“For me, good horror is taking a look at what’s actually dark in humanity, instead of shining a quick flashlight on it and running away giggling" - Robert Eggers
The people who are saying this movie was horrible don’t realize that horror doesn’t mean scary, horror is being disturbed, not being scared. You don’t need to have jump scares to make a horror movie.
Doc Von Doom : We all tried that in grade school-- at school with the bathroom lights out and also at home in my sisters (and my) room. Lights turned out ,twirling 13 times saying "Bloody Mary" and stopping to look in the direction of the mirror. Never saw anything. Did this off and on for about 3 months.
Achenar Moiety no i mean in movies where there is a cliche moment where the main character looks in the mirror, opens it up to get something from the cabinet behind and then when they look back into the mirror someone's there behind them. Then when they turn around there's nobody there.
I see what you mean. Yep, that idea's been done to death. Hopefully this movie will have a few surprises up it's sleeve ! Also, back in the days of early America -- the Puritans could be pretty brutal themselves, towards anyone even suspected of being involved in witchcraft.
Achenar Moiety oh yeah! since medieval times even. Coupled with a set of "trials" that involve being lighter than a duck (scales were rigged) and pretty much any woman that was hated by anybody would get accused and get torched. Anyway, if channeling a demon by chanting bloody mary to a mirror were actually true then i'm pretty sure a military organisation somewhere would have weaponised it by now.
A24 makes real horror. Unsettling, not many jump scares, disturbing themes and imagery. They are creative in their story telling and I know many of us can appreciate that.
This is very historical, when a person back in the 1600's felt that there was a witch or demon upon them, they would go through all of these risks. Blaming their friends and family for the paranormal happenings because they didn't want it to be true. I applaud the writers.
I really loved that Eggers used natural sunlight for the day scenes, and only natural fire light for the night. It makes it look more realistic for the time this story was narrated. No doubt Robert Eggers is a great director!
Can't believe this only got 6,8 on IMDB. Probably many people thought this was a hard horror film. It's more like a creepy drama. The quality tho. Amazing movie.
I just rewatched this last night, and there is a very interesting detail. When the father is inspecting his corn, look and you can clearly see that the corn has ergot fungus. Ergot is a hallucinogen
Ergot doesn’t affect corn. Sorry to burst the bubble. It does however affect wheat, rye, and other grasses. Commonly eaten. PhD is in plant pathology. Corn does get other fun fungi though. But we actually eat one of those and it tastes a bit like a weird mushroom.
This is what horror should be. No jump scares, just disturbing horrific content. Not like that cookie cutter BS hollywood has been force feeding us lately. 10/10

