Activision loved sbmm. The players did not love sbmm because it did not feel fair, seemingly always pulling people at a higher skill. They complained and yelled and complained some more until now. Where activision gets lazy, keeps sbmm but throws you a bone every once in a while and then it becomes a giant “it’s gambling” It is, but it might not have been on purpose, and it might be the first step in actually good matchmaking.
The situation is even worse in Apex Legends because of being forced to play in a squad mode where it's a huge advantage to have a pre-made squad. While solo queue players are being thrown around by the EOMM algorithm and being matched with who knows what randoms, pre-made squads can basically cope with anything that's thrown at them. Short of occasionally being matched with some truly predator-level players, they're still going to pubstomp consistently. For solo players, though, it's basically impossible to win until you're handed a total bot match. At least with solo Warzone or Fortnite you can have a fair one on one fight most of the time.
that is crazy. im glad i havent really played cod mp since bo4 and only care about black ops zombies nowadays cause i knew something weird was going on in the matchmaking. that explains a lot. lobbies and win streaks just didnt feel organic, it all felt fabricated. if i wanted to play a real competitive game, i would play counter strike. call of duty has always been a casual fun experience but they ruined even that aspect of the game. im surprised but not surprised at the same time because its activision we are talking about who literally have employees whos job it is to find out how people think.
I have 1.4 KD, every match i play alone is filled with sweats, when i play with friends it gets alot better. Also my W/L is 0.57, because there is basically no penalty for quitting bad matches, if i'm being stomped by a Party of Sweats i just quit and go next, fuck the stats, i just want to have fun
Im in the same boat, but do you ever notice when you quit multiple matches, it joins you into matches halfway through for the next couple sessions? Almost as if its a penalty for leaving

I usually work 9-5 and rarely play for more than 2 hours. After that, it gets too stressful, and I prefer to stop playing.

When you would buy loot boxes in say, BO4, you "rolled the dice" i.e. gambled on whether or not you would get something cool, and you would become addicted to it, buying more and more loot boxes in hopes of getting cool stuff. Activision knew they would get in trouble for this, so for MW2019, they changed it from loot boxes to match making, putting it behind the scenes where it can't be seen. Now in COD when you select "find a match" you are basically "rolling the dice" on whether or not you're going to get an easy match, or a hard one. The EOMM will throw you an easy match once in a while to make you continue to chase the dragon and keep you wanting to play for as long as possible.

That's why the betas always play better than the final game, and why betas are always put on faster servers than the final game when it releases. Remember when the BO4 beta was on 60HZ servers, and it played well. And then the final game released, and we were playing on 20HZ servers. Everyone was wondering why the final game played worse than the beta, and it wasn't until months later that we figured out we were playing on 20HZ servers compared to the betas 60HZ servers. It's all Activision conning you into buying their game with scummy practices.
So how do we work around eomm? I've been dropping my k\d intentionally to try to get less sweaty matches, and it sort of worked. But I still find myself getting absolutely stomped sometimes. And every match I play I pretty much have to make sure I'm at least negative before the match ends. Play 2 good games after that and now you've ruined the rest of your night

I’ve been really irritated camo grinding. Idk who tf thought that it was a good thing to make challenges to get 100 headshots. At least you can start doing the challenges without leveling up, but the headshot challenge is ridicolous. They should had kept the MW2 challenges rather than this. Xd besides, what irritates me the most is that i can’t camo grind consistently. I have one game that i can get headshots or three kills, but then i have two matches in which i can’t do shit because the other team sweat like it’s the end of the world. Xd i just want to play zombies, but i want the Dark Matter camo. :(
Eomm is the issue. Sbmm is pogical to the point it doesn't sacrifice connection. What they actually do is use bad olayers as fodder to average players. Top ten percent aleays play each other. While others feel the 🎢 of the cicle of eomm. Doing good go to a better bracket and back again. Feel god feel shit. The real issue is that this will sacrifice connection making it unfair and being good is a punishment without something to gain. They could have clear ranks but that will hurt the feelings of a lot of players. You have to turn of crossplay and get a modem that wont allow connection to servers far away and play on a party.
Eomm sucks so much and more in multiplayer. There in warzone aswell. Sbmm is incredibly irritating in warzone, my first two matches are always very low skill ranked players which i have to carry then afterwards i get paired with good players who play strategicly. Then i face desync boss... 😂

It’s broken for me. 1.3k/d, 374 score/min with only a 38% win rate in matchmaking with nearly 700 games played. I have negative fun.
During the beta I had over a 1.5 kd was winning so many games I loved it then the game came out my kd is below 1.0 and the game just isn’t fun
My stats are about the same as yours 1.4 and a .45 win loss or so and my experience is the same zero fun except in zombies
