I don't know of anybody that is so well loved in life and after life. She was one hell of a woman kind can cook and just adorable. I'm 78 year old woman and I just so glad that her videos are still on thank you
I sure do love you Ms. Phyllis & I really do miss you so much. The world is not the same without you & Mr. Bucky. Rest in peace, & God Bless you always. Your son is doing a great job with your channel.
I’m still watching these videos. They never get old and I use some of her recipes and techniques.
She is truly missed.
I can’t wait to try this. We miss your cooking. Your son, Stephen is doing a fantastic job. I know you are so proud of him. RIP sweet lady.
I truly miss Phyllis 💕 I felt like she my friend!.. So I continue to watch my friend. God bless her. God bless you too. She would be so happy that you picked up where she left off! 💌
Phyllis, I just love your teaching skills and one of the most precious statements you have made is that “you can taste it because you are the cook” 🤗
You know how when you go to a movie and people start walking out when the credits start? Glad I kept playing to see you take one more bite. Blueberry Yum Yum, appropriately named.
What you said reminded me of my mother and grandmothers “I can taste it because I’m the cook”. Lol.
What a treat to open UA-cam and see your precious mother. Thanks for keeping this channel alive.
The best part is when you said: I CAN BECAUSE I'M THE COOK!!!! Also the extra bite at the end... still laughing girl!!
I love Phyllis!
@@e.conboy4286 .....I miss Phyllis since she passed away, she was so unique
and fun....RIP my friend and Bucky too. We are now living in terrible
times in 2021, the Lord took you both to heaven because this
world is just horrible now ~
I so miss this wonderful chef/Mom/wife/woman not being here any longer. I'm happy for her she's no longer in pain and is able to be with her beloved Mr. Bucky. I will continue to watch her videos, learn new recipes and wish I had gotten the chance to know her more. God love her, keep her and continue to bless her family who is still here. Love you Miss Phyllis! 💗💗💗
I could watch your cooking videos all day, and many times I go back and watch some of your older ones. I try a great number of them, and this is definitely a must try, it looks so delicious. Thank you for sharing, blessings to you, Mr Bucky, Steeley and Sunny
Right now...I've watched six or so tonight...so far .....😊💜
Love, love, love all the videos! Ms Phyllis reminds me of my relatives! I cherish all the recipes they shared, and I love all the recipes Ms Phyllis shares!
Ms Phyllis, I miss you and your good cooking ideas. I love your very frugal way of getting every last drop of food out of the containers. I never forget your example. Miss your kitchen and greatly loved home too.
Loved and still do!!!!! 🥰💜🌹
Thank you Colonel for keeping this channel going. Momma Phyllis is still here teaching us great cooking skills with her love. 🌸💕🌸💕
Our family for many years makes the Cherry yum yum and Blueberry yum yum. Only difference we make to the Blueberry yum yum 's crust is to add crushed pecans to the crust. Love them both
Phyllis, you are a true blessing to watch. I like to watch your videos right before I go to bed...you’re like a sleeping medication to me. God bless you and Mr. Bucky.🥰
My sister, daughter and I
love watching you all the time. We had an Aunt that looked like you alot and did many things too. You are an amazing wonderful lady and cook! You have many talents! May God bless you and Mr. Bucky.
Dreama, Sherry and Terah. 💗😊
I just wanted to say. You bring back so many good memories of learning how to cook from my late Grandma Bertha! Your voice sound just exactly like hers! She was such a sweet and kind woman just like you!
💙 her tasting at the end... She loved it
You know what I love about your cooking? You’re just like me, you scape every container clean with NO WASTE. Drives me nuts when people leave a bunch of their mixture in the containers! I can’t watch cooking shows on TV because of that.
Wow! I think I would use cool whip. TFS💖💖💖
P.S. What kind of Jello do you eat for you knees. I was eating sugar free as a snack at night and my legs seemed not to hurt as bad. I haven’t had any in a good while and they are killing me. I can’t sleep at night for the aching. If that’s a cure I’m all for it!
We just use regular Jello mixed with cream cheese and some kind of fruit.
