I know it just came out in theaters, but you really need to watch "The Wild Robot" when you get a chance. It is amazing and heartwarming and just visually stunning.
I definitely liked the first wrek it wralph more, wish they could've kept the world more contained in the arcade instead of putting it into the internet.
One of the early concepts for a sequel was to have the Core Four (Ralph, Vanellope, Felix, and Calhoun) travel to other arcades via the internet and meet different versions of themselves. That would've been great since the internet wouldn't have been a destination itself, and all the main characters would've been involved.
Long story short, Rich Moore (main director of both movies) left Disney soon after Ralph Breaks the Internet was released because the crew didn't have nearly as much creative freedom as they did with Wreck-It Ralph (and I don't blame him since it shows; RBTI was micromanaged into being a Disney ad with internet jokes and Felix and Calhoun got stuck with a babysitting plot that was 99% cut late in development, leaving them with less screen time than the cameos).

Also a note since I think the trailers and other ads for this movie messed with perceptions of it - a lot of people miss the point that Ralph doesn't hate his _job_ at the beginning of the movie, he just hates the way he's _treated_ by the Nicelanders. The movie isn't saying that you have to accept your lot in life, it's about appreciating people for who they are and what they contribute (like how Ralph is just as important to the game as Felix), which you acknowledged! Just putting it out there, all good
