Please react to a movie called How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies. It's a Thai movie, it centered around a young male who, after received news that his grandma got diagnosed with cancer, decided to take care of his grandma while he himself trying to secure his inheritance from his grandma. This movie is a seriously tear-jerker movie, full of family-themed lessons and, I can dare to say, this movie is a lot better than any family movies that you've ever seen or reacted before.
Using Dave's logic movies are pointless idk y ppl have feelings when watching a movie because it's fake we shouldn't care whether or not the characters have a happy ending.
Can Oak at least get a cup of coffee when watching movies? I've watched plenty of reactions where he's doing his best to keep his eyes open. It's a little distracting and also worrying. I hope he's getting enough sleep although I think he has a baby or toddler so I can understand why he's probably not getting enough sleep. So I think coffee would be helpful!
Fun fact: In the movie Frozen, there is a nobleman called the Duke of Weselton, but people accidentally say "Weaseltown." Here in Zootopia, the weasel thief is named Duke Weaselton but Judy accidentally calls him "Weselton." Both characters are voiced by Alan Tudyk
That's kinda off topic, but I love Alan Tudyk sm. I think I first heard him in Wreck-It Ralph (my favourite Disney movie) when I was a kid, he absolutely KILLED IT as Turbo/King Candy/King Cybug, since then, he has been one of my favorite voice actors ever
They should’ve made hippos high up on the governmental or criminal ring. They’re herbivores but ain’t nobody gonna fight a hippo. They’re all powerful!!!
Always love how the real bad guy was a play on the “Wolf in sheep's clothing” saying. This is a smart movie in the way it deals with stereotyping and racism in an easy to digest manner for kids, or grown ups.
And the little joke when the police officers are getting their jobs at the start, a wolf officer is told to go undercover and he puts on a sheep outfit.
My favorite part of the movie was when Nick reveals that he noticed Judy's Fox Repellant the first time they met. It really recontextualizes all their previous interactions when you know that. His treatment of her actually feels so much more justified on a second watch. He isn't just being mean to the Bunny cop because she was slightly patronizing. He had a compelling reason to dislike her. And that also makes it so much more meaningful that they warmed up to each other.
Also love that Doug (the ram who was drugging people) was actually present when Judy first saw Nick at 9:38. He almost hit Nick with a car and then made a racist comment. But Judy still fixated on Nick who hadn't done anything wrong simply for being a fox. If she'd been more focused on Doug, who was clearly the actual jerk in that situation, then she might've noticed some clue about what was happening. It's a really subtle and easy to miss moment that illustrates the dangers of profiling.
@@ap7635 Judy had Fox Repellant because she was attacked by a fox when she was a kid. She wasn't biased without cause. Maybe Nick should have thought of that, too.
@@MegaMilenche Judy was never afraid of Gideon. Even in that situation where she got scratched she still came out on top. And she didn't seem remotely discouraged about her dream either. Maybe Gideon gave her a negative impression of foxes in general, but there was no fear or trauma there. Judy also didn't buy the fox repellent herself. She got the it from her dad who started the movie pretty racist against foxes. She originally thought it was silly and only took it to placate him, but then she made the conscious decision to bring it with her to her job. Which she clearly realizes in hindsight was pretty messed up. She's not an evil character, but that doesn't mean she's immune to prejudice, or that she shouldn't be called on her bs. Nick had every right to be offended by her actions, and Judy herself never once makes any excuses for them. That's what makes her a good person. She sees her flaws and tries to change for the better instead of blaming someone else. Also I don't think being "biased with a cause" matters unless the "cause" is far more extreme. I think plenty of bigots and racists could probably cite at least one example of a bad experience with a minority in their childhood. That doesn't justify their beliefs or actions at all. Especially if they're a public authority figure like a cop. Can you imagine a real cop carrying around Anti- Black People Spray while on duty. And then when someone calls them on it, their excuse is that a Black kid pushed them once when they were little.
