- This is the New D Series from WPL. Does D stand for Drift? I think it might! This is the first offering, the D12 Kei Truck. I am expecting more to come, as this is the 'China' Version. What will the D12 'International' Version look like!.... I may have seen a picture.... STAY TUNED!

Living in Japan I see these little trucks everyday. These are really cool and I'm thinking do I really need another rc truck? Maybe I'll think for a few weeks. I love my WPL B1 with mods. Great trail runner.

The body details are very good. I love the idea of drifting one of these with the back loaded up with loads of scale boxes and pieces. Nice touch with the leaf springs too, may make the drifting a little tricky. Can wait to see the drift video.
I've opted for the off-white version,I'll be doing an unboxing too when it arrives. I'll be changing the battery connection to a standard JST,as most of my other batteries use these connections.
That little guy is actually pretty cool, I believe your right it definitely has "drifting" written all over it!!

I use to drive one of these back in the 80's when I was delivering gas bottles for mobile fires and they were the best little truck ever built back then. They were indeed suzuki's and I think the model was an "ST80K or something like that. My one had an 850cc engine and would easy carry 3/4 of a ton. It would also do the same speed fully loaded as it did when empty. Think I might get one just for the sake of nostalgia. and let my Grandson play with it :-) great review thanks for posting.

I ordered one of these yesterday (with the metal axle upgrade and some gyro thing from Ebay, dunno if it'll even work! lol), so excited! I know next to nothing about RC or RC modifying though, so your video was very handy in helping to make the decision to take the leap. I usually stick to 1/24 scale static model cars, but I'm looking forward to a new set of challenges! I'm hoping to learn a little about RC drifting with it, and how to modify some bits to get that sort of setup happening.
The part I rekon I'm most looking forward to is 3D designing and printing up some wheels and tyres for it, maybe scratchbuild a little bodykit or something. Honestly for the price I'm stocked to be able to get a nice little 'blank canvas' to try out RC stuff and modifying/engineering some parts.
So, again, your video was super helpful! Great stuff! :) I can see myself really enjoying the process!

The tight turning circle should make them more suitable for indoor use that the previous trucks. That is how I imagine myself using one of these.

Hopefully they bring out a Suzuki Jimny next! Really like the look of the Xiaomi app controlled one, but would much prefer a proper tx/rx setup.
This thing really reminds me of the JJRC Q65, look at the underside its very similar. Smallish 1:10th scale truck with a hard body and highly detailed. Comes with LEDs. Even down to how it comes in the box with the two plastic trays. Something tells me these are from the same factory if not the same production line.
No, these are WPL, not from the same production line as the JJRC.

The white one looks just like the Honda Acty my dad had back in the 80s. The WPL electrics are more sophisticated though. The only mod con I remember it having was a flap you could kick open to let air in the cab.

I've been following them on Facebook. Watching the full size build too. I know it's not a Subaru. But I owned a 70's 360 van. The one vehicle I should have never sold. And yes I would drift the hell out of it.

Can't wait for the run video. Been excited about this one for a while now! A few trucks have come in to my possession because of your channel. My favourite is my b36. Iv also got a Mn99 after watching your video on it. Great truck! Desperately need some sort of drag brake tho! I also got the wl toys 959b after seeing it on your channel. Can I ask you a question? I'm going to anyway 😂 iv seen a few posts recently on fa e book about a seasaw axle for wpl 4x4s and 6x6s (RBR/C) . I wondered if you had and info on them? Can't seem to find any reviews on UA-cam but would love to know if they are any good. I do short scale videos with my b36 (which is completely modified! Only original bits are the chassis frame and the body. Iv changed every thing else including radio gear and even the interior of the truck!) but I really only do down hill videos as I can't cope with the centre axle hop/bounce. Was hoping this seasaw axle would stop that?

@@TomleyRC I think I will invest in a set. If its no good I might just do a 6x6 mod on my Mn99. 🤔 My b36 has had pretty much everything else thrown at it, so I might as well 🤷♂️
Looks cool I like the cream coloured one much more! And would love to see that little monster drifting. Drop the battery in the front and get that rear out for fun!

Pre sales of this open at 2am tomorrow morning (friday 4th of September 2020) the price is £22.49 plus carriage. I am getting 2, 1i intend to order a Hoonigan 1:10th scale sticker pack and turn into the hoonigan drift truck, the other i am looking at body swapping....

I got a wpl b36 and when it came the motor was hanging out from the mount, but it was all Sauderd and the little gear on the end was still intact, do you think I just need to pop back into place?
Yes, common for them to fall out in transit. Should slide back in no problem

Love this little thing! I'd use it with a trailer made from a B chassis/bed I think and have it as a parts hauler.
As mentioned a few times though...body swaps...this looks like the body would fit a B16/24 Chassis fine with some small brackets? Can't see it being too much work to put this body on a C and a C body on this chassis? Front would need some fixings made but doesn't look too difficult?

Top stuff pal I've recently upgraded my wpl c14 after watching your video but I ended up using an esc from an ftx kanyon 😁😁 running on 2s the thing shifts haha these trucks look fantastic I'll definitely consider owning one in the future unless I win the silver one of course I reckon it would look sweet "drifting" around my living room great content as standard pal 😊😊👍👍
