You know... (after finally being able to watch this video) being a fan of Bayonetta and Pamela Horton... having her in this episode was actually a shock and pretty damned awesome.
Okami would be nice. Problem is, the game would probably take a while on what I would already imagine is a taxing schedule. Getting all the fish was a major time sink for me, not to mention feeding all the animals was a nightmare. That being said, I don't think it would take as nearly as much time as Bayonetta has or some of the game that the achievements are based on multiplayer shenanigans .
Stray Beads are worth it though. Infinite Health, Ink Gauge and x10 Attack and Magic if memory serves me correctly, and getting the Cherry Blossom rank on everything else for the other skins to play around with are a nice reward. The others (treasure, fish, the bestiary), unless if he was playing the HD PS3 version, there wouldn't be any incentive for them and the HD version just gives you the achievement.
XVII Having completed it shortly after getting a PS3 last year, I don't think it would be a huge timesink. I completed it in maybe four days, and Jirard has had many games take the full week. What makes Okami quicker is because, unlike Bayonetta, it's literally impossible to die in it, and there's not really any ranking system.
I love how the demons that dante fought as bosses in the first Devil May Cry ended up being Bayonetta's summons (phantom/spider, gryphon, etc) PS: i also loved Bayonetta!!!
Bayonetta's one of those amazing games I started and had to stop, for whatever reason. This review has reminded me a lot, of what I loved about the game. So I'll tackle the game again, hopefully in 2017 or early 2018. Also looking forward to seeing Jirard play and complete Shovel Knight again, since it'll likely have all 3 additional campaigns and Amiibo support.
I think we all forgot that Bae-onetta has the life saver, if you don’t know what.. then here’s the saying: “Thick thighs, save lives” also THERES NO RIVER, W I D E R T H A N A M I L E! I M C R O S S I N G Y O U I N S T Y L E.

Hideki created her.... so to speak, Mari Shimazaki (Shimako) though was her designer.... a female artist at Platinum. I love all this talk sometimes you hear about oh bayo is soo over sexualised typical male creation etc..... yet they are all wrong :D
At the same time most games have male protagonists that are either ripped and chiseled, tall fair and handsome, are a mix of the above with godlike skill sets that transcend any man in the planet. Females may be over sexualized like Bayonetta, but males are as well. I just don't get why all the complaining happens when these kind of female characters show up.
@@colddripgaming They were making a joke, if you reread the conversation. And in my opinion? Yes, there's a difference between being a sex object and being attractive. However, very often when a character is criticized for being nothing more than a sex object... they are simply attractive.
It's just typical gamer lingo. You'll always have 200 favorite games of all time. They each bring their own individual flavor and uniqueness to the table and so it's okay to have a "favorite" game of all time even if that means it's way more than just one.
As someone who isn't a completionist - I went out of my way to 100% Bayonetta. I did everything Jirard(?); got Sai-Fung, the Climax Bracelet, all the Tears of Blood etc. and all I gotta say is... Completely worth it.
I absolutely love how Bayonetta's last third fights make UA-cam's compressing absolutely sweat. The utter chaos of, let's say fight a priest flying on peacock feathers on a piece of building falling down is peak Bayo.

