- Dave Chappelle is opening up about the recent controversy surrounding his Netflix special, ‘The Closer.’ The 48-year-old comedian took to Instagram to share his reaction to the recent protests and Netflix employee walkouts that have occurred since the comments he made in his special.

There were about 7 of them, according to UA-camr Vito, the guy who was there supporting Chappelle with a sign that said "dave is funny" whose sign the protestors broke. There were also hundreds of media. The media are blowing this story up because it sells headlines and makes them money...

im transgender and i was never bothered by dave Chapelle, he’s actually one of my favorite comedians!! And seeing all these extreme lgbtq advocates exaggerate and try to cancel anyone makes me feel so ashamed to be classified with them. I’m against cancel culture, but since they are out there making a fool of themselves. It reflects badly on the rest like me. I hate being in the community with those people. it's a handful of professionally offended people or attempting to make themselves relevant.
many years ago Dave Chappelle did a skit called the "Niggar Family" which was filled with what some might called "Harmful and offensive stereotypes". It was also funny as shit. Dave has always pushed these boundaries in pursuit of finding humor in the darkest of places. The difference is every other community that's been part of the jokes or skits over the years had a sense of humor and again, most people in the community do. It's just the vocal minority that have become obsessed with this push and pull.

I've watched The Closer 3 times and I cannot for the life of me see where he is being derogatory or disrespectful of the trans community. I think the special is one of his best, and obviously if the transgender community is upset, they have not watched it or listened to it in its entirety. Comedians make fun of everyone because that's the art form. If "comedy" hurts your feelings, then surviving in this brutal world is going to kick your arse.

The very important point to me was about Daphnie on how she was bullied so bad from the transgender community that she killed herself, because she supported Chapelle. So who's really the monster when you turn the mirror back at them.
I remember as a kid guys getting arrested for dressing like women and using the womens restroom at the park we played ball in. They would wait in the stalls for women and girls to spy on or masturbate. It was a fairly regular occurence too. So how do we separate the good from the bad? Why are their so many men looking to go in a womans rest room but almost no women looking to go in a mens room. One of the guys from our neighborhood is trans today. Growing up he went to juvenile hall for molesteing 4 boys from his flat so no one is going to tell me they are all legit.

The pendulum always swing to one extreme before it swings the other way. Woke media and the trans community at large think they can use cancel culture to force the whole world into submission. What they don't understand is Dave Chappelle isn't alone. There is an entire world standing behind Dave Chappelle. People from all over the world are more with him than they are with super woke Internet progressives. The harder the cancelling happens now, the more violently the pendulum swings when it does inevitably swing.
Also this chronically outraged state is unsustainable. Eventually it'll come to a point when the average person is so fed up with being harrassed for not bending over backwards to cater to the trans community's demands they'll just stop giving a fuck about trans and trans related issues. It's such a lose-lose scenario but only one side is aggressively lashing out ensuring this inevitable outcome.

A lot of people didn’t have the old school joking/roasting sessions as kids. What he said about his friend wasn’t really bad. And in fact, his feelings are exactly how some people feel when they first learn about the term transgendered.
We are inherently defensive to things that are new to us and it takes us time to understand and I’m glad he’s shared his experience because it’s teaching a lot of us to be more mindful and attentive to people in general.

I wonder how many of those who protest have actually watched the whole show. All the fuss made me curious, so I watched it -- from beginning to end. And that's called being objective. And Dave Chappelle made me understand and appreciate trans people more. And now I hear some people will decide for me, for us, what I, what we, should watch?!

I am a Muslim man. I worked with a large group of Gay people and Trans. I never treated a person unfairly or disrespected a person for their way of life, and they are people like you and I. However I believe it is ok to disagree. My book (creed/belief/way of life) disagrees with a gay or a trans. Simultaneously, their book disagrees with mine. Heck they must disagree on both accounts. So it goes. My book disagrees with theirs and vice versa. But we shouldn't disrespect the person holding the book for holding whichever book. One should not embrace their book to the point where you become a fanatic or an extremist. After all these are books that have existed before our time. You must be yourself aside of your book. A place that isn't gay, or religious. I expect people to crack jokes on what I believe in. The things I do and do not within applying the book. But we are not our books at the end of the day. After I die people will carry the books. We have to be ourselves and respect one another despite the books. I feel this is a good means of evolving. Disagree and have a chat about it. This too is good.
Dave Chapelle is genuine. He would not disrespect people. You can tell by his honesty and reasoning for the greater good of humanity. He is one that means well. He disagrees. But he is a good person in or outside of his beliefs. Perhaps it's the social inequality of 'still' being African American yet not American in America - as to why Dave addresses trans and their benefits over others. Perhaps its... well I think that may be it haha. Overall Dave is a comedian. A damn good one. I commend him on his reasoning, and the tool that is his legendary humor.
I didn't know who Hannah Gadsby was and wow! I'm watching some of her stuff and she is holding mighty tight to her book. So much so that I dare say that Dave Chapelle would mostlikely save my life if I was racist than Hannah in a life or death situation. Unless I was a girl haha. @@moesalamander7012 There are only two genders outside of birth defects/syndromes. The rest is indentity politics, or sexual indentity. If your trans or diagnosed as, hopefully all can work out-whether getting the hormones needed and surgery to transition, or simply finding a way to be happy and live with yourself. That is not someone's fault who makes a joke about trans while he helps his trans friend and there child. Influence like his widespread would help more people wake up to reality and stop wishing for everyone else to live in there made-up fantasy land narrative.