Making this for my sister birthday! She is not a cake person, but she Loves no bake cheesecake! Thank you! ❤👏
My aunt made this for every family potluck it was one of our favs and the first dessert to go. She always made it with dream whip. Cool whip just doesn’t taste the same to me. Thank you for sharing this brings up fond memories for me.
Hi Phyllis. this desert is what we made for my children's wedding. it was super good .we made blueberry. and strawberries the strawberry is even better if u make it with fresh strawberries. cut strawberries and add sugar .it makes a syrup them add corn starch and cook till clear cool.and spread on your creamcheesc desert. it is the best.
I'm going to add the strawberries next time I make this, I think they would be the best too.
I know she has passed away now but I'm still watching! I've eaten this my whole life with many variations, one of the most simple, basic & delicious deserts ever. You can use chocolate pudding and pecans or banana pudding. My mom would make it for 4th of July using the blueberries and either strawberries or cherries for red, white & blue. The chocolate/pecan version is my fav! We called it Chocolate Delight.
I Love this lady! I miss her so much but God needed her more. I'm going to make this as soon as I can.
Oh my this looks so delicious 😋 and I'm going to make this for sure 😋
Love your reasoning that you can taste of it because you are the cook. I agree.
I just love to watch you. You must be one of the kindest people on the planet. Thanks for all the time you take making these videos for us. Patti
My mother used to make that with strawberry topping in the summer. Was my absolute favorite. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
IF I HAD THE INGREDIENTS I WOULD BE IN THE KITCHEN RIGHT NOW PUTTING THIS TOGETHER. WOW. THANK YOU.
Phyllis and Amanda thank you so much for this recipe! You know I'm making this!!
I remember this recipe from the late 1960's, when my mother made various flavors of the pie when she entertained. It was delicious, as you said, and now I want to make it! Good job in whetting my appetite!
I just love love watching you cook.
I love how you snuck in two bites of your blueberry no bake cheesecake😉... I'm sure it is delicious☺
I do too, I thought as the cook you can do what ever you want lol
You can do that as the cook and the best part is that you can just smear the filling over the corner and no one would ever know, 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Cream cheese leaves that aftertaste that makes you want more!
Hey Ms. Phyllis!!! I am so happy that you made my recipe and that you loved it I'm sure Mr. Bucky loved it as well!!! I was absolutely beaming with happiness watching you enjoy the blueberry yum yum! ❤😊❤ I'm not sure how I missed this, but I'm behind on watching a bunch of videos, UA-cam's notifications haven't been working very well!!
Much love to you. ❤
Loved watching your Mom , it brought back many memories of all the recipes i'v watched her do when I first started watching you tube
It looks delicious. I love anything with blueberries. I can't wait to try it. Thank you guys.
I always mix fresh in season blueberries in a bowl with the canned pie filling before spooning it on as there seems to be less and less berries in the can.
Yes! That is what we always did & called it mile high pie.
Did you know many "blueberries" in store bought items are not even blueberries? They are dyed cornstarch balls with blueberry flavoring added to the mix. Even hersheys chocolate isn't 100% chocolate anymore but has fake cocoa butter added.
I thought the same, there seemed to be more berries once upon time! Good idea
@@itsjustrenee1320 Good Grief I thought it was my taste buds dying- Fake Food!
@@sjr7822 Yeah you have to read the fine print
That looks absolutely delicious. So simple to make too! Thanks for sharing Phyllis!
You know Phyllis there is one kitchen gadget I can't live without and that is a food processor. I have had mine for over 30 years now. Grating carrots for carrot cake is such a breeze. Making fresh bread crumbs, or crushing honey grahams another example. I have even ground pork meat for my meatballs if I can't find ground pork. I use a ground pork beef and sometimes ground veal ratio for meatballs.
The more buttery the better!!!
Ha! I just made this on Wednesday for the girls 'Back to School' treat for 3pm! I made a 1/2 batch. I didn't cook the graham cracker crust and I added 3T powder sugar to it. I cheated and used the cheaper cool whip 12 oz. My grandma made this for family reunions Every Year! It was her 'signature' and she used the cherry filling and added a baggie of her sour Michigan cherries from the freezer to make it kind of tart. My son asks for this instead of cake for his Bday. We call it 'Blueberry Delight'.
