I was there in BC. I will tell you this. The white light washout was exactly as you see it here. It would completely white out the band members yet be as soft as it appears on this video. And the sound? I was way in the back in the horse shoe. The entire arena was wired for sound. I had sound coming from behind me in and total quadraphonic imaging. When the show started, with the house lights still up there was a gradual almost unnoticeable sound of nature sounds that increasingly got louder of a span of at least 10 minutes. Also, I swear they were pumping in aroma that slowly hit your nostrils. once the forest sounds, Birds, trickling water reached a cresendo the house lights went down. I was in the back, and I heard clearly every scrape of Dave Gilmore's pick across his Strat and every single note of Guy Pratt's bass. Don't know who will read this, but there has never been a concert experience ever to rival this tour.

I watched The Pulse Tour in Lisbon, at the football stadium of Sporting Clube de Portugal : Alvalade Stadium, and definitely, nobody does a gig like Pink Floyd. The Pulse tour was the best live performance of music history.

Was there June, 25 1994. Myself(14), my dad, his best friend and his son my best friend at the time. Greatest concert I ever attended until October 31, 2024 when my son(19) and I saw David Gilmour live at the Hollywood Bowl. Closest thing to Pink Floyd he will ever get a chance at. I still have the same shirts that my dad and I wore, so I wore my dad's and my son wore the one I did. We replicated the picture of my dad and I as well. In the picture my dad is holding the tickets in our picture I'm holding the picture of my dad and I, a little Ummagumma esque.

One of my personal favorites. Just about growing up and looking back at the time you were younger. Many of Pink Floyd's songs are emotional, especially the way Gilmore plays.

What I remember the most from attending Pink Floyd's 94 tour at Valle Hovin in Oslo, is the amazing show and ... the sound quality. We were at a football stadium. There's no way a concert should sound that good at such a venue, but then again, it did. From before the concert even started, the sound effects they played, were like 3D effects circling around me. And they kept that going throughout the concert, and the quality was superb! I've attended countless concerts in my life, but I've never attended anything soundling like that one, before or after. With the laser show (which sadly had to wait for the sunset - the latter half - to really be appreciated), it was an experience of a lifetime.
    Hugs and love!

I was there on the night they recorded this. The video is brilliant especially in surround sound, but the sound quality in the arena was out of this world. Surround speakers including in the roof. I believe the sound and lights (all synchronised) cost Pink Floyd around $98million (in 1994)for the tour. No other band has ben able to match it since. Nobody listens to Pink Floyd, you experience them and at the shows on this tour you were enveloped in them and became part of the journey. I'm 75 now and still have the shivers of listening to the best band on the planet, even on video. At 78 Gilmour has just ended his latest tour. You mentioned the bass in Sorrow. The bassist Guy Pratt still plays with Gilmour but check him out. He is a legend in his own right.

Love watching your real and open reactions to Pink Floyd. Many people don't understand how much these rock bands from the 60's -70's was rooted in classical music. The William Tell overture was maybe the first metal riff. Richard Wright of Pink Floyd knew a lot of classical keyboard techniques and
played them in several songs. Thank you for your reactions.

I was at this concert the night after this was filmed. Whatever you think of the video the concert was 10 times better. You don't get a lot of the effects in the video such as the heat from the flares, the music hitting you (it was a lot louder than this video makes out), the lights from the mirror ball were incredible in Comfortably Numb, everything in the hall was covered by them as the ball was revolving. One thing I do remember is that it was unlike other concerts I've been to, usually at a rock concert you get people cheering, shouting, screaming, dancing, jumping and so on all the time, this one was different, I looked around the hall many times and people were just sat there, staring, mouths open, amazed at what we were seeing and hearing. It was incredible.

This is one of 14 days in a row sold out and their last. 200,000 watts of power, 128 wireless speakers , 200 ton stage and 53 semis to move. saw 5 times outdoor needed FAA clearance for lasers. So quiet when people were leaving stunned what they just saw.

What really stands out in my memory from the performance of Sorrow I saw at Earl's Court was the power of the subsonics at the end of the song. It's not something that you are likely to be aware of when listening to it on headphones, and living in a small terraced house in London I've never turned the sub-woofer up high enough to see if it is present on the DVD or CD releases.

