You can change your business name with a simple DBA and submitting that to Google. Don’t need to change everything. Also if you build citations with the DBA name; when the Google employee looking at the change request checks, they usually will just approve it based on other sites and the DBA which cost like $99.

Hey @WesMcDowellInc great video! Quick question about dedicated service pages for each service. If a multi-location service area business (SAB) has a dedicated landing page for each service area (IE LA, New York, Austin, etc...) does Google only crawl that landing page attached to the GBP's website link? Meaning each location (let's go with Austin) should have it's own dedicate Austin [service page] - something like /location/austin/austin-tire-repair or would Google crawl the generic service pages not attached to the GBP landing page like /services/tire-repair? Google would crawl it and undestand it from website perspective, but would not help the GBP ranking if is further from the zone. GBP attached to GBP should be consider only up to 20 mile radius even lower if high competition.

It might sound confusing, but you can never truly outrank local businesses on Google, and they can’t always outrank you either. Here’s why: Google promotes local businesses based on proximity. Even if your Google My Business profile isn’t the best, if a customer is just 100 meters away from you, Google will likely promote your business, maybe not first, but possibly second. For instance, if Marta is only 100 meters away from me, I might appear in the first place in her search results. However, if Roger is 2 kilometers away at the same time, I could appear much lower, maybe around the 6th or 7th place, or possibly even lower.

I know that I can hide the address on my GBP page. My legal business address is with a registered agent service several counties away, so that isn’t ideal to use. Any recommendations of how to address with the Google “? Business Profile?
As far as business names go, does that include making sure you have the "LLC" portion of your business name? I see alot of my competition doesnt have the LLC in there
Great Q! The LLC name represents the legal entity of the company, while the business name is used to market the brand to customers. So the "business name" as put into GBP doesn't need to inclde that legal part. Hopefully that makes sense, cheers!
@@WesMcDowellInc Thanks Wes. Regarding the thing you said about if you're a service guy and you can work anywhere, but your address isn't in the city centre, could one way to resolve that be putting your company address as one to a post office in the city center, rather than your home address? I currently do that for my business not for that reason, but because I don't want to put my actual home address for the public to see. My business address doesn't show a PO#, but shows an actual address with a number, like #850, 14444-50ST.

