but when I found out that it can happen I was so upset. They didn't even properly acknowledge her. She was my favourite character, and they didn't even give her a good send off. They could've included a little cutscene, or some more dialogue at least. Imagine one of your squadmates, (or even your lover) tortured, stripped of her humanity and forced to fight you, and in self protection, you are forced to put her down. That would break me. I would be destroyed. But instead she gets this weak ending. It's not really fair to her. Then again, it's not fair to a lot of characters. I really want the ME series on PC so I can mod it and play the Happy Ending. I also just want to spend more time with Jack.
I think Jack, Legion or Morinth should have been a unique boss fight if they got turned by Cerberus (Jack and Legion) or Reapers (Morinth). Especially Jack and Morinth should have been way stronger than regular Phantom or Banshee respectively. (Especially since Morinth was already on part with Samara in ME2 who was murdering Banshees already in ME3.)
Shepard literally talked Saren and Illusive Man to death.
Strong charismatics, the solution to anything
"Somewhere, deep in the fabric of reality, that choice will be remembered for eternity!"
Woah, getting a little meta there, Padok...
Anyone who shoots mordin is a disgrace
I agree with you. I could never kill mordin. Even if I was doing a renegade playthrough.
Except the Turians didn't ask for the Salarians...they asked for the Krogan. So you pretty much doom the Earth/Turian alliance as well. The only reason it isn't is plot armor.
"Or weren't you paying attention? His power base was built around control of access to fertile females. Kong's Fourth Point: Most importantly, getting Salarian aid
Countering Point #4: You get Salarian aid no matter what, so this is pointless.
Kong's Fifth Point: Mordin had falled to sympathy
Countering Point #5: Actually, if Wreav and Maelon's data are dead, then you can make sure he's alive
Personally, I think that taking the part of Geth against Quarians is the worst ...
@Jake M. well to be fair, the Krogans would not be a dying race if they were not so violent by nature, if they did not get hired as a mercenary and if they stopped fighting each other. Probably the best ME3 death compiliation on youtube. Thanks man! Saw a lot of scenes I've never seen before
I didn't play with Dagg in my game but the way he says "GO COMMANDER!" with such intensity, it brings tears to my eyes.
Wow this took a LOT of work and was very well edited and documented. Kudos! This is going to save me sooo much time because I really wanted to see several of these scenes. Thanks a ton.
*crying so hard* Thanes and Legions deaths always makes me cry :''(

Thanks for the heads up Wreave we totally didn't see the godzilla sized thresher maw BEFORE it went right past us
27:05 Grunts laughs can cure cancer, instantly.
Great video. It's nice to see some of the harder to get scenes like Kelly Chamber's fate
Thanks for the compilation. The saddest one, IMO, is the Kelly's suicide. She's such a sweetheart.
This video is one of the things that makes ME3 so great regardless of peoples inability to look passed the endings, which I thought were fine. Shows how many variables they put into the game so that you really can have a different experience each time you play

A full hour of deaths.. My poor heart can't handle it.

Well done,thanks for sharing :D
Thank you for all your effort!
Love how Ashley curses you with her last breath hehe
Cheers man. Yeh also Balak's (ME1 DLC) death and Dr. Archer's suicide when he is told his brother is dead.
I commend you for having the guts to shoot Mordin. I personally was unable to, despite the fact I was going for a pure renegade playthrough.
43:00 General Tullius is in Mass Effect?
Dat Eevee See also Sgt. Foley from MW3 (as admiral anderson)
Very nice compilation. The only things that come to mind that you could possibly add are relationship variations on some of the deaths. I know Thane and Miranda have them. Not sure about Tali or Ashley/Kaiden.
Nice video! It seems like you added alot more, good job!
When I watched Grunt die for the first... I had no more tears for anybody else. Instead I killed every enemy with the ruthlessness of an end with no Krogan tankbred warrior at my side.
Cheers mate. Glad you enjoy it.
Lot of hard work...But THANK YOU MAN!

Awesome work
Shoot legion?!?! NEVER! that was so fucking sad...
Jildert Hof Better then Tali committing suicide commit. Besides, Bioware screwed up the Quarian/Geth conflict in ME3 anyway.