In Chief Bogo's defense: Judy is the rookie, it's her first day on the force and detective work isn't what they usually give rookies right off of the bat. Parking duty seems more logical. She also defied a direct order, promised things she couldn't know whether or not she could deliver and the only reason she managed to squeak by there was because Bogo got intimidated by someone who was for all intents and purposes his boss. The 48 hour thing is a bit extreme but movie's got to movie. He was never against Judy, he was dealing with a cop that didn't listen to him and there IS the chain of command to follow. Also didn't you mean Breaking Ba-a-a-a-ad?
I made the same point :> Especially the she's a new recruit, maybe should could have been given more with a partner, but still she needs to learn the lay of the land.
@@wolfwing1 Its how I saw it she has no contacts, isn't in the system, doesn't know the area. Parking duty is a safe out of the way place for her to get to know the city while they complete processing and getting her entered into the system. If in a few weeks/months she's still on parking duty then she can raise an issue with Bogo and if he doesn't partner her up with someone to get experience there she can escalate it.
AND considering she was a top graduate from a brand-new program created/endorsed by the mayor (was he also campaigning for re-election?), Chief Bogo could perhaps also be viewing his new rookie as the product of a political stunt. Also, Chief Bogo clearly didn't have time (narratively) to actually _explain_ why she was given "parking duty" as an assignment. Neither did Judy strictly ask for an explanation herself. There are times and places to give a "here's why", or (inversely) a "that's an order, follow it", but it does feel like Bogo _might_ have been a bit much on the wrong side of that line.

Rewatching this several times to realize Otterton was yelling night howler because hes a florist and knew the effects of the flower that he got hit with. Also, theres a sticky note on Bellweathers phone for Dougs contact. Lots of small details here and there
Yeah, that’s a smart detail. After I watched it for the first time, my criticism was: ‘It’s pretty convenient for Otterton to say ‘night howlers’ when he shouldn’t have known of it, because it was common knowledge only among farmers.’ Turns out I was stupid! 😅 The movie did address it! Shame on me for not paying closer attention.
One thing that took me several rewatches to notice was that Doug was actually present when Judy first saw Nick at 9:38. He almost hit Nick with a car and then made a racist comment. If she'd been more focused on Doug, who was clearly the actual jerk in that situation, then she might've noticed some clue about what was happening. I like this movie for kids because it teaches about the detrimental effects of bullying, stereotypes, and discrimination. Like Judy is bullied and doubted for being a rabbit and Nick was bullied and doubted for being a fox.
It reminded me of "The Land Before Time" where the dinosaurs insisted their kids stick to their own. Long Necks, 3 Horns, Spike Tails... They're supposed to keep away from each other, but the kids all got together anyway and formed a friendship.
I live in Japan and my children are half Japanese half Caucasian and I took my older soon to see this in theaters when this came out and we left the theater having some really deep discussions about race prompt by him. Even at age 7, he recognized some micro aggressions and stereotypes depicted in the film and how he was experiencing similar things as a child who isn’t fully Japanese living in Japanese society. Really an incredible film for breaking down some incredibly complex social commentary for kids!
Right? Everytime i saw them react to any animated movie released before, after and around the Zootopia, i was like' Dude, where is my Zootopia reaction?' 😅
I remember seeing this movie in theaters with my best friend when it came out. As soon as the DMV scene started, the entire audience was just dying. And it accomplished the tricky task of doing slow comedy well.
What’s also funny about the timber wolves scene is that people would play it with their dogs in the room and the dogs would start howling along with the wolves. There’s loads of videos on UA-cam of it.
Some fun facts, this movie was going to be MUCH *darker* originally where all predators wore shock collars to 'suppress' their carnivore instincts which typically happened when they got excited. As a result all predators were in a state of perpetual fear and depression because they couldn't even be happy. Also Shrews can eat several times their own body weight and are insatiable as a result. With winter coming I hope you guys will be watching Klaus cause it's really one of the best Christmas movies of al time.
@@Netsaver I watch it every single Christmas now and I’m still upset it didn’t win best animated film. I’ve been suggesting it for years now, hopefully this year will be it.
I don't think I've ever seen you guys laugh so much during a reaction. You truly seemed to enjoy this one, which made it joyful to watch. Great reaction!
