I drove mine for the first time the other day and I have to say that I am happy with my purchase for sure. I also built the C44 kit and am also happy with that. They have been releasing some great bang for the buck kits lately. WPL on the rise I think.

You should have tried drifting it mate. That is what it is and they are a beast to drift. That is also why they have the two steering and throttle settings. The sky is the limit to what you can do with these D12 Suzuki Trucks. I have two and one I am getting a set of drift tyers and have put drift skirts around it. The other I am turning into an all-wheel drive. It rained today so I got them out on the wet cement and had a blast.
Damn I really should have. I only ever used the stock tires and wheels for this episode, having made my own wheels for some 1.0" RC4WD tires. Now they have way too much grip for that to work.
You don't want to put it down because it's so realistic and we all love these practical little vehicles.

This reminds me of a RC tank from how you said you just like driving it. with tanks they look so realistic they just are fun to drive and look at moving around when driving. Probably why you like this little truck.
That is a great correlation! I have a tank too and it is just as much fun.
for fun... drop in a fast 280 motor replacing the stock 260, then put shrink wrap on the rear tires, shrink, trim, etc... yes these DO drift pretty good without need of a gyro.
if you want a rear diff, use a JJRC axle, it'll fit but is a couple mm wider.

It's probably going into reverse because it sees you hit neutral before you hit reverse when you do it slowly. When you do it quickly it goes straight to reverse so it realizes you're trying to hit the brakes. I would imagine if you very quickly go to just a little bit of reverse the brakes will apply.
It thought the same but I did this at least 50 times. Either way, its not a deal breaker. It is still well done.

The body fits a B24 chassis well with minor modifications. Mine had a tilting cab and batteries in the fuel tanks 🤓

Well..mine arrived to the UK in 6 days from bang good.Incredible,I expected at least 2 weeks.Its good fun.Got suzuki badges on it,and a Fred from scooby doo in the drivers seat.Theres not a lot paint on it,so I primed it red and top coated a tamiya white.Bit of rubbing to bring the rust look through.Itd going to tip over a lot,do may as well make it look used.

Great vid once again. I er...just bought one. I dunno, from what I've seen online WPL started out with a questionable reputation/and product line but seem to be listening and turning it around. I think they bear keeping an eye on. Could end up as quite a decent company and product line the way they are going.
Yes things really have changed for the better at WPL. They went from...eh...to WOW in a very short time.

All WPLs now are fully proportional and D12 comes with 260 motor. Shaft is first thing to change a
Other than that those little fellas are great for drift. Also front suspension is fully adjustable. Check out wpl official Facebook group and D12 official group on FB. We are there ...great video again. Thanks for sharing. 4pin connector is for lights. Officially is not used yet but unofficially 2 outer pins give you full power headlights and 2 inner pins are dim light.

I wanted one a few months ago when I first saw announcements of it, as I really love kei trucks (and vans, hopefully wpl makes a van version in the future). At the time it wasn’t available yet and I couldn’t really justify spending the money, so I thought I’d wait for some reviews to appear on UA-cam. Pretty much every review I watched was so enthusiastic about it, I pulled the trigger yesterday and bought one myself :D The set is pretty cheap for what you get and the upgrades don’t look too expensive either, hopefully you can make a video on the car in the future about which upgrades are recommended or maybe even crucial.

Thank you for your video...now i can decide if i should get one. Pity there is no differential that is the only flaw.
It not as bad as you would think. I too was upset at first about that but the lack of diff prevents it from getting stuck a lot of the time.

This truck is set up more for drifting,just add electrical tape on the rear wheels and have at it. I absolutely love my one,you can even squeeze in 700mAh or 900mAh 2s lipos into that compartment,that's as large as you can go unless you mod the compartment.

dude the spear tyre actually turns as the open close lock feature ..........lol i love how u just force it :-)))))))))
Mine doesn't turn. The lock feature is molded in place on the back of the flap. Maybe yours is an older/never version?
Indoors that lower throttle rate is the difference between always crashing and being able to drive it.

i am actually looking to buy a couple of these as well , it would be fun to do a weathered finish on it with maybe some small decals such as bumper stickers or even a delivery service logo on the doors or security outfit logo with small spray painted stencil numbers in the corner of the bed to mark the unit number , a rotating beacon light on the roof , if you can figure out some better rims and tires be sure to let me know , you could always just 3d print some ninja flex tires on better rims , i do love the stock scale appearance of the steel rims , very nice rig , as you can tell i already have a ton of ideas so greatly looking forward to playing with them ,
I've seen on thingiverse some folks make hexes to use tamiya M-chassis sized rims which might be pretty cool there is also a body kit on thingiverse to make it looke more street racerish.
Really tempted to grab one of these though I kinda wish someone made a 1/10 suzuki mighty boy...
Weathering would be great for sure. I was thinking about printed tires but may go for the 1/18 RC4wd tires.

I know, i am amazed how popular they are.
Analyzing the PCB closely, I saw that the unknown port you saw in it has "LED" written right at it's side. Considering it's a four terminal port, I think that maybe it's a connection for other LED's in the car, like the tail lights!! (right out of the box, that would be nice!!!).
Mine haven't arrived yet, so it would be really interesting if you could measure it's voltage and determine if we can really connect more LED's in there. Thanks!!
For sure! I was able to pull power from 2 leads but I could not get signal from the others. I have asked WPL but it seems it may be for a light kit that is not out yet.

Do you have any plans for front end upgrades? Mine's pretty sweet but the socket arrangement they use to hold the arms to the hubs is pretty pants, wears out in half a heartbeat, and then the lower arms just drop off if you grimace at it.
Good question. I am looking into it as I have a few applications for the chassis.

@@AMPROEngineering looked into it and it looks like they’re 5mm but I found 5 to 7mm adapters so I’ll be able to use my 1.0 or 1.2 wheels. Thanks! Is the gearing adjustable in it or is it set so you can’t move the motor?

Love the video! Great info on the WPL. You seem so knowledgeable about RCs and my somehow my WPL D12 lost its range, it can only go 5-8 ft until is disconnects. Would you know what would cause the issue? It happened after i remove the top body shell like you and put it all back together.
Thank you, yes I have been in this hobby a while, ahaha! I think your antenna is damaged. It may have been partially or fully pulled out of the PCB. This would make the range a few feet.

11:30 Some weight in the back will reduce the bounce and improve the steering response, per another video that I watched on UA-cam
Sadly there really isnt much room for weight in the rear. The rear leaves are way too soft and it seems that it will easily bottom out.

The plug on the front is labelled in Chinese or Japanese dont shoot me for not knowing which but a translator says it's for lights maybe brakes indicators but I have not tried them I was just curious as u were And I removed my esc combo and could not remember which plug was which. And translated the makings on the board
Yeah I should have tried that but even probing the board didnt show much one the other circuits.

What you never tried is drifting it.
With these tires and the bricks/concrete at my house, its impossible to drift it. Its going to need a very smooth surface and ideally, plastic tires.
