I wish klei would Change this from bug into an intended mechanic and make it a little easier to pull off. That bug rewards players with a much less bothersome toadstool🤷🏻♂️
When toadstool gets hit he goes into hitstun for 0.5s. During the tree spawning phase theres a 2 second timer that counts down between spawning each tree. If hit on the right frame, toadstool will leave the hitstun state right as the timer between the trees end, which leads to an event not triggering that resets the timer (for the next tree). Normally this timer repeats 7 times (first tree is immediate then subsequent trees are supposed to be spawned 2 seconds apart for a total of 8 trees), but messing up the first timer prevents the rest of the trees from spawning after the initial one.
you need toad to get hit on exactly the 45th frame of the sporecap phase so that hitstun lasts until frame 60 which causes the 2 second sporecap tick timer to never finish. preventing further trees from spawning
@@salem.88 holy shit you're telling me this is a frame perfect trick? It makes the fight practical for single player but it requires a frame perfect input?

if this requires frame perfect then it's probably exclusive to Don't Starve Alone?
yes
Can you do the timed hit on wilson? Or you have to hold f after that specifically being with moose attack speed
any character works, but default melee hits land 1 frame later than moose so need to factor that
How does this work exactly?

So you have to stop attacking and hit right when it grows a 2nd time

@@salem.88Did you find some kind of audio/visual cue for the timing?
@@norf-kr6od you can time it based off the animation of the spore cap, since the timer lines up with the length of the sprouting animation.