I watched the movie on my computer with earbuds so it was not hard to understand the dialogue, but it was probably a lot more difficult in a movie theater setting to catch everything
It's Early Modern English from the Elizabethan time period, not "Old English". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Modern_English "Old English" refers to the Anglo-Saxon language, which would be nearly completely unintelligible to us en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English
This movie was a masterpiece, from its rich historical accuracy, its old English dialogue , to what the director shows you or allows to be seen and what’s left up to the imagination… this film impacted me when it came out , it’s hopeful that Hollywood still has a few real artists working in the industry
"Jump scares in horror movies is like a comedian physically going out and tickling their audience" ~ Chris Stuckman - This is why movies like this are so amazing compared to many of the other films we get! The atmosphere, mood and cinematography is amazing! You just get such a pure feeling of dread and eerieness with films like these and its just so well done!
Just saw this last night. Great movie. Old fashioned horror that stands the test of time. Well written, sound plot, authentic dialogue, brilliantly directed and could not get over how brilliant the acting was from every single character, even the kids.
superwolfgirl27 hmmm...y'know what? I can barely recall the soundtrack and that in itself is a further testament to the quality of everything else as the soundtrack is one of the main things I usually take note off.
yeah the thing is this kind of isn't REALLY a horror.. it's like a period piece.. folk tale. i think that might be why people got so mad that "it wasn't really scary." (although they are totally wrong.. it's scary in a real way not the cheap jump-scare way. maybe disturbing/foreboding would be better words than scary.)
underground man You can’t be serious. This movie was a downright boring piece of shit. Then again, you can’t even figure out how to make a profile pic....so you obviously don’t know anything. Period.
MarinOS2107 I know right? I was scared there would be jumpscares but damn that girl in the end was enough to spook me out. I dunno if I have the courage to watch this
MarinOS2107 I've heard there are a couple jump scares in the film but I also hear the film somehow warrants them. The tension builds so much that you're just hoping for a jump scare to end it.
Anybody that says this film is trash has absolutely no taste in horror or appreciation for the genre at all. They are just used to the cookie cutter shit that you leave your brain at the door before going in to watch it. This was a masterpiece of a film.
The movie is fucking terrible, not eerie not disturbing not scary, too predictable and impossible understand wtf their saying. After watching The ritual I think I’m going struggle to find another good and relatable horror
Completely agree with you. This is a masterpiece. Watched it after a University film professor recommended it and I see why he did. Very unsettling and fantastic cinematography
Mau Jo Fear is an unpleasant emotion. Horror is INTENSE fear. You can have a suspenseful film that provokes fear without it being a horror movie. Only time will tell.
The Witch has such an authentic and unique style and atmosphere to it! I haven't found a film quite like it yet, and this trailer alone is so good! I can't wait for Robert's version of Nosferatu!
Just saw the movie, and first off, this is a GREAT horror movie. Very slow-paced, and a lot of people might not like that at all. But this is true horror. The whole vibe of the movie is disturbing and the last 15 min pay up tremendously. Now, for anyone who's seen it, I was wondering if anyone can help me out with the ending.. *Spoilers* When the daughter was in the shed, was she talking with the goat, who was satan? Because in the corner you could see a manly face behind her vaguely. If anyone can confirm that'd be great!
One of the most unique horror films that has come out recently! Finally, a horror movie that is not a lousy remake, sequel, found footage movie, Exorcist ripoff, or a movie filled with lame jump scares. Stanley Kubrick would be proud!
+Laila Flagg after she lost everything she decided to join the witches, she as pushed over the edge. so she made a deal with the devil to gain power etc
Great movie to watch during Halloween time. I recommend you watch with subtitles though, that way you won't be missing anything they say. The actors accent was ON POINT. They speak with a heavy old English accent.
Yessy Estrada yeah and the voice quality is shit and ancient. You need subtitles to understand what they saying but even if u don't completely understand the words it's ok---it was meant to be like that ---like Shakespeare
@@cruisertechgt nope. some of it may be old English but it's another case of people (almost always people from MURICA) not opening their ears and listening to words that are the same language as what they speak. It's a joke!

