Quick Apple Pie For Those Who Work

- You can make this pie which will serve 4 with about a 5 minute prep time and 30 minutes to cook at 425 degree in a preheated oven.
Used in this video:
One Pillsbury refrigerator pie crust
One can Duncan Hines Comstock pie filling (21 ounce can)
Optional - 1 tablespoon butter, cinnamon and nutmeg
You can also use cherry or blueberry pie filling for this pie.

I just recently found these videos, because they were in my suggested videos. I had watched several before I discovered that Mr. Bucky had passed and that Mrs. Stokes was ill. I was so saddened to then hear of her passing, as well. They seem like genuinely good people. My condolences to the family of both Mr and Mrs Stokes.

Miss not having her on this earth. Blessings to her family. I love this idea and it’s just what I needed and the reason I liked her so much. She always had different ideas for same foods. I made this but used fresh apples that needed to be eaten. Wonderful ❤️
She had so many talents. Not only was she very bright, she was multi-talented. Painting, cooking, sewing, plumbing, upholstery, communication, shopping, freezing....I could go on and on. She shared many aspects of her life and the many things she was involved in with all of us, as you are doing, too. She was so like my own mother, supreme problem solver.

I must commend you on keeping it real. You had a tough day in the kitchen. Struggling with the crust, getting the filling out of the gelatinous liquid and then you dropped a piece. Poor dear. LOL I do love how you keep all that in there and don't edit it out. We all have days like this. Love your channel.

I really enjoy watching your videos. They are relaxing and contain good information. I always learn something new. I can’t possibly understand how someone can give a thumbs down to your videos, unless they are a vegan troll who goes around “thumbing down” anything on UA-cam containing an animal product regardless of whether the video is good or not. Love your recipes and manner! My husband and I eat similarly and watch our portions. All of our blood labs, blood pressure, etc are within normal limits. Portion control is the factor, not the omission of fats or animal products. Keep up the wonderful videos Phyllis and Mr. Bucky. ❤️

We have a can opener like that I purchased in from Bed Bath and Beyond about 12 yrs ago and it's still going strong.
I do the very same as you Phyllis with the fork along the edge. My mother taught me to do this many, many years ago. I've never had a seal "pop" open yet ☺
Alli Sea Plus, Phyllis is really triple sealing it, fingers, fork, by hand again and lifting crust off pan. I’m confused-how is that bad? 💗

We call those Apple Turnovers and use puff pastry...you can make single servings too. Dust with icing sugar (confectioners sugar). Some raisins added to the filling is nice as well, if you like them. 🐨🌴

@Phyllis: The crack in the back isn't a big deal. The juice that leaked wasn't much & it candied. That's the best homemade kind of pie! Whoever said dipping a fork into flour & crimping the edges wasn't necessary doesn't know a thing about baking a pie. Women have made their homemade pies with that technique since the pie inception into the home. That's how my great-great and great grandmothers made them and on down the line to me today. However people should always try their own technique in the kitchen. After all that's what makes the fare at home oh so gooood.Thank you for showing your way to a shortcut homemade apple pie. Thank you, Ms. Phyllis! I've got to make one of these for my mother. With Dad in a nursing home now she just isn't motivated to cook for one. But with this she could take it on a visit and they could both have a piece on two visits with no waste at home. Edit: Mother always has a good piece of sharp cheddar with her piece of apple pie but Dad likes ice cream.

Ymm...nothing like a warm piece of apple pie with a scoop or two, of vanilla ice cream and even cold, nothing comes close to being as delicious as homemade Apple Pie! We will try this recipe out soon, the bakeries here just don't make pies, there's one bakery that makes apple pie but infrequently, :( , now with this recipe we can have our own yummy Apple Pie! :)

Oh Phyllis, I wanted to say that I made a pie as you instructed but I used some frozen blueberries I had in the freezer from pickings at the Blue Berry Farm last year, I added the sugar, a bit of water, some cinnamon , a bit of lemon juice. It turned out wonderful, the elderly man I gave it to logs the water level for us people who lives on the river & warns us when the river will be rising. I love to bake & cook, but must share the goods with my neighbors, I always cooked for 5-6 ppl and now it's just myself so I share my bounty. Thank you for making an old guy very happy!

These quick recipes are not only good for ppl that work, but also college students. My daughter had a beautiful large kitchen in her dorm rooms and she loved cooking. Loved her crockpot too, lol. She graduated last May but still occasionally helps in the kitchen when not at work.
I make a lot of hand pies. When they come out, I brush them with a light sugar icing. When dry they resemble the Hostess fruit pies.
Hi Ms Phyllis! The OXO can opener is the best I've ever used. I like the no sharp edges & no contents from opening the can spilling over the lid. Great idea for a quick apple pie! Mr. Bucky approved! I would try a raisin filling, brush milk on the top and sprinkle with sugar. So easy with a ready-made crust.