Truly like the underlying social commentary of this movie. Especially because it goes two-fold. There is racism against Judy, being a rabbit in the big city and all the other strong animals not taking her seriously, but also from her against foxes and overall the easily kindled fear of "predators" that every prey-animal still has. And the easy explanation that it's "something in their genes" that makes those animals attack, when it's an outside influence (the Night Howlers) that makes them act savage. When I first watched it, I was actually surprised how well they managed to get the point across without it being preachy and eye-rollingly on-the-nose.
Great movie! I was not prepared for the depth the first time I watched. It always makes me think of my late father (who saw it before I did), he absolutely loved the DMV scene, LOL.
Nick's buddy Fennec giggling away will always be my favourite part. "She hustled you... She hustled you good!" Oh, and Alan Tudyk as Duke Weasleton, when in Frozen then mocked his character Duke Wesselton by mispronounced it as weasel-town.
fun fact...Doug is the ram who was driving the truck that nearly hit Nick when Judy & Nick first met and Doug was also the ram reporter who asked the question about how only predators are going savage
Fun fact: the male newscaster (33:15 and other parts) is a various different animals in different regions of the world. He's a panda in China for example.
@@TheCrayonMaster the newscaster was a national news anchor named Peter Mansbridge. The news anchor character in Zootopia is named... Peter Moosebridge :D
I LOVE the regional differences they did for this. Here in Canada, one of the reporters was voiced by a famous news anchor named Peter Mansbridge... in the movie he was Peter Moosebridge.
Fun Fact about the characters seen at 14:08 - The pig guy is voiced by Josh Dallas, who is married to Ginnifer Goodwin (who plays Judy Hopps). Both met on the set of Once Upon a Time as Snow White and her prince and have been together since 2014.
I love this movie because its so rare to tackle racism and prejudice and done in such a great way. Some of my all time favorite characters and 100% a great gem of disney.
I used to babysit a kid who was obsessed with this movie. She loved the idea that Zootopia exists in the same world as Disney's Robin Hood film from the 1970s, the one where Robin Hood & Maid Marian are foxes & there's a lil bunny family in Nottingham and the one bunny kid idolizes him. She gave me a whole run-down on how Robin Hood & Marian were Nick's ancestors, right after the animals started to be more "like people" were her words. & then bunny kid was Judy's ancestor lol.
I really like that Judy is a trailblazer, a minority, and sees herself as very open and tolerant. But she has biases of her own that cause major issues she has to work through. It all goes back to her ending speech that real life is messy no matter who you are and we all make mistakes. The best we can do is to keep trying. We should try to be better people tomorrow than we were yesterday. And some days we’ll slide backwards, but the point is we keep trying.
Ironically, given how they showed how much bunnies reproduce, they would likely be a "majority" instead of "minority" in the overall population numbers. :P But I get what you mean.
@@HeatRaver Well she is a kinda a "minority" as a "weak/small" animal in a typically "large/strong" animal job but she is neither a minority as a "prey" animal in the police (her boss is one as an easy example, though buffalo are big they still get hunted and eaten) nor in Zootopia itself (which Bellweather specifically calls out as prey making up 90% of the population). I agree with your point in general though.
@@Murkglow Anybody who hunts a Cape Buffalo (the African animal Idris Elba is voicing as Chief Bogo) needs to have his life insurance paid up before he starts. Those are some of the most dangerous, viscious animals for their size in the world. They charge you with their 1,000 lb. weight, gore you and stomp you to death if you get too close. Then they'll do it again for good measure.
24:39 The Tujunga joke is the reason this movie will forever be a favorite of mine. I unintentionally did the EXACT same thing to my mom about a year or so before the movie came out so when the family saw it in theaters, her and I were the only ones dying laughing at that joke because it was beyond relatable
I rewatched your reactions for that whole sloth scene so many times in the full reaction, as it had me in such laughter & endless smiles 😂 best scene & my favourite part of your reactions 😊❤ & Quinn's right Otters are cute! & wasn't expecting 'Breaking Bad reference' there lol & nice message throughout the movie not to judge a book by its cover. Awesome time with you as always thanks best Badd Medicine! 😁💚❤💙
😂 funny how “the naturalist club” guy, forgot his name, he “knows it all about otterton” even the license plate number. But he gives the credit to “NANGI” the elephant for ALL THE INFORMATION. Shows his humility. 😢
I am happy with the scores. Even with Quinn and Diamond Dave not being 5 I can tell they both appreciated the best parts of this movie. The animation is top notch for me, especially that entering Zootopia first time scene. The bullying and racism/sexism hits home for me so I felt deeply about this film. All the details about the different ecosystems, the accommodating for sizes and species stuff, everything mixing seemingly fluidly feels so special. Like real mixing of cultures. By the way, you guys talked about heavy stuff, but there was a storyboard scene where they were planning to make Zootopia a much DARKER film. Involving shock collars. It is a powerful video, but I get why it was toned down for kids.
