what is that redish spray? Adhesive?
That is our foam adhesive. You have to use a specific adhesive because most things don't stick to the polyeurethane and similar chemicals. 3M makes a good adhesive spray you can get at the home depot or walmart.
Why did he sand a metal chair?
You would sand a metal surface to get rust off, to scuff for paint so it had something to adhere to, or to get rid of small surface issues
Why did he steam the sponge 🧽?
It helps it to de-compress so that he can re-shape the foam into the proper position since over time the foam slowly squeezes into whatever shape the current fabric goes into