Love this, I make this along with cherry, peach, strawberry versions. Generally on the strawberry I do a simple vanilla cookie base, like Lorna doone cookies. I also add a teaspoon of vanilla to the cream cheese base. And two packages of whipped topping. The first one I whip in with the mixer the second one I fold in. Makes it extra light and dreamy creamy. This is a must on all our holiday buffets.
Love your variation on this one.
Hi Phyllis! 👋🏼 always makes my day to see your smiling face!💗
That is one of my favorite desserts! Try some whipped topping over the top of it. Home made is always best, but yum yum!!! Now I'm gonna have to make some, lol! 😋🥰
Every video feels like a facetime with my grandparents which I wasn't fortunate enough to meet. Your such a treasure!
Ms Phyllis this must be so good. This is the one & only time I have ever seen you take 4 bites of a dessert. I am going to make 2 pies. With blueberry & cherry pie filling..
Love to see you cooking again and this recipe looks deeeeeeeeeelicious. Also easy I love this kind. Thank you Mrs Stokes.
My mom has made this for years. She called it Fluff it is amazing! Love your channel.
I love this dessert one of my favorites my grandmother made that recipe every Thanksgiving and Christmas just for me and my cousin so good and easy to make ..
Looks delicious. Yet everything you make seems to be delicious ❤ Hope you and Mr.Bucky are doing wonderful.
My grandmaw used to make something exactly like this for Thanksgiving every year! I'm definitely gonna try this out and see how it is because I never got the chance to ask her how she did it. I have some of the old family recipes down but not all of them, unfortunately.
I miss you and still love watching your old videos! 🥲😍💔💔🙏
That's the same recipe my family uses for our no-bake cheesecake! We either make our own whipped cream or use Cool Whip. You are right about packages being smaller, and it makes it so hard to use older recipes because they often call for a 'package' of something, and they don't come out right because of the smaller package sizes!
Your voice is like therapy. So enjoy watching you cook.
Oh my goodness! This has to be sooooo delicious! Thank you Mrs.Phyllis and Amanda for this great recipe! I still can't quit laughing from you saying I can because I'm the cook then it was so delicious you ate three bites. I don't blame you, I would have eaten half of it, if not more! Lol.😂
Robin Ellison I wouldn't have even put it in the fridge!! She is precious!
I used to make this 30 years ago. We called it cherry or blueberry delight. We used cool whip instead of dream whip. Refreshing!
I love this stuff! I use to make it all the time. You can use any flavor pie filling you like. I like Cherry, strawberry, or Blueberry best. I use two cans of pie filling. And also when making the crust, I use the Graham cracker crumbs in the box. Saves a step from chopping ❤
Omg Phyllis, that look beyond delicious! My mouth was watering lol. Thank you so much for sharing. Can’t wait to make! Love all your videos 👍🏻❤️
I wasn’t even hungry til you tasted of this. I have made something similar to this years ago and it was delicious. I will be making this. My husband loves blueberries and I love cherries. Win win. I know this is Mr. Bucky’s favorite dessert. God Bless you both. Love you dearly!! ❤️🙏❤️
Miss Phyllis is so chill. I love that about her.
Ha ha ha! I love that you couldn't stop tasting it! That's when you know it's REAL good! 💕😍😋
Being the cook should always come with special privileges😊
I have made this for years, but my crust is made with butter, sugar, flour and finely chopped pecans. I do use 2 cans of blueberry filling also. This is what my husband always wants for his birthday!
I think this is the dessert we used to have at summer picnics when I was a child! Been thinking of it for a long time but didn't have the recipe. Thanks so much!
Ms Phyllis, I do love watching your instructive videos and listening to your comments with your gracious southern accent.
What a joy! When you took that second little bite of the Blueberry Yum Yum, I just lost it.....you are so precious.Tell Mr. Buckley hello.🙏🏻💕
...."and the reason I can do this is because I'm the cook." You're so awesome, Phyllis!
