    I’m about to try this on my 2000 bayliner 2855 with Bravo III. Thanks for making the video! Looks pretty straight forward, might spring for a new carrier assembly

    Great job on your tutorial. I am tackling this repair next. I just keep adding gear lube for now, but at $20 a quart, it gets old fast!

    Thanks so much for this video! Helped me right thru this job! Had issues like you did getting the seal carrier out of the thing! Man it took a lot of careful banging to get that thing out but I got it out and got the new one back in the same way you did! I would also recommend replacing the O-ring as well which I did. Thanks again great video!

    Great work and great video. Your Bravo 3 is in excellent shape as well as your bearing carrier. You're the exception not the rule. Obviously you took great care of it.....good to replace that rubber O ring in the aft section of the bearing carrier.

    Fantastic channel brother...the Keys look amazing and I might just retire there after seeing your channel. I just purchased a 2006 Bayliner 285 so I've watched all of your maintenance vids. I'm in Chicago so I'll be cruising Lake Michigan. We don't have sandbars like you do :(

    Some heat helps to get the restrainer and bearing carrier off. Also so does soaking with Kroil or other better penetrating oil . The heat makes a huge difference

    Great video and instructions, did you have replace what looked like a o-ring on the outside of the seal carrier or is it unimportant?

    • @KeysBoatingChannel
      @KeysBoatingChannel  Рік тому +2

      Hi Michael, thanks for your comment. We reused the same one on there, but may change it on my next prop service. It looked in good
      shape no nicks, or cracks, we did removed it to clean out all of the broken pieces of shells. So far its working great. Thanks for watching! Peace!

      Its very important since it keeps the water out and oil in. I replaced mine its about $1.25 for the OEM O ring.

      Hi, thanks for your comment and watching our video! No never had any problems with the drain screw. But to make it easy to remove, just put a good size screwdriver and tap it a few times with a hammer and then try turning it... this always works for me. Thanks! Peace!
