For everyone that has the error "VERIFICATION CODE MISMATCH". After almost 2 hours of looking for the issue just figured out what was the problem. It is actually very easy. The new domain you want to connect with Facebook needs to be the Primary domain on Shopify. Mine wasn't and took me so much time to figure it out.

Hey, it shows on business manager that an old business manager account is connected to my present domain but i deleted that business manager account as it connected to the wrong one. So it shows my verifications fails and when i got to add meta tag to im not sure if I should or not as I already have my google analytics pasted in there ? Any sugesstions

There is a verify button on Facebook once the Meta Tag is installed on the Shopify site. Not sure what you are referring to.

You can prioritize up to 8 events, opted out users will only show your highest taken action. Facebook will model conversion performance. You should still be able to track ROAS.

It's saying that i have to wait 72 hours for a verification, have i to wait or did i put something wrong in the code ?
It can take up to that time, but most of the time it is way quicker -- under 45 mins.

I would review Shopify's latest FAQ if it has been more than 48 hours and you are not able to verify, and even review some of the previous comments here as people have had issues/posted resolutions.
This was a great video, thoroughly explained. I have one question, so I verified my domain and then a month later I accidently deleted the verification meta tag (long story). I checked back and it seems to still show the domain is verified. Do I need to add back that meta tag or was it only needed to verify it that one time? Thanks
Great question, not 100% sure -- to be same I would add it back in the short term. Unless there has been no impact to your campaign, and in that case you might be good.

Doesn't work anymore :( *UPDATE*: Was about to give up and I pressed verify again randomly and it worked! was just slow af, took like 15 minutes after I added the meta-tag and I clicked verify about 30x until it worked randomly.

Doesn't verifying both Shopify and primary domains (which is the same thing) cause tracking issues and duplications? I don't know...
None so far :) as you have to select which domain you will use each time you setup an ad (at the ad-lvel next to the pixel you want to use for the campaign), so that prevents the duplication process.

Oh that is strange -- I never got that message -- maybe check the Shopify FAQ doc on their site to see what to do when that message is prompted.
So I had this issue. You just need to wait a little bit more. Facebook needs time to find your domain. I waited like 1-2 hours.

Ummm yes, 'Added Payment Info' is good if you have a flow where that happens at a different stage than 'Initiated Checkout'.
Hello, thank you for your sharing. You recommended firstly Purchase, initiate checkout, add to cart and viev cont for configuring. I want to do that purchase, add the payment, initiate checkout, ATC and VC . Would you recommend that?
Yeah that makes sense, it should be based on your websites checkout flow to match in order of steps.

Great video! I verified my domain using the meta tag verification method, but if I change my website theme from Debut to Brooklyn then the code from the new theme Brooklyn disappears from the head section but the domain status is still verified on facebook. Will there be any problem if I change my website theme??
Good question -- not sure, but I would sugges that you always just add the code to the head to prevent any issues!
When I attempted this the "verify" button never showed up, so I clicked "sharing debugger tool." The debugger tools said I have an error: "The following required properties are missing: fb:app_id" SOMEONE HELP :( How do I fix this?

The Meta Tag verification is not working for me.. I`m doing everything correctly, it always tells me code mismatch
A few people have mentioned that is happening to them also, check out the Shopify FAQ to see if there has been any updates for that.

But I have a problem...I'm using the Start theme and the problem is that they don't have the option to view/change the code available, so I can't install a meta tag to my Shopify store. I've already contacted Shopify support and I'm still waiting for a response. Any help you can give? Thanks
Here is the solution for anyone who has the same problem as me and wants to use the Shopify Start theme. First, they don't give access to the Start theme code. To gain access, you must upgrade your plan. But since I didn't want to, the solution I found was to change the domain (in Shopify) to one I had already purchased from my host. So I asked my host to point the domain to my Shopify store and I also asked to set up DNS TXT record so IG/Facebook could verify the domain. And that's how I got Facebook domain verification on Shopify, following the steps in this video. Thank you Zaryn!

I was verified my website domain with a Facebook business. But unfortunately without removing domain I permanently deleted included Business manager. Now I facing a problem, I created new business manager and I was try to verify same domain on new business manager. But Its wouldn't verified.

Yeah you might need to remove it from your previous Business Manager.
when I add events the pixels does not match the verified domain ID it says pixels for facebook ads
You need to review what pixel is connected to your ad account -in business manager -- it should be a simple fix