My Great Aunt who's almost 92 (who's name is Phyllis too) makes a blueberry dessert that is similar. It's called blueberry salad and uses most of the same ingredients as you have here but also grape jello and crushed pineapple to the blueberry layer...then tops it off with cool whip and pecans.
Her's is certainly the decadent version.
your channel is such a blessing, it's my new fav! God bless you richly, you're in my prayers Phyllis
Awesome dessert, Ms Phyllis! My crew enjoys any dessert recipe you share; it was all hands on deck with this one! We made two - one blueberry and one cherry. Both were delicious!! I'm sure Mr Bucky gave this a big thumbs up, too! Thank you for another recipe & video, Ms Phyllis! ☺
This is so good! I use to make this for summer cookouts and everyone loved it.
I have made this for years, and like you, love it. I get so many compliments on it, and everyone wants the recipe.i have used cool whip, but now want to try yours using the dream whip. Love all of your recipes.❤️👵🏻
Hi Miss Phyllis, Just wanted you to know that I made some of the peach ice cream over the weekend and it was fabulous. Shared with family member and they loved it. Thanks for all your recipes that you post. Love watching you and Mr. Bucky my husband loves when Mr. Bucky samples what you have made.
Phyllis, I have been making a no-bake cheesecake very similar to this one for more years than I care to count. I make the same crust but the filling is a bit different. Two pkg. of cream cheese softened & beaten til smooth. Add 5 Tblsp. of lemon juice & beat til smooth. Then beat in 1 can of sweetened condensed milk til smooth. Next use a small container of Cool Whip folded in & put into the crust. I refrigerate that portion so it makes putting the blueberry filling on top of the cheesecake mixture much easier. In fact I just made it today for my son's b-day tomorrow. He asks for it every year. By the way, sometimes I use some lemon rind to have a lemon-blueberry flavor. Both are delicious.
Miss Phyllis! Many years ago I had an Aunt Named Lois ! Being that she lived at the very top of California the last city before you’d get to Oregon, and we lived in central California, we didn’t see her and them very often ! She was a lovely lady and she’d make this wonderful dessert out of local blueberries and a cheesecake like with graham cracker crust. I loved it ! And never could get my fill of it as their were 12 to 16 people to share it with ! A fun memory of Family all gone but myself and One cousin, her daughter. She told me she’d make it out of a mix I think it was by Royal ? I don’t know, never find it in our town ! This sounds like it would taste, just like Aunt Lois yummy dessert !! I can just taste it with out even eating it just by the ingredients ! Thank you to You and the sweet lady who sent it in ! Real whipping cream would be yummy However the Cool Whip gives it a different consistency! Must be all the fake stuff and such ! 🤣 Either way I’m making it this week ! Just today I bought 3 pounds of BLUEBERRIES ! Big juicy sweet Blueberry Flavor ! Now I know why ! The Universe or Aunt Lois knowing I was going to see this 4 hours later and now I can make it any time I wish ! I’m going to change the name for My Family now, “Aunt Lois Yum Yum “ ! As always Xoxox Debra in California ❤️
What a treasure she was!I will look for her and Mr. Bucky in heaven. The bible tells us we will be known as we were known. So I will be happy to meet them and say thanks for their video's.
You’re cracking me up, Phyllis! I love how you kept taking bites.
Aw Ms. Phyllis I just LOVE your videos! Can't wait to try this recipe and serve it to my family! You make it look Way Beyond Delicious😋
I didn't know they still made dream whip. Good to have on hand. Thanks & I will be making this!
Looks so good! The cook always gets to taste! I think I need to make one! Thanks for sharing.
We call this no bake cheesecake ... always a staple for my moms birthday :)
Frances Diver Is www
I had to buy the blueberry filling and the Dream Whip but I'm making this today!! Thank you so much for all your videos. I think I've watched almost all of them. You are so soothing with your manner and your meals are so delicious!!
