the part that always got to me was when merida was screaming, about to be killed by mordu, and this overwhelming need come over eleanor to save her daughter. really showed how eleanor will always be there for merida, even if it costs her her own life.
The cute little blue flame creatures (wisp? In german they calls Irrlichter!) looks in 3D so real that they would come out of the screen to our really, specilly in the ending of the movie ehen they interact with us a bit Same like they did with Merida, thats so cool to See in 3D, for to see This scotish nature of corse too^^😎
I feel Like this movie could have been a classic if they hadn’t canned the first female director and scrubbed the story of any nuanced theming about gender, womanhood and mother daughter relationships. The men who replaced her waxed poetic about how the story “wasn’t about gender” when obviously the relationship between mother and daughter and the gender roles that constrain them are the most compelling aspect of the movie! The general vibe of the movie is still fun and well polished so it’s still a fun watch, but the story is definitely a mess. I’m so curious about what was originally envisioned for the story.
OMG I just saw your coraline reaction and left a comment about how I was gonna check your channel cause I loved the reaction and I stumbled against this I LOVE BRAVE I’m definitely watching this vid Love uuuu🥰❤️
I do love this movie! I don’t remember if they mention it but Merida is 16. So when her mom scolds her for embarrassing her and acting like a child, it’s because she basically is. I can’t imagine getting married at 16! Like while I definitely had my dream wedding thought about, I definitely wouldn’t be marrying that young! I was gonna write a whole thing about animation but decided against it because I didn’t want to sway your perspective of these films, but I wanted to give a few film suggestions. Treasure Planet Atlantis Tarzan Hunchback of Notre Dame Frozen 1 & 2 Elemental The Incredibles Lilo and Stitch Ever After (with Drew Berrymore) not animated
Brave is such a strange movie. The first act, part one is pure fold. Act 2 feels like it is from a completely different mom movie. It is no where near as good as act one but it’s okay. And then act three trys to blend the first two act. There are two climaxes one better than the other. I don’t have as much to say about act 3. The whole project screams missed opportunity and it breaks my hear that the original vision was shoved aside. We so rarely get stories about mother from female perspectives and this movie was almost one of them. Deep and complex and compelling before it dove off a cliff!!!
Even as a teenager before i got into film criticism i knew something was off about the crean play of this movie. It’s alright but it could have been better and that lost potential hurts.
My husband said the same thing when he was editing it. He said it about the movie Up as well. I guess it is hard to balance adult themes with making sure the kids are entertained as well.
@@ScreenMaureen someone made an incredible video essay on the topic. Aparently Breave have the first female director for a Pixar movie initially. It is unclear if she was canned or resigned but with her left a lot of themes of motherhood and mother daughter relationships.

I don't understand why that part is bad???
How would you want it to be rewritten?
It's a kids movie. The target audience is kids, that's why the second part was...for kids
Am I the only one how thinks she sounds a bit like pearl from Steven universe?
Hi there
Hi Aran, hope you are well!