I watched this movie with both my father and mother. We were halfway through it when my father stood up and took the Bible and went to the other room to read it. My mother and I kept watching it and to this day this is one of the best horror movies I've ever seen.
@@edweisai well he's a very religious person, so it's normal for my mother and I to see that kind of reactions from him. In that moment we even find his reaction even funny
I think this movie is a masterpiece! The Lighthouse is a dismal mistake. Anja and Ralph's performances should have garnered them Oscar nominations. More you watch this movie the better you appreciate it.
God bless your Dad, and God bless you and your Mom. I really appreciate what your Dad did. I'm sure he felt grieved as a Christian by some dark or evil or cruel things in the film, and felt convicted by the Holy Spirit to read the Bible instead. I think that's beautiful and genuine love for Jesus. Your Father is very blessed and a very wise man. I wonder why he didn't invite you to read the Bible with him though. I wouldn't let my son watch this movie until he was maybe twenty. I believe horror movies have really poisoned my mind over the years and I wish I never watched many of the things I've seen. You can't forget them. God bless your Family and may you understand why your Dad did that. If you think it's funny, you are underestimating him. He Loves Jesus and wants to please Him.
Absolutely loved this movie. This movie introduced me to unsettling horror. Just pure psychological tension. The music is very important in it yet even without it, you feel the tension rise progressively as things take it’s worst turn. The closest sensation to this I’ve felt from another movie was from The Lighthouse, which is also by Robert Egger, the producer of this movie. This producer knows precisely what he wants to give and he does give it. 9/10 movie. The overuse of the music, whilst really well done, is the missing one, as I personally think it’s use make some tense moments less impactful. However they are very well timed. It is just a tad over the perfect amount.
matthew w That scene made me want to fucking puke. And I wanted throw that little brat from that hole. But not before I got to bitch slap him about a few times, and then proceed to kick his ass to be thrown into the hole.
Man, just watched this film. Gotta say, this movie is more of like a piece of art rather than just a normal horror movie. So I wouldn't recommend It If you're just looking for something to get scared of.
Horror doesn't have to be scary and have jump scares or creepy creatures in it. It has to make you uncomfortable but still thrilling and entertaining to watch.
This movie didn't really scare me, but made me deeply uncomfortable. Like I-would-classify-this-movie-along-with-suspiria-and-midsommar type of horror.
Finished it amazing, the ambient, the scenes, the actors (including the kids), etc; and the final really enjoyable, this kind of movies are a treasure in this days.
+Brisa Pacheco I just watched the movie; The Witch is definitely a psychological horror, which is quite refreshing to be honest. If you are looking for cheap jump scares, this movie will let you down, but if you are looking for a film that has some meat to it and are of an open mind, you will likely enjoy it.
To all the people saying this doesn't look scary, go watch something like the gallows or the poltergeist remake you know with jump scares. The rest of us will stick to real horror
+Enrique Quinto I agree, in my opinion the insidious movies are plain ridiculous, there are at least 50 jump scares in each of those movies lmao it was so annoying
Alea Farmer Insidious isn't as bad as a lot of other recent horror movies. Sure there are tons of jumpscares but they all accompany something meant to be scary like a demon as opposed to a door slamming really loudly or something falling or breaking or a person coming up behind someone else. I would much rather watch it over the gallows, poltergeist (the remake) or sinister 2
+Alea Farmer Insidious is not all that bad. I can say the first movie is the best of the 3 and yes it has a lot of jumpscares but i agree with Ian about them. BUT let's hope the horror genre is ressurected:)
+Ian Levinson I was so into Insidious....and then we see 'it' listening to Tiny Tim. I was done. Spongebob and Insidious would have the same soundtrack lol
I love this director. ‘The Witch’ and ‘The Lighthouse’ really were fantastic movies. I know his movies aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I really like what I’m seeing so far.
Senior Adrian You're acting like there are tons of found footage movies released. Of the hundreds of movies released this year, there has/have been one, arguably two, (The Gallows and maybe Unfriended, depending on how loosely you want to use the descriptor) that have made their way to theaters.
That's exactly right Horror doesn't mean blood, gore and the jump scare. A horror film can be disturbing and unnerving without being the usual bloodfests they're usually known for. The Witch is f'n awesome for this very reason.
Thats the point. Horror doesent mean being scared, its being creeped out and leaves u thinking. Sad that people mistake this genre for cheap jumpscares.😔
@@hishamrashid5293 Speak for yourself. Creepiness doesn't scare me; it just makes me uncomfortable. I want my heart to race, to lean back in my chair, and fight the urge to turn the lights on. I want to go to sleep and have nightmares, or to lose sleep because I don't know how my subconscious will process what I saw. THAT is fear.
