      I thought I read somewhere that CC didn’t play this solo. If you listen to all the other solos on the album it’s very different to this.
      But I could be wrong.
      Having said that.. this is probably one of my all time solos though too.

    In a world where everything is written in minor leaving you feeling a bit down. CC and Poison were not afraid to write a fun party song in major, leaving you feeling good when it’s over. Wish I appreciated them more back in the day. Great lesson Marty

    Well done Marty, despite the flak Poison have always been one of the big dogs in the kennel. Their songs have always been fun and cool to play, they are the AC/DC of hair metal.

    The tone was very raw. It's what made the record great. Like with Too Fast for Love. Unrefined meant hungry and aggressive and it was awesome.

    I love this break down lesson Marty . Heck talk dirty to me is is one of my favorite song 🎵. Back when it was on guitar hero😝🤘🏻🤘🏻😄. Made really wanna play the darn thing for real . Love E flat tuning makes string bends easier 🤘🏻🤘🏻😎.

They were more glammy in look back then but I was immediately drawn to his playing. That Flesh & Blood record they did in '90 is the best album they ever made, in my opinion.

    Killer lesson Marty! I've always been a Poison fan. Saw them last in Concert in 2002 with Cinderella, Dokken, Slaughter, Faster Pussycat, & Quiet Riot. Killer Concert at an outdoor venue in Ohio. Cinderella stole the show in my opinion but Poison didn't disappoint. Seen them several times. CC is great. Thank again Marty.

    Looking good! The Schecter E-1 FR S is one of my favorite guitars overall. Luv that beast! I prefer the green burst myself. But, the purple one is just as bad ass.

    Love that Guitar !!! I still haven't pulled the trigger on buying one ? How does it differ from the Explorer ?

      Thank you! Well, to be honest it's pretty similar. The neck feels a little nicer on the Schecter ... I think it's Ebony. The carbon fiber binding is sweet. The pickups are a huge difference obviously with the sustaniac. The Schecter is just more modernized... which has its pros and cons. It's a wicked guitar in my opinion.

    Great lesson! And very close sound. CC is a good player ( he was moving all stage and doing a good job) he was fun guitarist and very efficient. But all we know about his other issues. And it could be a perfect video if your guitar were intonate or tune properly. Every chord past 7 fret is out of tune. I’m sure that is a intonation stuff. But , a good lesson!

    The G isn't an inversion, it is just a G5. He didn't play the extra note because it would mean playing it one fret higher because of the B string.

    Funny how when any guitarist goes to show how someone played it, they always and I mean always start with, most people play it wrong and im gonna show you the right way. Another thing all guitarist do, even when you just tuned the guitar with a digital tuner, what so they do??? They say oh, it’s a little out of tune 😂😂😂😂😂 You’ll notice it now, all the time

    Just to clarify ... I was alive in the 80s and Poison was not a metal band. They were a glam rock band who everybody thought was queer as a football bat. They wore more hair spray, makeup, lipstick, and spandex than your sister.

    I saw them in Lexington Kentucky in 1990. They kicked ass live and I saw Pamela Anderson with Bret.
    All that being said, Warrant opened for them. Warrant literally blew them off the stage with their show.
    That tone is beastly!
    I agree, I never liked CCs tone. It was always too much presence and cut for my ears.

      You have to be able, in this world, to distinguish between Technical ability and Aesthetic ability. This solo is amazingly Aesthetic (beautiful, fun) while being simple in a Technical sense. First lesson in Composition is to try to create with very little e.g. 4 or 5 notes which limit your technique. Today all you have is Technique and no Creative ability

    C2 sure wrote some of the most iconic riffs of the 80s, but his solos are kinda suck imo. His vibrato is literal garbage.

I have come to realize that not every video has to be some insane or tricky guitar part because not everyone is at that level yet. That's something that dawned on me (finally) even after years of witnessing it as an in person teacher. Don't believe me? Well read some of the comments. 🤷
