I’m not updating my 2018. The update will put more soot into your engine via the egr. No thanks! I consider myself lucky to get a diesel with these cheats. I’M KEEPING THEM!
Here's the problem...when you get the HCU brake recall service, the bastards will do 67A. A guy just told me he went in for the HCU recall and told them NOT to do 67A and they said the dealership is mandated to do 67A. More EGR is problematic. I'm passing on 67A and the HCU as long as possible.
@ I live in Canada. The EPA has zero control up here. I’ve had my truck in and told them not to do the 67A and they didn’t. Up here dealership will even work on a deleted truck. They don’t care because there is no EPA threatening them. Only reason I don’t delete mine is I travel in the USA and if I break down a thousand miles from home, I need to be able to fix my truck. This is why I am so happy mine has the cheater software. It’s the best of both worlds. I can get my truck fixed and no soot being put into my engine from the egr.
I just received a letter offering $1000 if I complete the emissions recall. Drive 10,000 ijn 12 months and receive another $3,000, PLUS another $6,000 if I let them come and get it for a few weeks. That's $10K.
@@14sgs I’m in CA too. I’ll take that deal if they offer it. Already got the other notices shown in the video. I have a work truck so I could do without my daily for the few weeks. It’d be interesting to hear how that plays out for you.
man... my def pump and nox sensors are already bad on my truck and cant even drive it, only got 20miles left before its locked at 5mph. im thinking about doing the recall as long as they repair the other stuff on my truck since they giving you warranty.
I'm thinking about it too. At least we'll have a solid 48 months warranty on all DEF related hardware and software. Thanks for watching and good luck to you!
I had the exact same with email and letter same day. Not doing the update. They're releasing NO DETAILS and they clearly have concerns over the effect the update will have on the DEF injection system and the SCR... I will tell you I was forced to do my Cummins fleet at my office and since the update on them - 2016 through 2019 trucks - and we are consuming DEF at comparably outrageous rates! Our 2019 was crippled by the update, and out of service (and revenue generation) for 5 weeks arguing about what caused it!!! I'm sorry, but this is also a governmental abuse because if you read what categorizes as a "safety recall," this is not it based on what little information is being shared with the public.
No need to assume. This was driven by the EPA complaining and filing a lawsuit against Cummins due to bureaucratic horseshit. Cummins has to ask the EPA to approve emissions systems but did not disclose a "defeat device." I have no problem with this, but the EPA is citing "environmental justice" crap.
A diesel mechanic told me if you bring in your vehicle for recall, they reflash the computer. If you try to install a tune afterward, the computer will be disabled permanently resulting in purchasing a new computer. It is like a poison pill.
I’ve also heard the same of the dealership locking down the computer to prevent any changes. Neighbor had his truck done and his DEF usage went up dramatically.
I have a 2018 with 50,000 miles. I have no plan to comply with the recall. I read too many reports of owners leaving the dealer post recall with the CEL on and the dealers merely shrugging their shoulders.
If you own a 2013 to 2024 and it’s not deleted then you’re not right in the head. You get maybe 21mpg with a 4wd 2500 crew cab stock . Deleted you get almost 37 mpg Don’t gotta be a rocket scientist to figure that one out
my dealer did this recall without asking me. it was in for another problem.
I've wondered about that. It must be mandatory if the truck is in house.
Thanks for watching!
@@pmtips4482 these mfs get paid to preform this update even if they cant solve the orginial problem i brought it for

I have a 2018 and I’m not doing the recall. Too many issues with loss of power and codes coming up.
I'm not either....maybe next spring...

Very tempting on the $10K.
Good luck!
I’d put mine back to stock for $10K lol. What state are you in if you don’t mind me asking?
@ CA. Already stock as stock can be.

My truck lost some weight so no need to do this recall.
Awesome!

Same! Wonder if I bring it in they will install all the parts for free. 😂

Shall NOT comply
I heard that!
The reimbersment is to skirt a lawsuit or mass buyback i assume. They dont want a dieselgate scenario but thats exactly what they are dealing with.

So if my deaf pump failed prior to the recall, they will cover the cost of it
I got a NOX fault code. Had it replaced at 139000 after recall at 137000. They claim they will reimburse me 630.00.
I’ll update when that happens.
I hope it works out!

Had mine done 6 months ago, No issises no codes Crossing my fingers
Good deal!

I have no plans to do this recall.
It feels like a false flag to me.
Yeah not gonna get it either. I’ll just delete it once my warranty is up in 3k more miles