I love this movie, no matter if you're a kid or an adult, there are moments for you to laugh at and to feel invested in. A movie for everyone, with a lot of nice little references and easter eggs. Loved rewatching it with you, laughed quite a bit.
I saw this in theaters and I was so blown away with how amazing this movie was. Wasn’t expecting much and was shocked by the depth of the story and world building that made it so great.
I will say that the original plot and story of this movie was supposed to be wayyyy darker than what it is now. You can find the original drawings and voice acting and even some animated versions of the original plot on youtube. I’ll say briefly that the original consisted of all predators having to wear shock collars that would shock them if they got too excited, and could only get them removed at the doctors. It has a lot more than that but yea, it was going to be a lot darker than what we have.
I laughed so much during this and I didn't think I would!! As a mom I could definitely understand the reaction to the play 🤣.. Oak I loved what you said about Judy standing back up. That's truly what matters! I loved all the individual reactions.
wait... I I just noticed it now. The reporter who askes the question "Is it true that it's only predators that are going savage?" is actually a sheep. I assume it's the assistant mayor who planted the sheep there to bring up that point and the the issue.
Fun fact Mr. Big is something known as an Artic Shew. It makes his name have a lot of sense as in nature these guys have to eat a LOT even resorting to eating one another to make the survive. They're primarily insectivores but will do whatever they need to almost eat their body weight everyday. Some even being observed climbing around 30cm up grass, jumping from one stem to another to catch a full grown Melanoplus ferumrubrum grasshoppers. Keeping in mind these shrews are around 100 - 125mm (10 - 12.5cm) total length, the tail being around 36 - 45mm (3.6 - 4.5cm). So, like us trying to climb a slippery rope attached at the base but not the top, that is upwards of 3 times our height.
This is one of my favorite Disney movies! The amount of Easter eggs made this so fun to watch. I loved the way they handled the topic of diversity through animals. I’m looking forward to a Zootopia 2!
I love how much you guys enjoyed the comedy in this one. Most people either miss the jokes or catch them but don't outright laugh the way you guys do, so it's a pleasant surprise.
You guys should look up the video of the lady playing the wolf howl clip for her German Shepherd. 😂 “German shepherd howling with wolves from Zootopia”
So happy that you guys saw this movie, I had a feeling when I saw the thumbnail that you would like it. It's probably one of my favorites of the more recent Disney movies, tho I can't say that I watch it that often, it sadly gets forgotten a bit. I love the world that they have built and the society, especially Zootopia itself. The attention to details is incredible, both in reference to all the various animals, and to our own modern society like the movie and TV show references. I haven't seen either The Godfather or Breaking Bad, but I still got those references and it's a lot of fun. I'm sure it's possible to find new details on every rewatch. Also, the music in this movie slaps. I agree that the movie probably is partly meant for adults and possibly teenagers/young adults, regarding references and the themes alike. Not to say that kids can't watch it, I'm sure they'd have a lot of fun. I think it's probably very good for kids and adults to watch together and a great way to start conversations about society and the problems we have, as I'm sure a lot of kids will pick up on it. The twist at the end is so cool, and as you say, also says a lot about leadership and the like. I could be wrong, but I think this was one of the first of the 'the presumed villain isn't the villain/villain in disguise' trend that Disney and Pixar have had over the last decade or so. It's still a cool twist, and it makes rewatching very fun 'cause you pick up on hints. In case you guys missed it (or it just got cut out), the credits have a lot of fun clips of the characters dancing. :)
Disney crushed it with this film. The insane amount of detail in everything in the city is ridiculous. The casting. Ani.ation. dialogue and writing. The issues it deals with. They absolutely killed it. Nick and the scout troop is a really dark moment when you shift it to humans.
