Josh Smith live at Umbriablues Festival (www.umbriablues.com) Foligno (Italy) - June 20, 2019 Produced by Ermanno Bonifazi at BayRock Studio (www.bayrockstudio.com)
Grazie Ermanno !!! sei sempre Grande !! . .
I was wondering about this too - maybe the mikes weren't set up to catch much of what's coming from the audience? But it strangely fits with these 3 great guys just playing their a***s off while looking at least a bit lost on that seemingly giant stage...
I think the recording was from the board, meaning only what the vocal, amp and drum mics picked up. Would be nice if they had a house mic for the recording, added to the mix.
He has many times, most recently in Huntsville AL on 4/3/21. I was there and it was just Joe, Michael Rhodes on bass, and Anton Fig on drums. He did have a girl singing backing vocals but that doesn't count, it was still just a 3 piece power trio
Josh Smith is one of the greatest masters of blues guitar if not the best at all, but what about the people of Foligno - don't they know how to clap in Umbria. I thought they were warm blooded in Italy, but this audience seems icecold, or maybe non-existent.
There was no mike on the audience. This is from the board and we didn't have the mic on the audience since was not expected to release the video the concert. The audience was hot as expected!
No smoke without fire? The drummer appears to be burning,... no I mean, constant smoke effects look a bit comical! Doesn't detract from the beautiful playing, though!!😄🎸👍
That entrance doesn't have quite the same impact as say, Stevie Ray hitting the stage with Scuttle Buttin', does it ? Josh Smith is a fine guitarist, but he just doesn't create that electricity in the room . Blues is more than a pedalboard full of fancy gear and the quest for the perfect tone

Exactly, always good to have your standards at hand...
Fantastic stuff. The crowd are too quiet at the end of songs, it ridiculous. Tell him you love what he does when you see him live!!!!

@@SRHMusic012 That's what I actually thought!
Correct, is from the main board and we did not had a mic on the audience. Originally was not supposed to be released.
@@umbriablues great that you did though, thanks!
grandissimo Josh, peccato che la chitarra sia poco sotto al volume / presenza che avrebbe meritato..
Nice Consert :) Do you Play in mono by the way?
First song reminds me of Lonnie Mack
Klasse, wie er an den Drummer denkt 👌
8:32 does anyone know what song this is?
49:22
JoeB should be backing up josh.. if the music world understood, which it seldom does..
Why can't Bonamassa do a trio??

Who is the drummer? He mumbled his name once.
Gabriele Giovenali
Even pros use music stands and sheet music. Phew.

Always open to accept another Stevie Ray Vaughan, but lets be honest. It likely never happens. 🙏
Sorry i like the "old" sound......
It's good but there are mostly a lot of wannabe Robben Ford licks. It's nice playing but not terribly original
Visto diverse volte al Baked Potato, sempre top. Peccato per quell’odioso modo di cantare…
