So... Bong Joon Ho, huh? After watching Parasite (2019) and had my jaw dropped for about 10 minutes straight, I've been hunting movies under this guy's name.
SNOWPIERCER is the best movie he directed so deep
What was so great about this movie? Seems like a odd movie to follow up from memories of murder. I couldn't get into it
Watching Parasite made me remove my American stained lenses. How freeing and refreshing it was.

Honestly the shot when the monster starts running towards everyone for the first time is pretty fucking revolutionary. Never have a monster gotten such a realistic introduction.
Same, I was scared shitless. It really felt like the monster was running towards me.
It is, I saw it yesterday in a movie theater and the first long travelling on the monster truely impressed me
Not a Korean but I think K movies deserves more attention. The plot is critical yet conveyed in a simple way for viewers to understand and the actors are beyond excellent! Truly majestic.

A Bittersweet Life
Having only seen Parasite and Snowpiercer and loving both, I can’t wait to go back and watch Bong Joon-ho’s other movies.

I'll always be thankful to my parents for introducing me to this amazing director. I watched this movie when I was 8, now I'm watching Parasite being 21 and I had the same feeling from back then, pure amusement.

I've heard of this film before but i didn't bother to even watch the trailer but after seeing Parasite, I was so blown away that I need to search Bong Joon-Ho's past works and to my surprise, The Host was one of it. I'm gonna watch this.
I literally thought I dreamed this movie when I was a child... I just remember the scenes with the two kids in the sewer hiding from the monster. It's always haunted me but I'm so excited that I found it again!

@@rupman27isback there's 2 scenes with an American speaking English, the rest of the movie is Korean. Don't watch a dubbed version unless you can't read subtitles the Korean version is way better.
man, even the trailers for these movies are so intelligently constructed to peak your interest without giving away the entire plot. Dialogue used sparingly, gripping music, and edits with just enough to grasp the initial premise. Brilliant.

When I was young every time we ride the ferry boat on the way to my mother's relatives place, this movie is always, ALWAYS, on the run. Always makes me smile remembering it, especially that goddamn arrow shot.
Excellent movie, saw it as child on a DVD. Still one of the best, the CGI was way ahead of it's time. Will watch it again soon with my to-be husband.
I remember watching this years ago when I was younger with friends and it was terrifying! Always remembered it was a great movie though, a true “monster” movie.

I see ppl complaining about the ending, I dont get it. You wanted the usual happy ending but the point was she died helping that boy and even though he lost a daughter he did a great thing adopting the boy who.lost his father. I thought it was great

Watchimg it for the first time in June of 2023. Was looking for a monster movie to watch and saw this on HBO. Looked up the reviews and everyone seemed to really like it. I've gotta agree. Really well done. One thing that's funny is having seen this "after" the pandemic, I recall one scene where a bunch of people are all waiting on a street corner while it's pouring outside and this guy is coughing, which makes the people around him move away from him. Then he lowers his mask to spit in a puddle in front of them, after which a bus drives by and sprays everyone with that water. That's a scene I saw being passed around alot on the internet at the height of the pandemic. Had no idea that it was from this movie. Also, this is so much more than just a creature feature. There are some truly horrifying things that happen. Anyway, seeing as how this was so good, and Parasite got such great reviews, I'll be binge watching this director's movies this weekend.
Before Train to Busan this movie is a big hit and a masterpiece it made my childhood literally i could never ever forget this best movie

I'm currently on a Korean binge. Finished the series 'Kingdom' on Netflix and 'Train to Busan" and they were both awesome. Just now starting the Host.
"Gukje Market" is a good drama and "Sunny" is a great coming of age story.

I just had a random fever dream the other night that reminded me of this movie and I remember really liking it.
Meanwhile don't forget the original Japanese The Rigs ... 10x better than the Americanized dumbed down version.
I watched the whole original trilogy before they even thought about adapting it.
I just watched this amazing movie free on CRACKLE. At first I thought it was a CCP production but then I quickly realized almost instantly that the acting and plot were too creative, perhaps Japanese. But googling quickly revealed it was of course free South Korea. Even with the subtitles an excellent monster film. IMO the monster metaphor representing the tyranny and evil lurking just across the river where in the land where the true monster lives.
I got goosebumps ....by watching the trailer ...😑😑😑😑😑😑😑now I'll run to search for this movie😨😨😨😨😨😨😨