When i press on the complete my profile google keeps asking me to sign up to google advertising and they are giving me a $400 voucher. Is that what i need to do to complete my profile 100% is there a way of telling what section is missing because i cant find it?
Same here. I get two unfinished items. 1 is advertising on Google and 2 is signing up for a domain and business email from them. The domain and email I have had for a long time and don't with to change. Google ads are out of the question entirely because my service type (computer support) has been banned from buying ads for years now because of the proliferation of telephone support scams. It doesn't stop Google from sending me offers to buy ads though lol.
Interesting how you make backlinks like a bad apple, like do it when you have time. Thanks for the insight in this video. I’m a home based web designer and developer. Understanding how to show my local area without using my home address is a challenge.
Im surprised backlinks are ranked so low. Every SEO video I've seen always hugely prioritized them.
To be clear I’m not saying they’re not important. Just to do the other stuff in the high tiers first bc they’re lower hanging fruit
Hi A question here. Did you create a video about “ Mexico is about to get rich” ( All parts)”
The narrator of thi video and you are the same person?! I apologize he has the same voice. Thank you for your videos help so much
just incredible the amount of information!
The video is great, informative!
brother you deserve 42M views not 42k. Glad you made this video 😇😍
Thank you so much
Will the Googlebot penalize me if I copy and paste my own information to my website, I wrote the info but can I paste it with getting penalized for it.
It's a pleasure to watch.
Glad you found it helpful!
You do an amazing job on your videos and your content. You have a sub membership? Something like if somebody pays $30 or $40 a month they get some extra details that you may not provide in your UA-cam videos? Or maybe you answer five questions a month specific to killer needs and services?
Why am I getting 20 messages like this since yesterday? What are u guys selling?
@@WesMcDowellInc I've been watching your content for a while. I'm personally, not trying to sell anything. I just think you're doing a great job. I do local SEO on a small scale in Utah. I have a UA-cam Channel that I work with clients on doing videos (frank_photiadis). I also watch the ranking Academy but I like the way you do videos better LOL. I can't speak with the others that you're getting messages from and I was just curious. No hidden agenda or anything I just thought it would be interesting product for you to offer and for us to consume. A partner annihilated my business a while back and now I'm in rebuild mode trying to keep up with all of the changes with AI and local SEO.
Ah, thanks man! Sorry for the accusatory tone, I've just been getting IG messages trying to sell me on Skool for memberships. Always complimenting my content first, then sliding it in there. But to answer your question, no, I don't have anything like that at this time, just a course with another on the way! But thanks for watching!
Thanks, really useful content!
I live in apartment but i have team web designers working remotely, when i try to verify my business profile it asks me for video, can i just send my home office? would it work?
Im also a website designer of beginner level. Can u give me some work as my portfolio
This is GREAT info!! ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Wes im a long time follower i have a question.
No matter what i do i cant complete my google business profile 100% I filled out every aspect of my profile and it still says 90% complete.
How to speed up link indexing in 2024, except for telegram bots, what are the most popular ways now?
Interesting how you make backlinks like a bad apple, like do it when you have time. I just dealt with a local business who has literally done everything on their GMB, like what you said, perfectly optimized onpage, and yet it was all the way down and drowned by competitors. The moment I start hitting it with backlinks, nothing else, lo and behold, it gets to top 3.
The point is those are not low hanging fruit. Take care of everything else u can control first.
@@WesMcDowellInc that's not the point of your video... backlink is one of the major backbone in ranking your website, and you just make it like an "option", in a way like you're regurgitating what Google says, and any true expert know this is such bs info Google feed to many people.
is this for LSA? or just GMB?
On my GBP, how to I change my Online Retail to Service Business?
What do you mean Vinethics helped you?
He is probably selling you something LOL. So many scammers here now. It is pathetic.
@@thefooshisloose maybe. I never followed up.
Sir recently created a new Google business profile but is still under process & got an email from the Google business team waiting for 14 days 😢 Help sir
Wes, do you still do service for redoing website? My new one done by a developer was left unfinished and quite a mess.
That's awful 😞
What is your business? I may be able to help you. If not, I won't pretend I can.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I'm no longer offering services, just focusing on YT and my courses. Hope you can find someone to fix it!
@@WesMcDowellInc OK, thanks.
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing this information.
I love the Vestaboard 🙂
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
i dont know what the username is? After filling out business email, im asked to make a username and password. I'm like a vulcan and it appears illogical to need a password to access an email thats public to everyone but you. Totally rediculos, the illusion of safety. The seatbelt user name.
Thank you for this man
Glad it was helpful!
@@WesMcDowellInc I myself is an SEO nerd and I have never organized it the way you did. Yours is very comprehensible and organized
Great vid as always, Wes!

You are welcome!
Another module to start when I've finished your course..👍
It's beyond praise.
Great content!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Doesn’t citations include backlinks?
No not necessarily
this video itself is a goldmine if you sell it as a service
Thank you and happy it is helpful!
I would like to send you an African art painting. You have helped me
That's just awesome.
Thank you!
great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Google's leaked info says keywords in business name can actually hurt your rankings.
Yep if it’s not in your business name… like I said 😜
Great!
Seo or Ads?
Both first the ads while doing the seo because seo takes time
Seo
Disagree with backlinks in D tier. If you don’t have enough backlinks and weak domain authority, you will never rank high for your location landing pages.
You even say to do this in your other video on optimizing GBP.
D doesn’t mean unimportant… it’s there bc it’s less in your control and u should focus on the other tiers first.
Social networks have 4x'd their organic traffic in the last year or so and you're claiming they don't help you rank... Even though EEAT is a validation factor you need in order to rank and social is part of EEAT. But ok man... Not to mention content syndication to your social networks def helps it rank better
Cite your source pls
@@WesMcDowellInc How about the recent leaked documents and NavBoost being mentioned 86 times? Once you understand NavBoost and how user engagement influences higher ranking you'll understand Google doesn't care where those user engagement metrics come from. We've been using referral traffic for 5 years to boost ranking. Split testing between not using social and content syndication vs. using content syndication to social networks. Results were night and day between the two. (I Hit enter too early) To address the eeat comment. EEAT was specifically mentioned, in that, although EEAT isn't a ranking factor per se, it is a validation factor. YMYL niches were specifically mentioned
@@WesMcDowellInc did you remove my comment? It was the leaked documents. I gave a more in depth explanation already. Not doing it if you’re just gonna remove comments that prove you to be wrong.