Such a great movie! Some of the original ideas were going to be much darker like with all the predators having to wear shock collars that kept them from getting emotional. The testing scene showed a polar bear cub at his birthday being gifted his shock collar by his father that shocked the cub when he got excited after it was put on. Great news: There is a confirmed sequel that is set to come out late next year. (I can't remember if it was September or November).
I've always loved the joke that someone at Disney one day threw out "What if we do a buddy cop movie?" amd his office mate responded "Did you just say bunny cop movie?"
I just realized... Judy got 48 hours and she recruited a criminal to help her solve the case.. where has we seen that before? Thats right, "48 hours" with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. And Wilde was definitely a Eddie Murphy style character
The Weasel, Duke Weaselton, was voiced by Alan Tudyk who voiced the Duke of Weselton in "Frozen." The movies he was selling were animal spoofs of Disney movies that Alan Tudyk did voices for: "Moana" he was the chicken, "Big Hero 6" he was Alistair Krei, "Wreck-It Ralph" he was King Candy.
My favorite part of watching people react to this movie is to see their reaction to the DMV scene. They either are dying laughed, or having traumatic flashbacks, no in-between 😂
“Zootopia” is a refreshing take on tackling complex themes for children without oversimplifying the message. From its title to the use of anthropomorphic animals, the film becomes relatable to all, regardless of the audience’s race or background.
This is one of those movies that might not become a classic but still is extremely solid and rewatchable My only big issue is that there hasn't been more of this yet! There is so much you can do with this setting. And Judy and Nick are adorable.
My expectations were spot on with this one. I was hoping for boisterous laughing from Answer throughout; especially on the sloth scene. Insightful analysis on the hidden serious topic from Oak (but he held back a lot - understandable). And the constant commentary from Quinn throughout the whole movie connecting all the Easter eggs. Dave being included was a BONUS! You guys did not disappoint. Loved this reaction. I know I'll be watching this on repeat in the future.
I saw this movie for the first time the other day as it was just randomly on TV. I have to say I've not laughed that hard at an animated movie in a long time, it's absolutely fantastic
What an interesting film that hits on a layers. Very entertaining. Shoutout to all involved with this film. Are you looking forward to a 2nd film?

If she'd been more focused on Doug, who was clearly the actual jerk in that situation, then she might've noticed some clue about what was happening. It's a really subtle and easy to miss moment that illustrates the dangers of profiling.
YOOO wait!! @ap7635
All these comments. Okay, mind blown.
love this movie
I like this movie for kids because it teaches about the detrimental effects of bullying, stereotypes, and discrimination. Like Judy is bullied and doubted for being a rabbit and Nick was bullied and doubted for being a fox.
It reminded me of "The Land Before Time" where the dinosaurs insisted their kids stick to their own. Long Necks, 3 Horns, Spike Tails... They're supposed to keep away from each other, but the kids all got together anyway and formed a friendship.
Yes. Stereotypes too. Saying that their history makes them Angry and vicious, without even knowing a human.
Hugs for you son. Just know that I’m half black and Japanese who lived in Japan in the 80s. While it’s is still hard, it is 5000% better now.
Amazing comments
36:38 - "Meowana" is actually a stealth teaser for the next movie, because Moana wouldn't be released until several months AFTER this movie was.
Came here to say this! I'm always fascinated by Disney teasers as easter eggs 😊
technically so was giraffic, as it was a teaser to a now canceled disney movie called gigantic.
I love that the back of Judy’s phone has a carrot with a bite taken out instead of an apple!😜👍
Carrot instead of Apple

I couldn't wait for them to see that part. It's one of the funniest, most memorable scenes in any movie out there.
What’s also funny about the timber wolves scene is that people would play it with their dogs in the room and the dogs would start howling along with the wolves. There’s loads of videos on UA-cam of it.
This movie navigates the big themes so well. This is the mature Disney that I remember growing up with.

I sincerely hope that they watch the movie Violent Night. I think that movie would be fun for them to see.
YES A FELLOW KLAUS FAN IVE BEEN SUGGESTING IT FOR YEARS
@@jimjimcherie Klaus is a work of pure art.