I actually didnt know that ;D thanks bro!
that was a lot of work damn dude good job i'm proud of you :)
Wow, the one w/ Mordin crawling across the ground was pretty damn heart wrenching. :(
I felt that Mass effect 3 was a massive disappointment not only the ending but my playthroughs were almost the same.
Don't you love how mordins replacement gets shot and still cures genophage.
Oh wow what do you know.
I assumed it was just the add on from the dleted scene hehe
Thanks for the info.
Great Job! =)
Shooting Mordin and shooting Legion three times...easily the most heart-wrenching scenes I've experienced this year.
Thanks mate!
Eve's death is surprisingly emotional, didn't expect it to hit me that hard.
53:41 Now we can say The Protheans are gone for good
May he be remembered in our hearts.
It was like a throw of disgust. Shepard disgusted at the choice he was forced to make. Killing a friend, to give his home planet the best chance for survival.
Strange how one simple action can have such a huge meaning behind it.
Woah I hadn't even noticed the dead squadmates on the ground towards the end of the game, that actually kinda fills in some of the plotholes
It definitely was a sad moment. The only superior other than Adm. Hackett, to always have Shepard's back in the entire trilogy dying right next to Shepard. Lasting as long as he could against the Reapers. I loved his line about (paraphrasing) "feeling like years since he actually sat down".
Loyalty in ME2 causes this, Favourite cut scene in all ME.
Done, and felt like a badass
Indeed, that was tragic to see Marauder Shields die along with the 3 Huskateers.
Totally.Worth.It.
He was loyal, survived the suicide mission, appeared on the Rachni planet and everything was the same as this video, except he lived
That is respectable. Thats what makes this game so enticing. For me, I could never shoot Kaidan, but just like you, that's my inclining.
And that's when Shepard wakes up and discovers in was all a dream in his mind after he touched the artifact, and it was a possible way of how the things would've ended if he didn't cared shit about it.
That one of Anderson cracks me up every time..
this vid is hilarious!
My guess is that they're talking about the deleted scene where Anderson says how proud he is of Shepard
I'm pretty sure if I watched a full of hour Mass Effect characters dying my life would enter a downward spiral of depression from which I would never recover.
I never trusted Legion, but at 36:09, it even brought a tear to my eye.
I think it says a lot about the game designers (in a good way) when someone can make an hour long compilation of tear bringing deaths just from one instalment in a series.
You missed one; The death of Mass effect's narative cohereance.
You can find footage of it when the moment the Catalyst appears...
I did not consider what would happen if Mordin did not make it. he made it so clear that someone else would have gotten it wrong.
Hey awesome video. i cannot imagine the hours put in to record all this footage. My question is at 18:01 how do you get the variant dialogue?
Should make a comprehensive ME1,2 & 3 compilation, but it would be like 3 hours long.
I'm right here!! ME3 is over, can't wait for RE6. Wooooooo!
Possibly the most depressing hour of my life...
Even if the 'dream' hypothesis is correct, it doesn't change the fact that the endings were practically the same and offered absolutely no closure. In fact, the endings only raised more questions.
I felt like such a bastard just WATCHING that. Legion is just the cutest thing ever, and I have no idea why 0.o
That must've taken a lot of time recopilating !
Strange, when I first played ME3, I didn't notice that Wreav dies. That's a shame, he was an interesting character.
How can Zaeed die (30:10) can you take to long getting to the apartment?
+Isaac Bryce -or Grunt's death for that matter.
+Isaac Bryce They die if you didn't complete their loyalty missions.
...and they somehow survive the suicide mission.
there are parts in suicide mission that don't require you to finish squadmate loyalty mission.
Even without checking the date of the video,he could've understood it because there aren't the EC casualties.
he lived in my playthrough. came out of the cave before shepard got on the ship
I certainly hope so, but until then, my main Shepard is still waiting to finish the story.
The worst part about killing Mordin with your pistol is that in cutscenes your pistol is always the M5 Carnifex, the pistol he gave you :(
Bioware didn't feel like writing a legitimate cameo and story and whatnot for her, so they modified a completely stock enemy with a new nameplate.
Mordin's part had me in tears...
I still can't believe Ash really said those words in 18:15 and Kaidan is not even angry at Shepard in that scene, he just said, he was doing his duty, glad I came back to ME1 and nuked Ashley's ass for a change.
If you don't tell her to change her identity - she dies. If you get angry at her for spying on you - she dies.
The only sad one I cry over is when mordan goes up the tower and sings the song he sung to you in mass effect 2
Ah Google tells me having 4000+ ems allows Shepherd to live as long as Anderson is saved from illusive man (as in the last cutscene). Sorry about the wrong info.
Anyone who killed or knowingly let a teammate die is just a heartless creep!
Oh, come off it. Padok Wiks was a great character in his own right.
"Somewhere, deep in the fabric of reality, that choice will be remembered for eternity."

You should have included one of the endings, because we all died on the inside when we got to them.
15:49
Thane, no! Stay where you are, goddamnit! You've got a gun, he's got a sword! Why would you get CLOSER to him?!
You did good son, you did good. I'm... proud of you...
I never let that happen to Jack, but when I found out that it can happen I was so upset. They didn't even properly acknowledge her. Especially Jack and Morinth should have been way stronger than regular Phantom or Banshee respectively. (Especially since Morinth was already on part with Samara in ME2 who was murdering Banshees already in ME3.)
Don't go to the Grisson academy to rescue Jack, later you will then find her as a phantom who tries to kill you.
could you make another one of these but with the benny hill music
wtf.... is that a reaper destroyer behind the normandy?!?!?! 0:30
+Pentak0 Yes they are all landing on Mars like joker said.
