Hi, I have a Google website and I can't seem to remember the password or even how to get into it make changes to the website. How do you suggest I do this? Should I create a new Google website and transfer the stuff over? That might not be feasible since I can't remember my password.
What happens to my email addresses connected to that domain I am transferring? Is the inbox transferred automatically to Google? and where do I see my emails? Thank you!
can we plan a transfer to occur at a future date? godaddy requires 60 days minimum before renewal date where transfers are not allowed, which is a roach motel approach to keeping customers tied to godaddy or lose their remaining time on the annual registration costs.
I'm in the thought process of transferring domain from Dreamhost to Google so this is video is very helpful. Do you have any guidance or videos as far as what needs to be done with emails when transferring domains? I don't want to lose any of my old emails as well as my team. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for the tutorial! I would like to transfer from AWS to Google, but on the last step, I was confused when searching for their "approval" page/ how to release the domain? Thanks.
So when a domain transfer is completed will it have a new website or the old website? I want to transfer domains because the current hosting site makes us use this extremely long website which not business card friendly nor do I like saying “just Google use”
Hey Tony, So I'm trying to transfer my domain from Hostinger to Google Domains. When I got to the "Import Web settings" portion, it says that google did not find my website and to review my DNS records to ensure that all records have been found. And that I might have to manually add missing records. I'm so lost. What does this mean? Thanks for your help!
I purchased a domain name on sedo it’s currently registered with dynodot in order to use my new website and for it appear and garner traffic do I need to move it to google domains ? For it to pop up in the google search box when searched ?
Good vudeo. When the domain is transfered, what happened with the content of the web site? will that be transferred or we lose all the content of the web site? I hope you can comment. Thanks!
Hello, I have a question. My domain is already on google domains and I would like to transfer ownership of the domain to another user who is already on google domains. Is the transfer process the same? Thank you in advance!
my question is, what happens to the actual web site that is sitting on the old company's server. I need to create a email adress with the domain name to attach to my google account for email campaigns. they ask to move the domain name. I am worried what about the web site its self. does it transfer also? Thanks in advance
Website does not transfer when you transfer your domain. You will need to move the website separately. If you are using WordPress by any chance, here is a tutorial for migrating a website ua-cam.com/video/JsQTkyHDvz0/v-deo.html
@Tony Teache Tech I transferred the domain to a new domain registrar. Now, it's in the propagation period. Why is it that I am unable to access my Cpanel to access my website files? Also, I can share the URL of the website, can you help me figure out if there is a problem in the propagation? I know propagation can take time, but I sense there is some problem. I am not used to Doman transfer, but I had to do it for my client because the developer of my client was not cooperative with the client and to me. And, some of my work depended on the developer.
Hi Tony. This might be a long shot but at the end of the video you mentioned you're available to help with domain transfers. I 'm in the middle of transferring one to Google and have some questions. Can you help?
Hi Tony first of all thank you for your amazing videos, i have a similar problem i bought my domain from GoDaddy it also shows on the google my business with the connect button next to it, but when i click connect it doesn't connect. can you please suggest what i should do thanks.
Hello Tony, I have a website made already with my domain link to a website called Porkbun, if I do the transfer like how you described, it Will it affect my website or the servers in anyway? Thank you for the great and well understanding content!
Hello Tony, I have a question. I'm trying to buy my domain name, but i'm wondering if mail comes with it as well or do you have to do that separately? Also, my country (Belgium) is not in the list. I selected the Netherlands, and now they're asking me for a billing address.. What do I do? Thank you in advance!
Hi Assia, Google Domains has email aliases which are essentially a fully functional email address within your Gmail inbox. Here's a video about how to set that up. ua-cam.com/video/RbT28X0wiRw/v-deo.html As for the billing issue, I'm not sure how to help you with that.
@@TonyTeachesTech let me give you details. I have moved my domain from x to y provider. transfer is under process. I need to know what steps I have to do once this transfer is is complete, in terms of, email settings as per this new domain?
@@shahtc If I understand you correctly, to ensure a smooth transfer, please make sure your DNS settings at y are identical to x, at least in term of mail-related DNS settings
Hi, quite easy to understand. I have a little question, what happens with my website during the domain transfer? Can I still access my website or it will be down Throughout the process?
Your website should still be operational during most of the transfer. I would just be prepared on the destination side with a copy of your website so users can immediately start using it when the transfer is complete
No matter where you bought your domain name from, you don't need to transfer it to where your website is hosted in order to use it. You can simply change the DNS records (specifically the DNS A record) to point to the IP address of the server that your website is hosted on. Does that make sense?
Yes. You would need to transfer the domain to Google Domains in order to use it with GMB. Otherwise you can set up a redirect support.google.com/business/answer/7032844?hl=en
Great video. Thanks. Question - after the initial $12 transfer, do you pay that every year or just once? For the ongoing domain payments, you pay google domain instead of your previous domain provider (namecheap in my case), right?
Google Domains sold all of their domains to Squarespace. So as of Sept 2023, Squarespace discounts a domain's first year from $20.00 down to $12.00, but makes you agree to an auto-renewal of $20.00 each year thereafter. I personally wish Google Domains hadn't done that, smh.
Google has some of the best infrastructure. This can result in faster DNS lookup times versus a less sophisticated domain name registrar which in turn yields your web pages being delivered to your users faster. Also their free email aliases allows you to create email accounts for your domain name. I'll have a video on this topic in the next few days. And I guess I have trust in Google. I happily use a lot of their products.
@@TonyTeachesTech BUT you have to pay for a user account for each tld if you want to ascribe the tld url to each website. (Or am i missing something here?! :)
@@TonyTeachesTech in a nutshell, if you register a domain through google domains and attach it to your primary workspace, you get email ok but the url will be a subdomain of your primary workspace domain. Not good if you want websites for completely separate topics
Hi Tony, amazing your channel. I follow it quite often, and today pop up a question for me. I have a domain name I bought using namecheap (for example: majiji.com) and it is hosted by Bluehost. So I'd like to use the email from my domain (info@majiji.com) to log in in google account once I can use Google's interface to send and receive emails, rather then using Roundcube (the one offered by my hosting).