Milky MiLk yes… And it’s the same lyrics, just with a guy singing instead of a girl. That’s the only difference. Oh… And it’s much jazzyerr given Frank Sinatra was a jazz/swing singer. whatever you want to refer to it as.
I love this game and character so much, I even picked up a Nintendo Switch almost solely so that I could play the remastered first and second games and wait impatiently for the third. It is just bonkers and I have played it over and over again. That being said though I will NEVER be able to complete it. I simply do not have the reflexes needed to be absolutely perfect (especially against Gracious and Glorious, those fuckers). Major props to you for doing it all so beautifully. Any chance you might do an episode on Bayonetta 2?
The Wii U is a super underrated console. Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, and Xenoblade Chronicles X by themselves were enough to justify the console for me. Smash 4 was icing on the cake, PLUS the 100% Wii backwards compatibility make it an amazing console to own.
So here's an idea. What if Platinum made a Sonic Game? Just Think about it! I've been dying to know what a Sonic styled fast paced beat-em-up action game would be like since Unleashed and Boom brought up the idea, before falling flat on their respective faces. I think it'd be like Sonic Heroes, not in the team gameplay aspect, although that would be cool, but they'd have sections of enemies you have to take out to progress, but instead of spamming the homing attack, there'd be actual combat. And maybe doing well in the combat sections could take seconds off your time, or be included in the ranking system some how And i don't mean to hate on Unleashed, as i actually really like that game, but the werehog is not what i wanted out of a Sonic the Hedgehog Beat-em-Up
@@yoyokai117 Black Knight's problem is motion control combine with endless run mobile game genre. If it had been on other console and had not had that genre mix in, it would have been decent
Seriously this guy is the hardest working man on UA-cam. The amount of time that goes into these episodes is nuts. I don't know how he manages to put out as many episodes a year as he does. *I wish someone would go through all his videos and tally up the total amount of game play time.* Then maybe total amount of episode time and see how many game play minutes/hours goes into UA-cam video episode minutes. It'd be something ridiculous I'm sure.
We literally just finished recording videos for this game, and then we find this? Guess it's just a good day for Bayonetta! Awesome video Jirard. Nice to see there's some decent completion bonuses in this one, even if it is a grueling task to complete it!
Oh my god, Jirard! Amazing job! I love the beginning part of this video, were you talk about what things worry you about completing this game. I hadn't seen your videos in a while so I don't know when you implemented this feature into your video structure but I adore it. Hats off to you.
One criticism I still have about the modern Completionist videos: This facade that you're completing these games from 0 to 100% in a week every time. In this one, you even said that you've been working to complete the game for a long time in the cold open, and then later do the "I'm afraid of all the difficulty levels, because I have to do all this in a week" thing! I know, it's such a minor thing, and I'm being generic UA-cam complainer right now, but lines like that take me out of the video. Everything else, I love, as always, it's just that one teeeeensy thing.
That facade died permanently after the Skyrim episode. The weekly tempo is clearly on a game-by-game basis now. Plus, it's not really even a facade when he explicitly informs that it took a long time. And even then, being scared of the difficulty levels is totally valid, it's not like Jirard does anything in a slow, lax manner anyway.
HeapOfBones I mean, like I said, in this video he both said he DIDN'T complete the game in a week and not five minutes afterwards that it'd be a challenge for him to do so, so there's still an attempt to keep that narrative going. There's a disconnect between the on-camera and voiceover scripts, that's where my nitpick is!
But it is still a challenge to do all the difficulty levels? At no point does he say that it's a challenge _because_ he's doing it in a week, that's just an assumption you're adding due to that being a part of it in the past (for some games). The challenge of completion has a lot of aspects, not just the (potential) time limit.
Recently got my hands on the remaster and I've finished it 4 times. Every time I play this game I think to myself "they will probably never make a game like this again" which is just sad
its like DMC had a baby with dead or alive. i bought a Wii U just to play this game (and pt2), but then it came out on steam.... so i guess i bought a wiiU to literally play 1 game. im still terrible... but ive never had so much fun being terrible. also, apparently i should just wait for anything i buy to go on sale because i never use anything i buy until theyre like 3 years old anyway.
I bet Jirard is gonna review a Metroid game next week. I can feel it in my gut. Which one exactly? I dunno, probably a 2D one. Edit: Sorry, forgot what day it was.
What the hell. I went into this video not expecting pure plats on every level, and in infinite climax too no less. I can barely make it through hard getting at least bronze or silver. Non Stop Infinite respect
What I love about the Bayonetta games is that it actually challenges the gamer, even in easy mode, and on top of that, it's so much fun to play over and over again that I don't get bored repeating the levels to work on getting a higher score. There are so many games these days that aren't really that hard once you figure out the controls... or you can cheat by spending money in an online store... but you can't do that in Bayonetta. Sure it has an in-game store, but you still have to play to earn money (halos) and there are no shortcuts. But more important to me is that I can still have fun going back and playing different levels, rather than finishing the game once and never playing the game again. This is certainly the best hack-n-slash game in a long time and the action is definitely top-notch. It satisfies every sadistic urge of mine to spank an angel to death (I'm so going to hell hahaha).
Loving the thumbnail haha. I have this game sitting on my shelf and I have yet to play it but I really need to because I've been obsessed looking at stuff around the game. Going off this review and others, looks like I'm in for quite the experience as I haven't played many of Hideki Kamiya's games lol Great review!
I haven't actually watched this channel in a while but Bayonetta (/Bayonetta 2) is one of my absolute favourite games, and I knew you would do a good job at covering it! I really liked this episode!
Anyone who 100% this game, much less gets to & beats Rodin, deserves the respect of everyone who considers the fan of the action/stylish action genre. You have earned my respect.