Crankyhead those old school days when our parents were kids.. gathered around a radio listening to E.G. Marshall reading a story. All you had to do was listen, and sit still.
Eggers is in a league of his own. Completely original and unique. How refreshing. The Lighthouse and The Northman are two of my favorite films ever. Anya Taylor-Joy is superb and has a bright future.
For those of you who want to see a horror movie that scares the shit out of you, this is not the film for you. I saw this movie last night, and it was amazing. The cinematography, acting, dialogue, etc. all on point. (minor spoiler below) But just a forewarning you don't see the witch (witches, actually) until the last 10 minutes. The film does a good job at making the viewer feel unsettled but it didn't scare me in the slightest. The movie is incredibly slow for the most part; you'll find yourself wanting something scary to happen and it ultimately doesn't. I was slightly disappointed with this film as I was going into it expecting a horror. It watches more like a drama film. Don't get me wrong, though. The film is amazing! Some masterful writing and directing.
I think it IS scary, but for different reasons. The best part about this movie was it didn't rely on jump scares, but atmosphere and imagery instead. The scariest part was the family, because we have to witness their turmoil and we as an audience want to get out. It took me a lot of time thinking about it, and now I can say that The VVitch is a very different, unique and original horror film.
Connor Morley It was unsettling to me. I wasn't actually scared at any point in the film. I wanted to be, but I wasn't. The imagery and the atmosphere is done AMAZINGLY. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to scare me. I was really hoping to see more of the witch(es); instead, we got an hour of dramatic tension and family turmoil. This film is definitely horror. It's just not the horror that breaks me.
+John Doe speak for yourself. This, Maniac and The Strangers are the only non-found footage films to legit scare me. (Though to be fair, Event Horizon came pretty fucking close)
I've been waiting for this film since January when I read some amazing reviews from Sundance, I'm so happy so see films like this, like the Babadook, It Follows and Goodnight Mommy, genre films with atmosphere, great stories and fascinating characters, something that big Hollywood forgot to put on their genre films (I'm looking at you Blumhouse). I'm gonna watch the shit out of this movie.
The Wilfred I was expecting the Babadook to be good, but when I finally saw it, the monster looked like something out of The Might Boosh TV show. We all cracked up lol, so bad.
What I loved about the movie is the Thomasin was the only one who was free from any sin. And the devil got the best one to turn, thus defeating god in this instant.
Austen Green Literally a "W" is just two "v's". It should be called a double v. It is spelled correctly, but Im guessing your joking. This was just a nice excuse to complain that A "W" ISNT AN ACTUAL "U".
"The Witch"(2015) is one of the 100 best horror movies of all time for sure! This is a classic horror masterpiece already, and it has a very sorrowful and scary ending!
I dont find it to be more disturbing than some of the “tryhard” disturbing movies Such as Serbian Film for example. I like this movie’s atmosphere, it is disturbing but like in a better kind of way? If it makes sense. It is not about necrop*elia or some other sht like that but it is creepy and something new.
What is it about lol. You guys aren't answering the question very well. What is disturbing about this movie? Is it satanic? Witchcraft? Hallucinogenic? Sexual? Ugly? Weird? Dark? What is actually going on here?????
@@coryc1904 in the beginning one witch takes the baby sister from the oldest daughter who watching her outside playing pick a boo and kills it for power, then the boy walks to forest alone trying look for baby and what happened but he sees witch and she kisses him, then he goes home sick and possessed and dies, the parents blame the oldest sister being a witch but she says no and blames the fathers past sins for what’s happening, then the kids die, the mom tries kills the oldest but ends up killing mom, in the end the devil calls the oldest sister back to a room and talks her to going to forest, she takes off clothes and goes to forest only to find all the witches around fire as they float up in air and she joins them. You must watch to see how disturbing it is since they took the baby to sacrifice and kill children
The Witch is one of the best films of the past decade. This is one of those examples where I just can't comprehend that anyone would disagree. A lot of non-critics apparently do. Regardless, this film is truly a masterpiece of cinema.
I think people have a difficult time understanding that just like there are different types of laughter and different types of comedies, there are different types of fear and different types of horror films. This film is meant to convey atmosphere, tension, a feeling of discomfort, cold isolation, and uneasiness about nature. It's not meant to make you jump out of your seat, as much as it's meant to give you a feeling of being in someone's nightmare.
+Huesos 138 yeah u r right, there are different tastes and different types of horrors (and films generally) but a lot of people complains that they were waiting for a climax and there was no climax...