1994 on the Pink Floyd concert in Hockenheim, Germany, which were at that days a formula one circuit. Think about staying at a heli port and the heli lands 10 Meters beside you, that what it sounds like on that Pink Floyd concert. The bass was so heavy that the earth vibrates under you feets.

Penso che questa canzone da PULSE sia una delle piu belle esibizioni live non solo dei Pink Floyd ma di tutta la musica in generale.
    2 chitarristi ( Gilmour e Renwick)
    2 percussionisti ( Mason e Wallis)
    2 tastieristi ( Wright e Carin)
    1 bassista ( Guy Pratt)
3 bravissime coriste ( Durga Mc Broom, Sam Brown e Claudia Fontaine)

Excerpt from an article in "Lighting Dimensions" magazine, September 1994 edition entitled: Set The Stage For Pink Floyd's 1994 World Tour.
Catherine McHugh interviews Marc Brickman (show director), Robbie Williams (production director), and Mark Fisher (set designer).
"With or without the benefit of mind-altering substances, even the most jaded modern concertgoer can expect Pink Floyd to put on a show that aims to rattle the senses".
Having seen this show two evenings in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that for them, it was mission accomplished.

    Great reaction Brother!
Virtually every Pink Floyd song is an Experience! No band like them.
There are some great videos from this 1994 Pulse Concert, excellent quality, re-mastered and re-edited versions. The whole 2 &1/2 hour long concert is available online, and there are some really outstanding performances, songs like, "High Hopes", "Learning To Fly" and "Money" just to name a few.
Love to see you react to some of those songs!
They also perform the WHOLE, "The Dark Side Of The Moon" album from beginning to end,... the last time they performed the whole epic album live was in the 1970s. And I believe this 1994 performance of t was the last time.
This Pulse Concert at Earls Court in London was one of the final shows of Pink Floyds 1994 "The Division Bell World Tour.

Jone, I was fortunate enough to have seen them on this last tour at Giants Stadium in NJ. You wanted a description of the concert, I can sum it up in 3 words, intense, beautiful and unforgettable, and you're seeing why. David Gilmour is not a shredder but the emotion he extracts from the guitar is off the charts and after all, isn't emotion from a musical instrument what we are all looking for and appreciate? Keep up the great work

This was from the Division Bell Tour in 1994.
I saw them on that tour on April 14 in San Diego in Jack Murphy Stadium.
The crowd was 51,610 people. The average ticket price for the show was $30.
I basically had the worse seats in the house, 4 rows from the last row - furthest from the stage.
But still, it was the best concert I ever saw.
The big takeaways were the sound of Gilmour’s guitar and the light show.
I still can’t believe how good the band sounded from those terrible seats.
Thank you for the reaction. Great stuff.
Consider watching “Shine on You Crazy Diamond” live from the same (Pulse DVD) concert.

twice in two days. Took my mom and her friend to the first night concert. Was so good I went the next day with a lady from work. Bought tickets from a scalper. (That's what we called the guys selling tickets in the parking lot). Definitely a spiritual kind of experience. Going to see Britt Floyd next week with my 30 year old son and his wife. All we have for live performances is tribute bands. Britt Floyd hopefully will satisfy. Passing the experience on to our youth. Good review you did. Thanks.

I saw the tour at Sun Devi Stadium, with 70,000 of my closest friends. As another said, it was LOUD. One thing you really can’t get from the videos is just how very tightly the lights were synced to the music throughout the show. I finally had to decide to ignore them and pay attention to the music. Also, that stage was MASSIVE. It thoroughly dominated one end of an American Football stadium. Best show I’ve EVER seen, and I’ve seen my share of shows.

In this song, you can really get the understanding of just how enormous that stage was.
I agree with you about the drumming and editing of the video that shows exactly how good Nick Mason played them.
The deep bass and guitar notes will really work and test your speakers.
Side note: Your headphone wire has a bit of a loose connection and is putting a bit of an arcing series of snapping noises through your audio. It could help to clean the plugs with DeOx or something similar. 😉