@@Netsaver I watch it every single Christmas now and I’m still upset it didn’t win best animated film. I’ve been suggesting it for years now, hopefully this year will be it.
I’m glad they went with the subtler angle of prejudice, rather than full on oppression and subjugation. It’s easier to agree the latter is wrong.
This movie is a great example of how to tackle important issues in a kids movie.
"You're such an articulate fella" always think about that line.
RIP Tommy Lister (aka Deebo from Friday)
He voiced the fennec fox (Nick's hustling partner)
omg really😍
He was also the president in The Fifth Element!
When we saw this in theaters you could tell were every adult was sitting during the DMV scene.
Nick's buddy Fennec giggling away will always be my favourite part. "She hustled you... She hustled you good!"
Oh, and Alan Tudyk as Duke Weasleton, when in Frozen then mocked his character Duke Wesselton by mispronounced it as weasel-town.
Nick’s eyes at 16:59 - sudden reversal from “Oh, yeah” to “OH SH*T!” in 0.2 seconds.
I love how they cast a voice actor with a deep voice, too. “If you kiss me tomorrow…I’ll BITE YOUR FACE OFF”
Still one of Disney's best films of the last few years. Love that you guys have finally checked it out
fun fact...Doug is the ram who was driving the truck that nearly hit Nick when Judy & Nick first met
and Doug was also the ram reporter who asked the question about how only predators are going savage

This is my FAVORITE animated film. I LOVE Zootopia!!!
I’ve seen this movie a bunch but you guys reacting to the DMV scene nearly made me cry 😂
the man who sits on the left has such an endearing laugh!
I've been waiting on this one. I love this for Oak lol. So many lessons. This movie was way better than I expected.

24:39 The Tujunga joke is the reason this movie will forever be a favorite of mine.
IM SO HAPPY!!! it’s one of my favourite movies!!!
😮
I laughed so much during this and I didn't think I would!! As a mom I could definitely understand the reaction to the play 🤣.. Oak I loved what you said about Judy standing back up. That's truly what matters! I loved all the individual reactions.
14:08 Fun fact: The pig whose flower shop was just robbed was voiced by Josh Dallas, the real-world husband of Ginnifer Goodwin, the voice of Judy.
wait... I I just noticed it now. The reporter who askes the question "Is it true that it's only predators that are going savage?" is actually a sheep. I assume it's the assistant mayor who planted the sheep there to bring up that point and the the issue.
I'm not gonna lie the sloth one got me CRYING at the theatre, I almost peed myself laughing 😅🤣😂
YOUR VIDEOS ARE THE BEST! I LOVE YOU GUYS! 😊💖
Also, the Breaking Bad reference almost no one catches is damn brilliant.

Love the shoutout to Officer and a Gentleman and Rudy, two of my favorite movies. Thanks for the reaction, guys!
Next Jason Bateman movie should be GAME NIGHT. Hilarious and fun movie. You guys will love it
I rented out a theatre during pandemic to screen this movie for friends and fam. I love it so much!
DMV being slow is just a hilarious diss 😂😂 it gets me all the time. The reference to the Godfather and breaking bad too
Such a great movie!
I've always loved the joke that someone at Disney one day threw out "What if we do a buddy cop movie?" amd his office mate responded "Did you just say bunny cop movie?"
nah this is so weird, i was literally watching reaction videos of Zootopia yesterday and now you dropped this, HELL YEAH!
I just realized... Judy got 48 hours and she recruited a criminal to help her solve the case.. where has we seen that before? Thats right, "48 hours" with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. And Wilde was definitely a Eddie Murphy style character
I didn’t believe it when I saw the notification, I thought you guys would’ve definitely reacted to this by now!
I LOVE this film! and the short extra film was so funny too. I'm so happy you saw it :D
They either are dying laughed, or having traumatic flashbacks, no in-between 😂
The missing otter named for Emmett Otter in "Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas". A holiday staple from Jim Henson's Muppets. A must watch!
Emmet Otter is a character from Jim Henson's 1977 special, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. Which can be found on UA-cam,
My expectations were spot on with this one.
It is surprising how good this movie is.