If you're worried about the negative comments here, just take a moment to tally up the spelling and grammatical errors and lack of punctuation in those comments. People who need their horror movies to have a monster or a murderer running around killing people while they're having sex and characters who suggest the group split up and search the house will probably hate this movie, but that's ok because it's not for them. If you want something well crafted, well thought out, subtle, and focused on tension and atmosphere rather than jump scares, then this movie is for you.
You said exactly what I was thinking! This film requires an appreciation and respect for horror movies as more than just something to pass the time on halloween. I thought it was absolutely brilliant and seriously upped the anti for the horror genre in general. 5 stars!
Wow... this is literally the scariest movie I have ever seen. I usually find horrors to be pretty lame and cliche but this is how its fuckin done. Im actually blown away by how good this was.

Have seen well over 50 horror movies incl all the ones on the 'scariest movies of all time" and "most disturbing movie of all time"' top lists (incl Flowers of flesh and blood, a serbian film, martyrs, obvs saw and hostel and human centipede) and found this to be one of the most gripping horror films I've ever seen. Fantastic to find a horror film that is both scary and excellent. Love the Shining and the old classics like that but don't find them scary.
@@Swayze_S.L Damn right!! I enjoy a good jumpscare film too and this one had me hiding under the covers even without jumpscares (apart from the fucking goat)
The Witch is one of the best and most original horror films of the past 20 years. From the clothing, to the houses, to the Elizabethan English, the 1600's are rendered in beautiful detail here. In contrast to the laughable Jamestown television series (basically a modern soap opera in period costumes), everything about The Witch is authentic, giving one the eerie feeling of "being there" in 17th century New England. The atmosphere is uniformly ominous and foreboding, reflecting the total isolation of the family in the wilderness. The cinematography is excellent (Note the wagon scene when they are forced out of the colony: it is beautifully shot). The acting is excellent by all involved, creating an intimate portrait of the disintegration of a family under extreme duress. The intimacy and emotion of this family's experience is even uncomfortable in some scenes, almost making the viewer feel like a voyeur. The film is somewhat ambiguous. Is the witch to be taken literally, or is she a manifestation of a group psychosis brought about by isolation, Puritan paranoia, or perhaps poisoning from tainted grain? The film maker leaves it to the viewer to decide, which may account for some of the negative reviews. Some viewers need everything spelled out for them. Ignore the negative reviews. If you are a horror fan who appreciates great craftsmanship in film making, see The Witch.
This film is now at the top of my list of favorite movies. It truly was a unique piece and I doubt we'll be seeing anything like it for a long while. Absolutely amazing acting from every person in this film, especially the brother. I love that the directors/writers weren't afraid to "go there." Remarkable film, and the most notable bookmark of this piece was the absolutely terrifying and stunning soundtrack. Really, really good watch. This film is not for the impatient or the people who just want a quick scare. It's based on folklore--real testaments of this period, which really only adds to its completion. While it is not meant for everyone, I believe that if you're a true fan of horror or disturbingly unnerving movies, you'll love this one.
Truly is art, perfection, it came strictly from real folktale. I know people can't piece together this film because nothing jumps at you and etc this film was perfect. it easily went into the top 3 best films for my fave film collection. unnerving and unsettling, i was tosssing and turning the night i watched this. it was too perfect!
Just watched this on Netflix. I enjoyed it. It was a good horror film that really makes you think about how solitude and religion affect your mental health and mind.
This film perfectly captured the utter powerlessness these farmers experience. Praying to a God they hope has not abandoned them as everything comes crashing down and when the last survivor is broken the great deciever makes his entrance.
This movie was glorious. I was absolutely captured by this masterpiece beginning to end. Some people told me it was slow or boring, or that it was too confusing. I don't speak to those people anymore.
I found this movie so disturbing! Psichologicaly it's so different from all i've already seen. If you're searching for something with cheap jump scares , CGI and computerized voices this isn't for you! Slowly paced, for you to feel the agony of those who suffer and not showing everything in the daylight for you to be afraid and remain tense! It's a must watch indeed. I would rate it 8/10, best horror movie in the last decade!
This movie was amazing. Not cheesy or corny, you can actually see this took time and effort to make. One of the most disturbing and mind playing movies I seen in a loong time, also with some shots reminds me of Hereditery or even Midsommar.
Thry marketed it as a horror movie. The only way for people to go see it. But it's not a gory and constant horror film. It's like a drama that is unsettling and disturbing. It's not really about the witch but the family. I found the end with Satan incredibly suspenseful. That voice. The design, camera work, cinematography and music are very atmospheric. Like a less campy version of Sleepy Hollow.
One of the true great films of my time. Not just in horror but in general. The acting is superb. I think Ralph ineson must have lived a former life during this time period because he played it so naturally. Maybe he’s a time traveler? I’ve gone back and watched the movie 3 times. I can’t get enough of if.
***** Demonic goat milk? I wouldn't be too upset if I became lactose intolerant. But in many religions and folklore the goat is often a symbol of evil especially in Europe during the middle ages. The demon Baphomet has the head of a goat. I wonder if any of this will have any relevance in the film? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

