  • Here's how to undervolt your i9 14900K, 14900KF, 14900F and 14900, it also works for the up and coming i9 14900KS
    The goal is to reduce the temperature and power consumption while increasing the performance at the same time! It works for both B760 and Z790 plus for Z690 and B660 it will be the same! This will also helps reduce stutters and increase productivity performance.

    Just rewatched your video again as I actually switched to Intel after my Gigabyte X670E motherboard slowly died and then never powered on again. This simple explanation was perfect for me as I noticed the temperatures in Cinebench went straight to 100C on my new 14900K on some cores, even with a custom loop and Intel power limits used. This is keeping me under 90C now which is superb. I just got done testing slowly with benchmark software and a few games and I got it 'stable' currently at -0.0900v adaptive offset voltage. I tried -0.1000v and it passed benchmarks with higher scores but then Alan Wake 2 crashed to desktop and gave loads of WHEA errors. So I backed it off to -0.0900v and will see how we go from there! Can't thank you enough for this easy to understand video. I have done this sort of thing before, but it has been a while since I used an Intel motherboard and your guide really helped to simply explain things. What a guy!

    This was very handy. Got temps on a NH-D15 from pegged at 100C (BIOS default) to sitting in the low 80's w/ 5.2Ghz all cores running Cinebench. That's a lot more reasonable. Why MSI assumes water cooling as default is crazy. I can imagine people just plugging one in and leaving it at default settings, never checking temps will be complaining about their chips failing at some point. Big honking tower coolers can totally handle it if you undervolt a little. Honestly pretty impressed. The thing can scream on single core tasks and run 5.8Ghz all day never breaking 60C. I would take it higher but it has to be 100% stable as it's a workstation and not a gaming PC.
    Actually, after running some more tests, the chip is performing better than it was without the undervolt. More stable clocks not dipping occasionally to 5.0Ghz as it was before.

      @@ImWateringPSUs It's actually a good idea to use XTU as your starting point to dial in your settings for stability, then simply uninstall the software and apply those settings in the BIOS. Running XTU while benchmarking is a worst case sceneario on performance. Which means you should be able to find a 100% stable setting with it, then be slightly more aggressive in the BIOS, and if you can't get stability while doing that, just go back to the settings you found with XTU.

    PS: i want to add one more important things! It is stable 57ms and no lags at all! I think it is very important information!

    This didn't work for me, however the video did help me eventually find the right settings to successfuly undervolt.
    DON'T DO ALL THE STEPS. Doing all the steps made my games crash on startup.
    The only steps I did was bump my cooling system down to box (253 volts), and then undervolt with offset by 0.100. This let me run cyberpunk in ultra settings at 70c. Before I did these settings, I was hitting 100c consistently.
    I'll update this post if I run into any problems.
    Edit: cinebench is stable with temps hovering between 85-93 with a few cores spiking to 96-98. Will be testing -0.125.
    Edit 2: -0.125 was causing crashes. System is now stable at -0.110 with temps not reaching 90 during Cinebench. XMP enabled successfully.

I got 54 ratio on p core and 43 in e cores. Voltage offset is 0.075 . I also have an MSI z790 and with latest bios I can now get 0.08 stable. Id say the 0.075 should be stable on all. If not go to 0.070 and dial it up by 0.001 til it crashes during a benchmark. It's a good little undervolt + overclock

Clock speeds are as they should be and work perfectly fine. Someone could try the same thing with the MSI motherboard with the 13/14700K and 13/14900K processors.

    For 13th and 14th gen its even easier. All the user needs to do is 1) initially set a sync all core to whatever their default is, ie 5.6 for 13900ks.
    Set your appropriate DC_LL as per LLC level, ie. On Asus LLC4 this is DC 0.98-1.02 depending on board. This makes VID match Vcore.
    Then you set ACLL to a lower number. For this example, 0.20 is the start. Then you run R23 or TLOU shader compiling. If it crashes, raise. If it doesnt, lower. Repeat.
    Theres your undervolting. After finished, revert back to normal core behaviour and run Geekbench 6. If it crashes, raise V/F 10 voltage as its not crashing at full load voltage and is instead crashing at the higher frequency boosts.
    This gives you significantly greater control over every step of frequency, and only involves touching 1 knob, or 2 if you want high frequency light load boosts.

    Bro, I support your channel but you really need to do more stability testing before saying you can undervolt these cpus this much.
    What program are you stress testing with? How bout Ycruncher or Prime? You really need to revisit these claims and back them up with stability tests.
    In other words you need to prove your advice is stable, just saying so isn't enough you know what I mean?

    • @ImWateringPSUs
      @ImWateringPSUs  5 місяців тому +1

      I do very in-depth stress tests to validate all my numbers. I test at least 3 different samples on 2 different motherboards and validate the average stability point, plus I ask people I know to run them for me. Generally for every undervolting video there is a PC build on the channel with that CPU in which I also run some stability testing on-screen. But really seeing a stress test that just “works” wouldn’t be good content to bring, so I stick to the tutorial!

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 4 місяці тому

      This is not how you should look at it. Intel is not the ones setting the voltage, the mobo manufactures are. If you ask Intel, this CPU should not be run this hot unless you really want to push it. Look at Intel's specs. Max power is 253 watts. This is where the CPU should run, and this is where it runs if you set the voltage properly. ANYTHING above 253 watts, is basically to be used for actual overclocking. This is also why recommending to set the long term wattage as is shown here, is not the thing to do, not even 288 watts, unless you understand how to overclock.
      So blame the mobo manufactures, not Intel. It's not Intel that makes it possible for the CPU to draw 350 watts while just running stock core clock speed.
      Set the voltage right, and there's nothing wrong with the 12, 1l and 14 gen chips.
      Just turn off Multi Core Enhancement in the Bios and fine tune the voltage if you feel like it.