Ms Phyllis! That looks sooo very good! You did a great job with Amanda's recipe and tasting it! You showed it was a great recipe!!😊❤👍👍
Oh thank you for doing this video, Miss Phyllis!! This is one of my daughter's favourite desserts. My mother-in-law used to make it, but like most of her dishes, she jealously guarded the recipe . Now she's gone. I've looked for this online, but didn't know exactly what to call it in my search. I can't wait to fix this for my sweet daughter. She will be so thankful to you!!
My mom made this all the time when I was a kid, but she served it frozen. The recipe she had (same as this) called it frozen blueberry desert.
LOL! Love how you couldn’t have just one bite! Gonna make some for myself. You are an inspiration!!!
My grandmother used to use Dream Whip. If I were to taste it today it would take me right back to her kitchen.
This has been a favorite dish for over 55 years in my family .This was originally cherry yum yum ! Dream whip makes it taste better than cool whip . I have tried this with many different fruit fillings and it is great with all of them .
My recipe for no-bake cheesecake is just almost like this. It's from about 1962 or 1963. The difference was I added the whip cream (16oz) to the cream cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar and whipped all together till it was set up. I used cherry pie filling on the top. It made a fairly full 10x13. It was so good there was never anything left to take home from a pot luck. People would scrape out the dish.
Awesome 😊 seeing a new video of our sweet Phyllis and I have to tell you that blueberry yum yum does look scrumptious !! I do a dessert similar to this Iusuallyusecherry pie filling but I don't do Graham cracker crust ( altho I have thought about using it) I use the broken up small pretzel sticks with butter & sugar for the crust.... it's delious too. So great seeing & hearing you !!! Hoping all is great with you , Mr. Bucky & your sweet furabies....and things are going well with all the work on the inside & outside of house . Sending you lots of love & blessings always !!
🐩🐦🍒🍰 💕
Thank you both for inspiring me to make one this weekend!💕
Had a similar recipe called No Bake Cherry Cheesecake. I used 1 8 oz bowl Cool Whip instead of Dream Whip and a pre made graham cracker crust. Brought to work and there wasn't a crumb left. Yum!
I have this exact recipe from an old girlfriend who grew up in Wisconsin....Delicious!! Her name for it was Blueberry Torte.....and it is a family favorite!
I DID IT! The girls and I made this treat! We can eat it and like it! Thank you for such good instructions!
Got this recipe from my inlaws in 1972 and it was called "blueberry delight".
Always a hit with family and guests.
I bought graham crackers about every other month, the first time I noticed them to be smaller was in April. Smaller amount but higher prices. I will have to get the ingredients before I can make it. It must’ve been very good because you had two bites. I have be watching Mr Buckeyes bible studies and enjoy them immensely and have be Bless by them. I have noticed he has lost a lot of weight. I hope he isn’t ill. Yes it has been a few years ago, so it might of been planned weight loss. I enjoy and is blessed by both of yours videos. I also see you had three poodles at that time. 💜
Mr. Bucky had to be hospitalized with food poisoning (C difficile, toxin b) after eating from the salad bar of a chain pizza restaurant. He lost 40 pounds while in the hospital for 10 days. This happened about
3 years ago, he gained back most of the weight and then decided to go on a low salt diet which caused some weight loss. He is currently at his ideal weight and wants to stay there and not gain any more weight.
Nice to see you Miss Phyllis! Our wild blueberries are in full swing and going by your reaction I must try this.
I love this dessert! I found that I could use the ready made Creamy Cool Whip and it works just as well as the dream whip..
It is so delicious. ❤
Strawberry pie filling is Divine on this pie also.
That looks sooo good... Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Omg’sh you reminded me of myself when I make an instant cheesecake..I have to have some right away too! Lol 😝 Looks delicious! I’ve never thought of using blueberries! I don’t even make the crust anymore, I use the ready made graham cracker crust, 1 pack of cream cheese, 1 cup of granulated sugar, a couple drops of vanilla, and 8 oz of cool whip. I mix it all in the same bowl, pour into pie shell, top with cherry 🍒 pie filling, and chill. It’s so good too! I’ll have to try this recipe, as well..:) 🌷🤗🦋