not 1 jump scare. 10/10
Is there such a thing as a site that rates thrillers 'scariness' by whether or not they have a jump scare? I almost always turn off the audio...
Jump scares are for people who need to be told when to be scared. This movie gives you the room to decide.
excited to watch this one. As a horror movie fan I like the way you put that first sentence... it really is 'scares on command'
It seems that a real horrific story scares enough, whereas a mediocre story depends on jumpscares to achieve its purpose

Probably. It was muffed and hard to understand at times.
I watched the movie on my computer with earbuds so it was not hard to understand the dialogue, but it was probably a lot more difficult in a movie theater setting to catch everything
It's Early Modern English from the Elizabethan time period, not "Old English".

How was the soundtrack? Did it add to the intensity of the movie?

Just saw the movie, and first off, this is a GREAT horror movie. Very slow-paced, and a lot of people might not like that at all. But this is true horror. The whole vibe of the movie is disturbing and the last 15 min pay up tremendously. Now, for anyone who's seen it, I was wondering if anyone can help me out with the ending.. *Spoilers*
When the daughter was in the shed, was she talking with the goat, who was satan? Because in the corner you could see a manly face behind her vaguely. If anyone can confirm that'd be great!

God bless your Family and may you understand why your Dad did that. If you think it's funny, you are underestimating him. He Loves Jesus and wants to please Him.
And that father? Albert Einstein.

For those of you who want to see a horror movie that scares the shit out of you, this is not the film for you. I saw this movie last night, and it was amazing. The cinematography, acting, dialogue, etc. all on point. (minor spoiler below)
But just a forewarning you don't see the witch (witches, actually) until the last 10 minutes.
It took me a lot of time thinking about it, and now I can say that The VVitch is a very different, unique and original horror film.
what? we see the witch in the first five minutes, ya liar!
Allison Collins Didn't count it because it's so brief.

5 stars!
True. This is a great movie.
Condescending prick
To be honest, your punctuation is shit.
What freaking atmosphere what a boring thing i did not get nervous nor feel anything
The scene where the black goat goes rampage is genuinely terrifying. Also the scene where she founds the witches around the fire.. 😕
"Does thou like a pretty dress?"
"Yes!"
(Arrives at squad, everyone's naked)
Miche Spade us pagans call it skyclad lol. It's a belief to be more natural that way. Closer to nature, unless natural material is used
It wasn't that scary at the time, but I did have nightmares
I got all paranoid when I was trying to sleep, about the devil being in the shadows of my room.
dam im getting scared just by reading the comments