Fun Fact: It was once said to be a Beyonetta 3 for the Nintendo Switch to be out at a certain time. Although I don't know if it's true if it's really happening with a release date, what we do know is that there was a Nintendo Switch remake of the original Beyonetta in 2019, after Jirard completed the versions available at the time, which makes me wonder if he should complete Beyonetta 1 again. Opinion: Playing Beyonetta 1 in the middle of No Nut November is going to be a real question, because of a few of the characters, and that we know the game is good.
As people mentioned it's Pamela Horton, she was one of the main people for Gamer Next Door and Jirard was a guest on a few streams and stuff so he knows her.
Fun fact (I apologize if this was brought up before, oops), the Pillowtalk weapon is actually Waka's weapon from Okami! I just recently beat Bayonetta a couple of weeks ago, and I absolutely adored it! Admittedly I had no idea the game was THIS hard, but still. I might go back and revisit, we'll see~
Please complete Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn and do back to back episodes please! Just keep in mind you have to do them both at the same time because completing Radiant Dawn requires you transferring over save data from Path of Radiance. You can only hold five saves for PoR at a time and you'll need at least 6 playthroughs to get the support conversations for every character pairing. On top of that you need to complete it an additional 9 times to unlock all the characters for the trail battles. Just remember not to do the first 6 play throughs on "easy" as the USA easy mode doesn't exist in Japan and Europe and Radiant Dawn will glitch out if you have any easy mode saves on your memory card. As far as Radiant Dawn At least Maniac mode isn't that bad other than the Dawn Brigade levels. ...Love ya Jiraid!
Loved to see you finally complete this game. For me Bayonetta is a special game, as seeing it played while visiting a friend convinced me to finally by PS3, and it is the first game ever I achieved the platinum trophy. I also remember how I skipped some morning lectures because of the night before I had planned to defeat Father Balder just before going to sleep, but couldn't stop playing before I had finished the Epilogue. (For me the Epilogue is one of the greatest moments of gaming, and I still listen Friendship from my MP3 player while jogging to give me the last final push to the finish.) And god how I love Jeanne in this game. Bayonetta 2 was a bit of a disappointment because of her minor role in that, and how Platinum Games switched her hair with Bayonetta's. Well, I hope they fix that in possible Bayonetta 3.
I’d love to meet Bayonetta in real life!! Like she’s sooo amazing I honestly love her! Women empowerment! Also it’s those rewards at the end of the chapters that remind me I’m terrible at Bayonetta:( I also think Cereza is the most adorable thing in this game!! Also loved the game Theory reference

also he's getting a new game again, isn't he?
You know... (after finally being able to watch this video) being a fan of Bayonetta and Pamela Horton... having her in this episode was actually a shock and pretty damned awesome.
And both of your reactions to Pamela would probably be my response to her as well.
Speaking of Okami, you should do Okami. That game's f'ing amazing!
EDIT: Holy crap, is that grey in your beard? Stress is getting to you, my dude.
WheeledJustice ah I would love if he did okami, but XVII has a really good point. The stray beads took me an insane amount of time to collect too :/
Stray Beads are worth it though.
Yeah, it's impossible to die if you're good at video games. (I've seen people die in it, it made me sad).
Cerveza calling Bayonetta mummy is the cutest thing ever
Right! I love Cereza she’s the cutest!!
I love how the demons that dante fought as bosses in the first Devil May Cry ended up being Bayonetta's summons (phantom/spider, gryphon, etc)
PS: i also loved Bayonetta!!!

As someone who isn't a completionist - I went out of my way to 100% Bayonetta. I did everything Jirard(?); got Sai-Fung, the Climax Bracelet, all the Tears of Blood etc. and all I gotta say is...
Completely worth it.
You've inspired me brother; I downloaded both of them on the Switch 2 months ago. Wish me luck. :)
@@98953812 Good luck. You'll need it.
I absolutely love how Bayonetta's last third fights make UA-cam's compressing absolutely sweat. The utter chaos of, let's say fight a priest flying on peacock feathers on a piece of building falling down is peak Bayo.

I'm STILL trying to buy it without ending in a water diet for weeks! XD
Hey! Dante from Devil May Cry isn't boring. T.T

People called the Wii U the new Virtual Boy.
With stuff like this, I call it the new DreamCast.
Super Saiyan Devil I guess i don't disagree with you there.
The Wii U is a super underrated console. Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, and Xenoblade Chronicles X by themselves were enough to justify the console for me. Smash 4 was icing on the cake, PLUS the 100% Wii backwards compatibility make it an amazing console to own.
kainhighwind2 and it even bought Earthbound to Europe!
Correction, MatPat did with retarded reasoning.
I love my Wii U. It could've been better, but it still had some amazing games. Finally got to play Windwaker. And the HD version looks amazing.
22:13 Holy shit, that's just insane
So here's an idea. What if Platinum made a Sonic Game? Just Think about it! I've been dying to know what a Sonic styled fast paced beat-em-up action game would be like since Unleashed and Boom brought up the idea, before falling flat on their respective faces. I think it'd be like Sonic Heroes, not in the team gameplay aspect, although that would be cool, but they'd have sections of enemies you have to take out to progress, but instead of spamming the homing attack, there'd be actual combat. And maybe doing well in the combat sections could take seconds off your time, or be included in the ranking system some how
And i don't mean to hate on Unleashed, as i actually really like that game, but the werehog is not what i wanted out of a Sonic the Hedgehog Beat-em-Up
I think they've done sonic dirty too many times for other devs to want to delve into sonic games
@@majorclementine1412 With how much money Sonic makes, I'd think many development studios would want to cash in on it.

