Thank you so much for putting all of that together. I just bought a boat with a Bravo 3 and I'm just seeing what I may be up against for future maintenance. You're a good thorough teacher. I appreciate your effort to teach while you repair. Some guys know how to repair but they don't know how to teach. You can do both very well so thank you.
Eddie, Great videos. You did say something like you heard propellers do not need to be lined up, but, you line up the part numbers. You were honest in your representation and I would have done the same on my boat. I spoke to a propeller repair shop today and he says the two propellers on a Bravo III spin at different RPMs and you do not need to line them up.
Hi Eddie... Awesome job and a great step by step outline of the work being done along with a with clear view and well articulated narration to boot !!! I am new to boating and have this exact same drive (Bravo III) and I like doing as much maintenance myself on my vehicles as I can so this is a perfect watch and learn video clip for me personally as well. Thanks so much for taking the time to shoot it ! SRIII.
Hey Eddie Thanks so much for your videos! I’ve been watching you from way back. You have me the confidence to winterize my boat myself. Truly appreciate it pal. As a fellow Long Islander.... Thank you!!!!!
Thanks Eddie!! I've always jammed the 2x4 between the props, farting around for a minute. Never thought to have the 2x4 between the prop and cavitation plate..LOL SMH Been a subscriber for a while now....welcome back
Hello Eddie, I have a Bravo III outdrive and I'd like to know if there is an impeller in it? I already change the impeller on the motor beneath the cool fuel module/alternator. BTW, you are so thorough with the videos, great job and thank you!!
Great video! What’s the acid wash you mentioned? Muriatic? If so, I’m curious how it works. Did you have to mix with water? Did you put in a spray bottle? Did you use gloves, goggles & face mask?
this was filmed a few years ago so Im not sure if you will see this - I need to take mine off this weekend and Im a little unclear as to what you "lined up" when you put the props back on - was it the inscription matching up on both props ? Also another guy I watched used different size wrenches (except for the second prop, that was the same) - he used 13MM for anod and 37mm for first prop - I would think bravo III would all be the same idk ?
Thank for the correction. I know. But I wasn’t going to reshoot the whole video, over. For the Correction of nuts the bolts. I figured everybody would get it. 🤙
Prop Shaft Seals are going out/worn. A lot of tools and procedures, but doable. You need to remove the Bearing Carrier and shaft out to replace them. Hope Eddie will do a video on it...

Hello Great videos Do you know where the where the Mercathode Anode Assembly in located on a bravo 3 Mine is all bottom painted and it may be covered Thank you
Hi Eddie. I have a question, since I am not a mechanic by trade but I like to do basic maintenance on my boat ( i will get a new one in a few months) and I wonder if the special double-size wrench at each end would be a good option. rather than the 2 deep sockets you use to remove the propellers? I already bought my torque wrench. thank you
If you use a wrench. You will not be able Your torque wrench. to put it back on. And I don’t think you can take the first bolt off with a wrench. You would be able to get in there. Hope that help you
@@OnboardWithEddie thank you for taking the time to answer me, it's a special key made for the bravo 3 but ok if I buy the two sockets as you have,it's better to buy another ratchet just to unscrew or i can take my torque wrench to unscrew the screws (LEXIVON click torque wrench with 1/2" drive up to 25/250ft-lb)
Trying hitting it with a hammer and a block of wood. As low as you can on the blade as low as you can to the hub of the prop. Don’t you just hit one side, keep spinning the prop and hit each blade. (Low by the hub of the prop and blade) 🤙⚓️
hello friend I want to change the oil to my outdrive mercury bravo 3 double propeller I wanted to know how much I should buy and if necessary when I make the change fill the plastic tank that is in the engine. Thank you very much in advance
Jimbo sammy Actually I figured it out. When mounting them back on, the rear propeller should have one blade that points up (12 o clock) and the outer propeller should have one blade that points down (6 o clock). That way they are properly synced, making sure that they will never both be pointing up, ever. It’s to avoid cavitation on the props. Mercruiser reference 72221 rinkerboats.vanillacommunities.com/discussion/861/prop-timing-torques-specs So do not match up the way they were put on before, it isn’t necessarily correct.
no rubber hubs on bravos. cant spin but may shear splines though unlikely. if you have slippage it could be engine coupler. would smell burnt rubber likely. or sheared splines in coupler and that would be audible.
@@OnboardWithEddie I fully understand. Hopefully you'll put out some more boating videos. I learned alot from your channel Best wishes to you and yours
Thank you for pointing that out. I just watched a video at the beginning I said 100 on the rear and 60 on the front. and doing a video when I was doing it. I also said 100 and rear 60 on the front Where did you hear me say it? The other way? I will correct it. Thanks
@@OnboardWithEddie I think I got confused with the terminology. I should have said forward facing prop (big nut) 100 and aft prop (small nut) 60. I think that is also what you were saying. Thanks.
The way I did mine was much easier, hit an underwater log and ripped the whole drive off, got a little transom damage doing it that way, but very effective.

Eddie love your videos, do you have a video for the brovo 3 propeller shaft seals replacement?
Yes, would be very helpful as that's not a Bravo 3 video. In the process of doing mine--would be a life saver!
Using a carbon steel brush on stainless can induce rusting. Thanks for the video!
Thank you Eddie. Was very informative.
Eddie, if i want to replace my Bravo One can I change it to a Bravo Three or would I need to change the entire mount on both sides of the transom?
You gotta clock or time the duoprops. Tail edge of leading prop must immediately flow into leading edge of trailing prop blade
Eddie, thanks for the awesome videos. Can you tell me if you are using Quicksilver 2C4C or marine grease? Thank you.

OSCAR RODRIGUEZ on & off hull & bottom cleaner.

mark dimaio They are 12years old. I do paint them every year.
What is the purpose of the nose cone? My B3 doesn't have one
To keep the electrolysis from eating away at your props and out drive. I would recommend putting one on. 🤙⚓️
Why does it matter how the props go back on? Won’t they spin in the same way regardless...?
yes. merc says it dont matter. at a given point they line up anyway.

The Inner prop is at 100 and the outer prop. is at 60. I only showed how munch on the inner prop. Not the outer prop.