Are you guys 9 years old?
Who's here after watching Midsommar and Hereditary? Anyone?
Hereditary is trash
@@marcusmartin5758 You've got two first names
I've finally seen this and Hereditary, though saw Hereditary first. I'm so glad this film delivered, Hereditary did not.
Yes
me!! i hope i like it just as much as i like midsommar!!
The music, the scenery, the atmosphere, are so perfect.
This director is amazing, “The Witch” and now “The Lighthouse” , who is less of a horror film, but it’s magnificent!
Wow... this is literally the scariest movie I have ever seen. I usually find horrors to be pretty lame and cliche but this is how its fuckin done. Im actually blown away by how good this was.
Same here!!
Then you don't watch enough scary movies cause this one was lame as hell
@@ritabos7162 The likes suggest I'm not alone 🤷🏽♂️ You can go watch that cliché jump scare bullshit if you want to. I'm good over here!
@@Swayze_S.L Damn right!! I enjoy a good jumpscare film too and this one had me hiding under the covers even without jumpscares (apart from the fucking goat)
So that's where she fell to.
looks like she survived the fall 😂
Seems like she's yet again landed herself into another hole at the hands of her husband/toy boy or w/e.

A dark and disturbing piece of art. The movie had an authentic feel to it that pulled me in. Great acting from all cast.
Confusing trailer, which makes me wanna watch it 🤔🤔
Think that's the point in trailers
+rachel lyall But not to confuse you though
řy😔💋
+rachel lyall tell that shit to the new batman cs super man trailer, u basically seen the whole movie
+M Omar ive never been able to figure out what is on those particular emoji's......what is written on them?
just watched it and let me tell you im.. TRAUMATIZED
You just block all your friends and never speak to them again 😂
I found this movie so disturbing! Psichologicaly it's so different from all i've already seen. If you're searching for something with cheap jump scares , CGI and computerized voices this isn't for you! Slowly paced, for you to feel the agony of those who suffer and not showing everything in the daylight for you to be afraid and remain tense! It's a must watch indeed. I would rate it 8/10, best horror movie in the last decade!
Check "Tusk" out
DogePT *Psychologically
So basically a kind of similar to Lovecraftian works and When They Cry (minus the cringey Moe crap)?.
This movie was amazing.
Not cheesy or corny, you can actually see this took time and effort to make. One of the most disturbing and mind playing movies I seen in a loong time, also with some shots reminds me of Hereditery or even Midsommar.
thought the title was The VVitch
um yes it is and thats what your reading in the title stop smoking so much shit.
you are german ?
no it is : The Bitch
deni sherlock very very itch
It is in some accents.
Franky Novotny goat was the main actor..i felt ;)
I’m so scared of witches…. I WANT TO WATCH THIS 😭 but I can’t
Hehe same
It’s an amazing film
It's not that scary. It's disturbing
As the comment above me says, it’s not really scary, it’s just really *really* disturbing and creepy…
u r a witch
Thou shalt give us a sequel. I demand thee!
I'm here after watching the spongebob trailers for the lighthouse.
Darksepheroth lol
😂😂

Wtf me too
One of the true great films of my time. Not just in horror but in general. The acting is superb. I think Ralph ineson must have lived a former life during this time period because he played it so naturally. Maybe he’s a time traveler? I’ve gone back and watched the movie 3 times. I can’t get enough of if.
The goat who played black Phillip is an amazing actor, wish I could of seen Him in more movies. Honestly he could of been one of the G.O.A.T.S!
Bah Bah Bah....... Bah Bah. I'm I the only one who get's an ominous feeling from the black goat?
You're right i have a strange feeling about that goat !
dylan blasenak It's Satan's goat muhahahahaha all hail her sinful milk =PPPPP
***** Demonic goat milk? I wouldn't be too upset if I became lactose intolerant. But in many religions and folklore the goat is often a symbol of evil especially in Europe during the middle ages. The demon Baphomet has the head of a goat. I wonder if any of this will have any relevance in the film? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
maybe the witch is the goat
+dylan blasenak I was thinking about the goat milk too, maybe it will play into the film.