Seriously this guy is the hardest working man on UA-cam. The amount of time that goes into these episodes is nuts. I don't know how he manages to put out as many episodes a year as he does. *I wish someone would go through all his videos and tally up the total amount of game play time.*
Then maybe total amount of episode time and see how many game play minutes/hours goes into UA-cam video episode minutes. It'd be something ridiculous I'm sure.
I really hope the Bayonetta games get ported to the Switch. They deserve a second life on a Nintendo console.

We literally just finished recording videos for this game, and then we find this? Guess it's just a good day for Bayonetta! Awesome video Jirard. Nice to see there's some decent completion bonuses in this one, even if it is a grueling task to complete it!
"The story never quite reaches the insane levels of Kingdom Hearts"
THANK GOD
Oh my god, Jirard! Amazing job! I love the beginning part of this video, were you talk about what things worry you about completing this game. I hadn't seen your videos in a while so I don't know when you implemented this feature into your video structure but I adore it. Hats off to you.
I was on the fence on finally giving this game a shot but now, what the hey I'll give it a shot! Nice video Mr. Completionist!
I know this is three years later but I’m curious, did you love it? 😍
That's because he uses hacked save files, just like in his latest Splatoon video lol
Any proof? Other than the fact that completing Splatoon is insanely difficult
11:19 Stan "The Man" lee is no longer the king of cameos

2:36 I trusted you, Jirard. And u go around spreading dirty lies about my boi???
its like DMC had a baby with dead or alive. i bought a Wii U just to play this game (and pt2), but then it came out on steam.... so i guess i bought a wiiU to literally play 1 game. im still terrible... but ive never had so much fun being terrible. also, apparently i should just wait for anything i buy to go on sale because i never use anything i buy until theyre like 3 years old anyway.
I bet Jirard is gonna review a Metroid game next week. I can feel it in my gut.
Which one exactly? I dunno, probably a 2D one.
Edit: Sorry, forgot what day it was.
Either Samus Returns or Corruption.
CrazySeanDX how about Mario + Rabbids?
Just realized I forgot what day it was. Sorry.
@Matthew Yeah, that makes more sense, my bad. Again, forgot what day it was.
CrazySeanDX Either Fusion or Samus Returns since...you know....Nintendo
What the hell. I went into this video not expecting pure plats on every level, and in infinite climax too no less. I can barely make it through hard getting at least bronze or silver. Non Stop Infinite respect
When I first played this game, the second I first heard Enzo's voice, I nearly died laughing.
The only thing missing would be Enzo being voiced by the ACTUAL Joe Pesci. :)
Oh my god, the way Jirard was, at the skit they did at 11:33 had me laughing so hard haha
YES!! Been wanting you to play this masterpiece of a game for forever, since it's such a fun game to 100%. And 30 minutes, too!? It's my lucky day!!
Here is what I have to say about it. Don't care, bayonetta is gosh dang amazing! I got the amiibo too.
Loving the thumbnail haha. I have this game sitting on my shelf and I have yet to play it but I really need to because I've been obsessed looking at stuff around the game.
Bayonetta is bae. I regret nothing regarding that statement.

As people mentioned it's Pamela Horton, she was one of the main people for Gamer Next Door and Jirard was a guest on a few streams and stuff so he knows her.
Bayonetta has agency in her sexiness. Her outfit and personality fit the universe she’s in. That’s all i can really ask for.

I might go back and revisit, we'll see~
I can't believe he didn't mention dodge offset
There is NO way I'm going to get everything in this game done. I'll just farm 5 mil halos to get the climax bracelets and power my way through it.
(For me the Epilogue is one of the greatest moments of gaming, and I still listen Friendship from my MP3 player while jogging to give me the last final push to the finish.)
And god how I love Jeanne in this game. Bayonetta 2 was a bit of a disappointment because of her minor role in that, and how Platinum Games switched her hair with Bayonetta's. Well, I hope they fix that in possible Bayonetta 3.
